    magic bullet anyone?

I have wanted a magic bullet for some time now. I received a GE single serve blender as a Christmas gift and I love it. It works very similar to the bullet from what I can tell. It has a smaller cup and a tall cup. A cross blade for mixing and a flat blade for grinding. And other stuff. It's under $20 at Walmart, so you can compare it to the others.

    Dr. Kelly in Mexico

Congrats on the 15 lbs, that is awesome!!! Thanks for the compliment, and I know how just how you feel about being scared and nervous and the "what ifs". I am an anxious person in general and I have let fear hold me back in life. I got to the point that I felt like I had no choice healthwise. I had to do something. Let us know when you're going, I'm happy for you. It's exciting when things fall into place!! :hippie:
  4. Congrats Erika!!! Scooting my soon to be skinny booty over to make some room for you on the bench!!

    Cheating????

No need on focusing on what you can't change, but just try really hard to stick with it. We don't know your drs policy on what he will do if you cheat and/or your liver is not shrinked. Even if he goes ahead and does your sleeve, you are putting yourself at risk for a liver nick or laceration. I know it's hard. Pre-op is worse than post op. But do what you need to do to be safe during surgery. You're worth it!!

    2 week surgiversary...

    Yayyyyyy. 2 wk surgiversary - me 2!!! -18 lbs - me 2!!! Wooohoooo! I <3 my sleeve!! :cheer2:
  7. -18 lbs at my 2 wk surgiversary!!! Woohoooooo! -53 since Oct!! Feeling GR8!!! I <3 my sleeve!!!

  8. Wow, congrats!! You're doing great!! Good for you on not letting the scale control you or your moods. We are taking the slow scenic route, not the interstate. And we'll get to our destination when we're suppose to.
  9. What size bougie does your dr use? No judgement here but that is a lot of food for 14 days post op. And it IS dangerous to eat outside of your post op guidelines simply due to the fact that your sleeve may not be giving you true full signals yet because of cut nerves and such. I am 14 days post op today. I am not hungry, but yes some things look and smell wonderful! But I grab something I can have and distract myself from the "food lust" by reading here or walking. The amount of food you had is concerning because you don't want to compromise your staple line and cause a leak. If you cannot resist temptation, maybe just a few bites would satisfy you. Not many people a yr out even eat a whole burrito, tortilla and all. I am curious like the others, did you feel restriction? When you are able to have these things, you may want to measure everything out. And are you on a PPI? I find this helps with the "false hunger" rumblings. Try to get back on track and maybe avoid food situations till you get your head around it and feel stronger. Restaurants aren't the best place for us right now. You can do this, and you know what you have to do!!
  10. That's strange that it starts at 2 wks out. I'm sorry you're having this problem. I would search here and google it maybe? I would think if it was some kinda infection, you'd be running fever. Maybe you pulled something. But I'd call the dr and see what they say. Sorry I couldn't help more, I hope it gets better soon!!
  11. I'm sorry you're still in pain and feeling bummed out. Since you are stopping that one pain med you may want to try some extra strength tylenol and see if it helps. If not, call your dr for something else. On the energy, just take it slowly, it's still early. And you're not eating, so it does affect our energy. I think the B-12 that dissolves under the tongue might help you if you aren't already taking anything. I hope you start feeling better soon, it is definitely a big adjustment. Take care and rest when you need to, it gets better everyday!!
  12. Congrats on being sleeved!! You are doing great, and how awesome of you to think of rewarding your successes by giving to others. That is a very kind and generous idea. Sounds like a great outlet for you and one in which you apparently enjoy. I would love to participate too. I'll watch for your thread. :hippie:
  13. I have to focus very hard on me and my new life to get through it sometimes. I either come here to read or post, or I'm walking at my fav stores or a local festival in these small towns around me, which is hard in a way because the delicious food smells, but I figure the walking can only help my weight loss. I will admit I am spending more money, not necessarily expensive things but I am indulging on litlle things. The things I buy usually are something to contribute to my appearance like shoes, handbags, sunglasses, clothes, etc. When I am in a situation where I can't escape the sight and smell of food, i get a Protein shake that I really like and remind myself, this is what is necessary for me to become healthy and slimmer, and even tho the just liquids are temporary, my life is now forever changed on amount of food, so I just have to get used to it. It helps knowing I will eventually get a small taste of the things I love. The liquid stage is the hardest. Right now the food I am looking forward to most is a tablespoon of refried Beans with some melted cheese and verde salsa and greek yogurt lol. This is wild to me cuz at one time this wouldn't have been all that appetizing compared to other things lol Just knowing that I am not alone helps me so much! I am so grateful to the people on this board!! We can do it! We'll get through it together! :hippie:

    Not hungry, still naucious

I agree, focus on fluids, because dehydration isn't fun and also causes nausea. Also, acid reducers help with nausea. I hope you start feeling better soon. Congrats on being sleeved!!

    A little upset

I had to laugh at the delusional fat person that continues to wear small cothes. I never did that, i tend to go the other way and wear big stuff. I'm sorry it upset you, Maybe he felt he could tell you because you do ask sometimes. But if it isn't small, then I am not sure, unless its just not his favorite of your shirts? Just let him know when you want his opinion you'll ask for it hahaha. I'd wear it all the damn time now!! Tehe jk

Not in the mood -warning TMI

Yes and age can of course play a big part in this. So add it all together. But there are definitely things you can work on together. Don't give up. My libido had decreased to almost nothing and I tried this supplement called DHEA. It worked well for me but ok thru your dr if you try it. I guess it works for men too. I haven't started back on it yet since surgery, gonna see how things go.

    should i be scared?

I'm just reading your post, so I'm glad your doing better!! Hang in there and sip and walk, it will get better every day!! Congrats on being sleeved!! It is hard for me to believe I've been sleeved for almost 2 wks!! Mon will be 2 wks for me. Time flys when you are adjusting to a new way of life. I look forward to sharing this journey with you. :hippie:

    This site

Hi Tamz in Texas!!! I feel the same way about this site, and I am grateful to have found it too. It really helps, especially if you live in a really small town that doesn't have a wls support group. Almost every post is about something I can truly relate to. It's amazing!! We're all in this together! :hippie:
  19. -15 lbs as of today since surgery, -50 total since Oct!! I still have a ways, but thankful I have the sleeve as a tool!!

  20. Yayyyy Valentina, so happy for you!!! It's a good thing you got a quick date, less time to worry. You will do great! And there may be some sour type protein powders, I think it may be the syntrex nectars?? You can google it but seems Roadside Lemonade sounds familar. Or is that an alcoholic drink? Haha. They've got some kinda lemonade. Good luck and I am sure you will keep us updated. :hippie:
  21. Yes, and as of this next Mon I will be 2 wks!! Hard to believe! I am doing great actually, i am getting around good, haven't had any pain since being released from the hospital. Luckily so far no nausea or throwing up. No difficulty swallowing liquids. But I've always been a sipper, not a gulper lol. And you wouldn't even know I had just had surgery unless you paid attention to my eating. My sis says I looked better in the hospital than before, but it's probably cuz I was well hydrated from the IV. I had been sick right before surgery with bronchitis/sinus/allergy stuff. I didn't know till just a few days before surgery if I was even gonna get to do it. But I got better and it all worked out and I am loving the sleeved life!!! I hope you have an easy recovery too!! :hippie:
  22. I have a GE single serve blender that is great for blending up stuff to the consistency of a thin or thicker density. I also like the Atkins Adv Protein Shakes in Vanilla and Mocha latte. I got this little blender for Christmas and its very similar to the bullet but under $20 at Walmart. It's finally being put to use and I just love it!

    Dr. Kelly in Mexico

Christy, i also wanted to add that when you get your surgery date, to look on the threads for your month and you might find someone else going the same day. Griselda, Meepmeep17, and I were all there at the same time and were sleeved the same day. We got to share the experience. It was wonderful and reassuring to me and I enjoyed meeting them. I had my sister go with me too, so it was really nice having a support team to talk to and hang out with. Hope all is well, good luck!
  24. Yayyyyy congrats to you!!! Can't wait for that to happen and I just love seeing others hit that mark!!
  25. Absolutely normal, I posted something similar regarding how I would alternate between extreme joy and then terror. It's not fun to be nervous, but it does mean you are thinking things through. That's normal and important. I was just sleeved last wk 5/16 and I am as shocked that I finally did it as I am thrilled! Good luck and keep us updated.
