And sometimes we just don't tolerate something, even if we've done fine with it before. Feel better!!

Sleeved May 31st and Feeling Great
KellyL replied to karaserene1985's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats!!! Don't worry about the bougie size, you can't tell that much difference between them and it will not make a difference on your weightloss. Also we don't feel the restriction as much with liquids, so you will be able to feel more in the mushy and solid food stages. We all have these same worries and fears, but you're gonna do great!! :hippie: -
Am I officially The Lowest Loser??
KellyL replied to 1-4-Many's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Almost 40 lbs is amazing, and I've heard the same about those of us who lost weight prior to surgery. We may not lose as much immediately post op or stall sooner or for longer. I am ok with it as long as the scales eventually move and downward. Good for you on getting testing done, this is important. Congrats on your success so far!!! -
Still fighting the blood sugar .. help :(

Broth Sf popsicles Sf jello G2 Water Crystal light Basically anything that you can see through, that is sf. Stay very hydrated if you choose to do this. This shouldn't be harmful, because a lot of us even did the clear liquids for a wk or more and you only have today and tomorrow left? I suppose I need to add a disclaimer here: I am not a dr or nurse. I hope whatever you choose to do works!!! Good luck, I am rooting for you! -
Eddie, i'm so glad to hear from you, and it's great news that you got hydrated and theres no leak! Try to keep sipping all day long and maybe no more ER trips. I hope the nausea meds help you. I know it's hard to eat or drink with nausea. Keep us updated and feel better!!

Still fighting the blood sugar .. help :(
KellyL replied to Tamz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thats only a couple days, so other than going liquids only, I don't know what else to suggest. I would not advise increasing meds without dr approval. I'm sorry, I know you are worried, but your health has to come before the surgery. I hope it lowers in time for your surgery, I know it's frustrating!! Good luck! -
Congrats on being sleeved!!! I'm glad you had a good experience and easy recovery! :cheer2:

I think there was some debate on Obesityhelp and some were saying it's not the best choice butI don't remember how or why this might be so. With the fruit, you could make some of that dip made with cream cheese, greek yogurt, and vanilla extract. The yogurt would give you some protein. I'm sorry I can't be more help, I never have been a fruit person but my daughter is, and she likes that dip. Now peas squash, and okra I love! -
Theres also the popsicles and jello from the clear liquids stage. Popsicles saved me pre and post op liquid diets. Plain Greek Yogurt you can add different things to like sf pudding. My fav is the white chocolate and cheesecake. I also add peanut butter to my vanilla protein shakes with a little vanilla extract flavoring. That's all I can think of but search this site and/or google for more ideas. Good luck!! It's worth it!

Awesome news!!! :hippie:

You can do it!!! I know the pre-op is hard, probably the most difficult part. Try not to put yourself in tempting situations and distract yourself with other activities. Read all the success stories. Go on other sites like Obesityhelp and look at all the before and after pics there and here to stay motivated! We're here for you!!! :hippie:

Okay, Freaking out time!!! Sugery Monday AM
KellyL replied to mnbsleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Take a deep breath! I did the same thing, but after another couple of days of seriously weighing the risks, I deciided to go thru with it. I had waited way too long to get this done, and I was more more afraid to NOT have the surgery and for my health to continue to decline. I know it's scary. But the risks of complications are low. And everyone that has complications that I have seen always get better and still don't regret getting sleeved. Dehydration is serious but all you have to do is try to get as much fluid in as possible and watch your urine color. Having said that, you have to feel comfortable with your decsion. But I wanted to let you know you are not alone. We all had the last min jitters. -

I love PB too, I've added it to my vanilla protein shakes with a lil vanilla extract. It's good! Thanks for the cookie idea, sounds great.

You're diet looks ok. I lowered my blood glucose significantly by doing no sugar, low carb and cutting portions. It went lower with my pre-op liquid diet. Then post op it was normal. I'm going on 3 wks post op and its stayed normal so far. The metformin should help lower it. I hope you get to have surgery on schedule!

Congrats on your revision tomorrow!!! Good luck for a speedy recovery!! :cheer2:
