5 months out, 113 lbs down! With Photos

Congrats!!! You look great. -
I was a self pay in TX. For the surgery and follow-up doctor visits I paid $16,400. Some doctor's offices offer a type of medical credit card that you can get. Good luck. It is definitely the best thing that I have ever done for myself!

confused about meals/free foods

Tamz, I agree that 5 weeks on full liquids is a long time. I absolutely sympathize with you! I was sleeved by the partner of the doctor who sleeved you. It is their policy to put you on full liquids for five weeks to help guard against leaks and other complications. Just be patient....it gets better! :-) -
What a great story! Good luck. You can do it!!!
-
Hey there Tamz. Glad to hear that you are doing better! I did eat tomato soup early on and had no problems with it. Just make sure that you are taking a PPI if you have acid issues.

please reply with some advice!!!

I too only needed to lose 65-70 pounds. I was sleeved on March 10th. So far, I have lost 54 pounds. I can tell you that, although the first few weeks were hard, it is absolutely the best gift I have given myself! I was a "self pay" because I was not heavy enough to qualify for approval through insurance. It was definitely worth every penny! -
So glad everything went well! :-)

Hey Tamz, I am in Frisco too. I would absolutely be there for you! Just let me know when and where and I'm there! :=)
-
Hey Tamz. I'm in Frisco too. Good luck with your surgery!! I was sleeved on 3-10. :-)

Cash pay and afraid of possible complications
Kim G replied to Meandmylittledog's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor's office offered BLIS insurance. It was a little pricey, but well worth the feeling of security in case of complications. -
I had my post op appointment yesterday and down 23 pounds!

I'm totally understand about being sick of the Protein drinks! I was sleeved on March 10. I am supposed to be getting 60 grams of protein in a day, but am only able to get 40-42 grams. I am drinking grape frost Isopure. It has 40 grams/20oz container. It is barely tolerable!! I am also using a product called New whey liquid Protein. It has 42 grams protein/3.8 oz. It is very sweet and syrupy. I usually have to "chase" it with some lemon Water just to kill the taste. Lucky you to already be on some foods. I have 5 weeks of the full liquid diet before I can move on. -

Kim G replied to justdance's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started the evening before my surgery. Luckily, I did not have to have a catheter so I was able to use Tampons. Good luck! -
