That food pain in the chest
Michelle Cicerello replied to meggiep's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
wow, I have no idea why you would be hurting in the back of your neck or shoulders, unless it really is your stomach acting up and thats where the pain shows up? I would give your Dr a call and see what they say - sounds awful, so sorry your going through that. -

Michelle Cicerello posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So, for the last week, I have been wearing my normal bra, and its just to dang big, I can barely wear it as its just too big - This morning I decided to look in my drawer and found some smaller bra's and decided to try one on - I went from a 48 DDD to a 44 DD I am SOOOO happy, I have had Big girls for quite some time and if they get really small, it will not bother me at all!! LOL sorry I just had to share -

HELP!! 3 weeks out (tomorrow)
Michelle Cicerello replied to kellyw74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would definatly call the DR - I do know that they put in a really deep stitch in the main incision, you may have pulled something and that is why its burning - Hope you feel better soon, please keep us updated on the outcome!! Hugs Girlie -

I know, eating now is SO different from how it was before surgery - I dont eat now because I want to ~ I eat now because I have to - I am not really craving anything, except when I was on liquids I wanted my mushy Beans, but now that I can have mushies, there are no cravings, no hunger - Today me and my hubby went to the mall to walk around for exercise (something I havent been able to do for years) and when we got done, he said, are you about ready to eat? I was like hmmm I dunno, what time is it? I looked and it had been almost 6 hours since I ate last and I said, well I guess I should eat something.... lol This is still so new and different for me, it still takes me awhile to comprehend it all - I am glad that you guys (Meggie and Kelly ) are doing so well, and Meggie, you will have to let us know what the first thing you eat tomorrow, and how it was Hugs to you both!! -

R U EXPERIENCING ANYTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY...SLEEVERS
Michelle Cicerello replied to ursieursie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had no idea what to expect after surgery, and that in itself made me a bit nervous before surgery - One thing, is I had NO idea that I would NEVER be hungry - and that I would think about food all the time, but in a different way, before it would be, man I want to eat, now its ok, I NEED to eat - I never thought I would feel so good so fast, I thought it would take me awhile - I had high blood pressure before surgery and was taking a pill twice a day - before I even got out of the hospital, my BP was almost perfect 120/66 I never realized how much stamina I would have and how much more energy I would have to do things I could do for a long time before surgery I never realized how out of wack my hormones would be and how giddy it would make me feel, how easily I would cry, and how it would make me bleed before it was time for over two weeks!! With the rapid weight loss, comes itchy skin - that drives me crazy and I dont know what to do to stop it As far as the IV goes, I had a normal IV the whole time, never had a PIC line. Hope that helps answer some of your questions ~ quite honestly there really hasnt been too much "Bad" from this, most everything is good -
A GOOD protein Powder
Michelle Cicerello replied to Michelle Cicerello's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I agree, it is yummy and he (guy at GNC) did tell me I would be able to absorb all of the Protein - had something to do with the Amino acids - I kinda stopped listening to him once I tasted it and found that I like it!! LOL Shame on me -
So today, is day 18 for me, I feel good, pain is non existent now except if I over do it, then I have some minor pain - Yesterday was a blah day for me, I wasnt mad, wasnt really happy, just rather blue - I chalked that up to hormones and tried to be as pleasant to everyone as I could I have more stamina now, I am able to walk walk walk and not get tired or hurt, use to be, that I would get a few isles down in a store and my legs, hips and lower back would hurt and I would have to take a break - not anymore Yesterday I went to the Eye dr and got some new glasses that I knew I needed for a long time - I havent worn glasses since I was a kid, but I knew my eyes were not in tip top shape - I found the cutest glasses ever, and I cannot wait to get them - lol silly I know Today I am going to the hair dresser and I am getting a brazilian blowout and highlights and a cut - I am getting a "makeover" before I go back to work on tuesday to go with the New me All in all this week has been good, and I am so blessed to be where I am now.... OH OH OH, I forgot to mention the best thing - the spoke with the Dr and he said that is was ok to start on the mushy foods now YAY, and I found a Protein shake yesterday at GNC that I can stomach!!! YAY Life is good, thanks for listening to me ramble

fluid retention
Michelle Cicerello replied to davisdoc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I gained water weight after surgery too - nurse told me that for every bag of IV fluids they put into you, you will gain about 3 pounds per bag - I had 4 IV bags, so I gained about 12 pounds, but lost it within the first week or so - I also gained some weight last week and was concerned, but the DR said that it was because I was retaining water, to make sure I take in more water and I would be ok. Dont worry, its normal stuff, you will even out soon -
A GOOD protein Powder
Michelle Cicerello replied to Michelle Cicerello's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I have the bag, smaller then the jug, and it has 7 servings in it it says - And you should do something new with your hair - it just makes you feel good -
Hi there - I was in the hospital for 24 hours, I had my surgery on Monday at about noon, and was released on Tuesday at noon. I have taken 3 weeks off of work and am really happy that I did ~ the first week, your really not going to feel like doing anything, and although the second week you do feel better, you get tired out pretty easily - Everyone is different, and with you working at home, maybe you can go back to work after 7 days and just rest when needed through the day ~ Getting everything in, is a job, but you can do it, and everyone here on this forum is here ready to help you if you run into any obstacles or have any questions Good luck with your surgery, you will do great!!!

Day 18 Post Op
Michelle Cicerello replied to Michelle Cicerello's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Kelly, The Beans went down well, better after they cooled then when they were warm?? not sure why - I did try mashed potatoes with some gravy, and I have to say, didnt like them much - I LOVED mashed potatoes before surgery, now not so much, although I did like the gravy and did eat a bit of that, and I HATED gravy before surgery - its funny how your tastes change. Last night I tried some hummus, because DR said that was a good thing to eat, and it went down pretty good, the flavors were a bit strong, but a few bites was good. Scrambled eggs for me ( on the juicy/wet side) were awesome - my tummy seemed to like them alot, and today I am going to try some cottage cheese and apple sauce and see how that goes. I hope things get better for you and eating, I know your having such a hard time, but hopefully thats just because your tummy is still swollen, and given some time you will be able to eat again. HUGS to you -
Day 18 Post Op
Michelle Cicerello replied to Michelle Cicerello's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know your tired of the Protein shakes, I am too, but I am still drinking them to make sure I get in my protein - Ughhhh My first mushy thing was refried Beans with a little cheese melted in - Yumm lol I went yesterday to the store and bought the stuff to make the ricotta bake as I have wanted that since I saw it on the egg face site. I am extremely happy with my new dew! and I think I am out of the "blues" at this point as well - I got up early this morning and its a beautiful cool breezy morning here, so I mixed my Protein shake and took it out side and sat on the patio drinking my shake and enjoying the cool breeze and all of the birds chirping away - it was a most relaxing morning to say the least - One thing this surgery has really taught me is.... We all really need to stop and smell the roses - we have been given a new lease on life, we really need to stop and fully enjoy it! Cheers to you all, have a fabulous Happy Weekend! -
