The pain is managed now. I caught it early. We are aggressive with the medication and praying for healing. There is a 10% chance of total healing within 2 years (not that my God deals with percentages). It has been a faith builder! Prais the Lord though, I have had a really good month!

Hi all! I have not been on in quite sometime. In Sept. I started having some medical issues (joint pain on different areas). After lots of dr. visits and money, I have been diagnosed with RA. Needless to say I have been on steroids since October (gained 25lbs). We are starting to gradually take me off of them. I need to go get a fill, I really need to just stay away from the sweets. I still can not eat much food, but because of that I eat sweets. I am retaining a ton of water. My dr. says that when I am totally off of the steroid, most of the weight will come right off. Meanwhile all my cute summer clothes don't fit........

What weight for regular size clothing??

I am at about 195 and wear a 16W. 16 regulars will not work because of my "apron". I am 5'5". I lost all my weight as of February, then I think I got a fill that is too tight and now I eat a lot of sweets (they go down way easier). I am going in to get some fluid taken out.

So I got all of the sweets out of the house... I am hoping to get the bandwagon moving again. I have only lost about 5lbs. since February.............. Manatee- I would be happy if those were my shirtless pics............I will have to have some plastics before I post any pics like that! Keep up the good work!

Hey May Banders! Sorry, I have not been on in a while. I have been so busy. My bandiversary was on the 17th. I weighed 192, which put me at down 82.6 since the beginning. I know I could be doing better, but I am fighting myself. I think I need a slight unfill. I can only eat a few bites of meat at a meal, so then I resort to other things.... I hope everyone is doing well. Melissa- I am so sorry to hear about you DH. I will be praying for your family.

I know I have wondered if this is the end of the road for me also? In th ebiginning my Doc said that most Lap Band patients lose 70% of their excess weight. I have lost 81 out of 109lbs. I am so close to goal (closer than I have ever been) I can taste it. Apparently not enough to stop tasting everything else though........... I want to be thin! I need a kick in the butt!

MelissaS- If your muscles are sore, your body will retain water to protect them. Just keep it up and it will show on the scale sooner or later. Also, if you are building muscle that weighs more also. Try and stay off the scale for a week. I went through the same thing when I got my trainer at first. You are not failing. You have lost 60+ lbs. in less than a year! Look how cute your pictures are! When is the last time you felt that good about a picture of yourself that you saw???

What do you all eat for breakfast? Has anyone tried Fiber One bars. The chocolate ones are great! The are like 2 or 3 points on Weight Watchers. Yummy! That is a hard meal for me. I am trying to stay away from protein shakes. I usually have 1/2 an egg and 1/2 a piece of toast. Sometimes that is hard to get down. After about five bites of any solid food, I am done.

Isn't it amazing, the damage and strain we have put on our bodies all those years. I have lost the equivalent of my five year old twins! I feel great! I still have a ways to go, but I love life now. I feel good about the way I look in clothes (for the most part). I have energy. Down .5 this mornng!

I can only have a few nuts at a time, then they start to hurt. However, I totally understand the first bite is a doozy with chocolate. I have one bite and that leads to fifteen bites.............. I need to go to the gym, it has just been a crazy week. I feel so much better when I do go though..........

You could probably go see one anytime. That is just what I have personally set for myself. I feel like after that, the rest will have to be cut off and tightened up. I wouldn't go until after the baby also. But I have had three kiddos and two C's 19 months apart. There is only so much the gym can do.

Sign me up too! I have 24 more lbs to go until I can go see a PS for a consult. You would think that would be enough motivation for me. But I had a nasty affair with kit kats and choc. M&M's this weekend. I can say no to cake, because it makes me sick. However chocolate goes down just fine! I wouls like to loose 20 lbs and be at the 100 mark by Memorial Day! Then be at goal 165 by my B-day June 30th. One of my major problems is I can only eat about 6 bites until I get hiccups and am done eating. Then about 3 hours later I am hungry and go for snacking (M&Ms)..........
  14. Nurseamy- I noticed you are in Texas. I am in the DFW area and was wondering who you PS was. We are about to start going to consults. I like your results. How long had you been at goal before your PS? Thanks!

Manatee- As hard as it may be, try not to get on the scale for a week. Remember all the water weight from the IV's and the bloating from the gas they pump in you. Besides that you can't eat solids for a month. You will knock off that weight really fast. You are in my prayers!

I had lost .2 cc's, and she gave me .2 more than the doc did. So I have a total of .4cc's more than I did this morning. I am on liquids for 24hrs. My first meal will be in the suite at the MAVS game tomorrow night. Hopefully I don't embarass myself. I can feel water gurgle as it goes down???

I called the PA yesterday and told her about my .1 fill. She talked to the billing lady and I am going in at 1pm today for another fill at no charge. I would not be surprised if I have no fluid in my band. I swear I can eat almost as much as I could w/out any fill. I will update later. Manatee- You look great how you are! Are you working out a ton? Talk about extreme makeover! I can't wait until my after pictures look that good. Can you tell me what you eat in a typical day. I must be doing something wrong............

I'm pretty sure he hit it, I felt hit (you now that weird sensation when they pull the needle out). They always withdraw all the fluid out to make sure you didn't lose any fluid. Then put that back in plus some. I will have to wait two more months to get more. Of course again, if I only ate what I was suppose to, this would not be a big deal.....

Frustrated!!!!!!!!! I called my doc office since it was so soon after my fill and I can't tell a difference. They said I will have to pay another $85 to go in and get more. So irritating. The PA normally gives me .2 cc's each time, he vae me .1. It also took the doctor 5x to get the needle in my port, the P.A. hits it the first time??

He wants me to have stuff that will sit in my stomach longer. Above my band. That way I can wait longer before consuming more calories. Like I said, if I could stay away from sweets I would be fine. I can't tell a difference since my last fill..............

Wenjea- Here is what I told him that I do, and he freaked. I mix 8oz. 1% milk, ice, 1 scoop body fortress whey protein. My doc has always been-No Liquid Calories. He says that protein drinks do not stay with you long enough. They go right through the band. Different doctors, different opinions. I do find that if I eat 1/2 piece of 100% wheat toast & an egg in the morning, I am full a lot longer than if I had a protein drink. It is just hard in the morning with the kids to have time to make an egg. I am only 5'5" so don't be too impressed that I am under 200. I am still wearing an 18. I look at al the people wearing a 14 and get jealous. I am really very happy for everyone though. It just makes me wish I would have said no to the sweets that go down easily, that I seem to be addicted to again. I have done pretty good the past few days though.

Wenjea- Why are you jealous? Your BMI is way better than mine. My Doc asked me what foods I don't eat. I told him any red meat that is not ground. He said "why" I said because I get sick after just a few bites. He said "that is what I want you to eat, just take less bites". He also got onto me about drinking protein drinks. He said they go straight to your hips. If I stay away from the sweets I think I could loose the rest of my weight. I bought some 100 calorie packs of cookies. Maybe then I will have limits.
