Wow, ignorant and not such a great business woman berating customers. Real smart. Sorry she got all in your face, sounds like you got a lot in though, not that she seems to be the type of person to listen!

Stall? Or am I getting greedy?
Megan replied to BeachWithMyBabies's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm at the same point as you right now, from being around on the forums there seems to be a "mini-stall" the 3rd or 4th week out while your body is adjusting. You may want to play around with your calories on different days to trick your body into thinking it's getting more calories. You're definitely doing better volume wise than me, I've even had to start setting a timer to go off every 20 minutes to remind me to have a shot of protein shake or water Trust me, you're not done losing! Just because your body is readjusting doesn't mean your honeymoon period is over. -
I'm fortunate enough to have gotten all of my energy back before I even left the hospital, but I started taking B12 this week and it's definitely made me feel perkier. The anesthesia tires you out and you aren't getting in many calories so it is understandable. You may want to up your protein if you can handle it and make sure they test your iron too

That's a really good idea! Trying that. Had beans and cheese yesterday. So delicious!

Am I stretching my sleeve???
Megan replied to samantha209's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think this is a common fear for anyone who gets WLS (I'm having my own not-so-quiet freakouts over here!). Doctors use different sized bougie's and different surgical techniques which make sleeve sizes vary plus it does depend on how long your stomach is to begin with. As long as we don't push ourselves past comfortable I think we should be good -
I'm only 2 weeks out from surgery but from what I've read that's not abnormal at all Hopefully you will have more to eat when you get on solids. For now maybe try adding in syrups or try new things, the recipes section may have more info for you too!

Docs seem to be split regarding coffee and caffeine since they can up your risk of ulcers post-op (pre-op too actually). Besides the calories many programs have you abstain from alcohol because there is also a higher risk of transfer addiction where people who used to rely on food for "a fix" start to turn to other sources for comfort. I'm talking about people who hated the taste of alcohol becoming raging alcoholics after surgery. Just like if you know someone who quit smoking and took up eating or someone who quit hard drugs and started smoking more.

Hi! I haven't been on here in a bit but wanted to wish all of the early April sleevers luck! I'll try to pop in before my surgery, but I'm traveling for work all next week and them boom, surgery!

Soda Question
Megan replied to notsochubbybritneyspears's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think maybe it's just because it's sweet, but when I drink a lot of chocolate Protein shakes I crave soda less. Iced tea is my savior, I don't mind the unsweetened flavor. A couple of years ago I quit soda cold turkey and stuck wtih it for a year and a half. No idea why I started back up again, but it is so hard to quit. You can also try adding pieces of fruit to your Water, it will naturally flavor it and if you step out from the lemon/lime arena it can be really satisfying and different. I like oranges and love berries in mine. -
I only like ready to drink (RTD) shakes because of the smell and the mess. I like Premier (available at Costco), Isopure (I only like the blue raspberry), Isopure smoothies (has sugar, but I believe it's from the fruit), and Labrada Lean Body. I also don't mind GNC's Total Lean shake. Oh Yeah! is also good. Atkins taste okay too, there's also a low carb Slim Fast which doesn't taste that bad if you're in a pinch. I went to GNC and Costo and bought one of each of the shakes they carry (and are good for you), some made me really gassy and some I preferred the taste of over others.

Wow, there's so many of us! I took some before pics this weekend. My sister actually schedule a family photo shoot with her kids so it's nice that i got some nice quality shots of myself. Anyone have any good tips for before/after shots? I take mine in front of a door so it gives a frame of reference and I do my hair and try to look nice. I hate when before/afters are more or less makeover shots
