Haha! I like 80's fashion! But you really do deserve to treat yourself to some new stuff! The main thing is, you feel good in your clothes. Congrats on the weight loss!

Your post is very motivating!! Wow, you downloaded a lot of exercise videos, makes for a good variety so you don't get bored! Where do you download and how much $ if you don't mind my asking? I was just wondering if it's the same price as buying them somewhere. You GO girl!

At 6 wks out your swelling has probably gone away inside your sleeve, allowing for more food/drink. 1 1/2 T is very little food, unless he was talking about dense protein/meat. Shakes and yogurt you may not feel as much restriction so you may be able to drink a good bit. But dense protein should be a different story. I would definitely measure everything and at this early point I would not be eating any kind of bread. Not just because of calories, but it swells inside your tummy. For me, if I started even a little bread at this point, it would progress to more and more in the near future, which would kinda defeat why I had this surgery. I know I will eventually have a little bread on special occasions, but way further out, not during the "honeymoon" stage. Good luck!

I have a Gazelle Glider that is great, because I have a bad back/hip problem, and it's easy on my joints. I have also been seeing tons of exercise stuff at yardsales lately. I am considering getting the Wii Fit since I already have the Wii system.

Surgery in two days and I'm in tears
KellyL replied to imawhodat's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's normal to swing back and forth with emotions, I think most of us did this too. It's very natural! A lot of people mourn food, but I really didn't because I knew I would be able to eat my favorites eventually, just not as often or in huge amounts. And with the hunger hormone gone or greatly reduced, it makes the changes so much easier. -
The kind of sleeve and staples used
KellyL replied to dallasmom's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Dr Kelly uses 34 french oversewn. While I have extreme restriction with dense food, I was very happy I had no problem drinking and getting in fluids well immediately after being released from the hospital. I did not wanna struggle with staying hydrated. As far as I know the staples are titanium. I don't know the brand name. Good luck!! -

I read somewhere as high as 85% of obese folks have a hiatal hernia. So pretty common for wls candidates to have one.

How Easy Is It to Stretch The Sleeve?
KellyL replied to hotterndonutgrease's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I try to measure, use very small plates/containers. And i think someone said our meat shouldnt be bigger than the palm of our hand. The bougie is a tool the drs use to shape and size our sleeves during surgery. -
Canned chicken breast was dry to me even pre-op. Rotisserie chicken or cooking in the crockpot with cream of chicken or mushroom might be easier to eat.
-
Nichole, congrats on being sleeved!!! I'm glad you seem to be having an easy recovery! So happy for ya!! :cheer2:
-
Have you had it since surgery? Did you have problems pre-op? Is it only when you eat certain things like milk products? You could try a probiotic and/or yogurt in case your good/bad bacteria in your tummy is out of balance. If it persists you should call your dr, but the sleeve itself shouldn't be contributing to this since theres nothing done to the intestines. Good luck and i hope you get it resolved!!

How Easy Is It to Stretch The Sleeve?
KellyL replied to hotterndonutgrease's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you been feeling restriction with other meats or eggs? Did you feel full or uncomfortable from eating 7-8 oz? I really don't think theres a way in 3.5 wks you could have stretched your sleeve, but it's possible your swelling has gone down in your sleeve giving you more room. I am 4 wks out, but I pretty much measure everything. I haven't really started on solid meat yet. Do you have any idea what size bougie you have? -
