Why am I so darn hungry all the time?

I totally agree. My surgery was 3 weeks ago and I am very hungry...usually during the late afternoon/evening. I am definitely craving protein...but my doctor has me on soft foods still. I am doing the mix of soft with full liquid...no meat. I do egg beaters; boca burgers; soup; pudding; yogurt; oatmeal...etc. I can say honestly sitting here at the computer at 10pm at night I am freaking hungry! UGH! I just put down two bottles of water and will be up all night going to the bathroom. I have dropped 20 lbs since my surgery on May 11th...but it is coming off slower now. My fill will not be until around June 21st.

    Pre-Op With Huge Concerns

Is the basic rule to eat little portions all day? I know that my sister had gastric and she still orders HUGE portions... ones that she couldn't even come near to finishing... then orders dessert too. I wonder if a bunch of it is not in our minds that we order the same amounts of food we did before? I am getting banded on May 11th. Soon. I am in Texas too and also a betsi jane! Thanks for all the info.

Three Weeks Away - New Member

I am thinking now that it is good that it is that early. That way I can get get released sooner and not have an overnight stay (barring any complications). Thanks for the well wishes!
  5. New to the board and I absolutely think this is an incredible resource! I have my surgery scheduled May 11th at 5:30am in the morning (UGH!) I am 36 and have United Healthcare Insurance if that helps anyone else.
