I really need some help!
KellyL replied to MsNewBooty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It does take a while to get adjusted. I measure everything and when you are first eating mushies/solids you have to eat fairly often to get in enough protein. Some people still have some swelling too. I used the timer on my phone to remind me when to eat or drink. If you use myfitnesspal on your pc or phone it helps you see how much of calories, protein, etc you are getting in. -

1 week, 17 pounds!!! OMG
KellyL replied to xercisegirl's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That's fantastic!!! I think we all struggle with the fear of failing or not losing fast, or as fast as we want to. But we have to work on our mental issues while the sleeve helps us work on the physical. You're gonna do great! -
6 wks out and i can't loose more lbs.
KellyL replied to c_gargano's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It happens to a lot of us. My scale just started moving again yesterday after 3 wks of the same weight. But I can tell with my rings and clothes and peoples remarks that I was still getting smaller. I knew pre-op that this is how it would be. I had lost 35 lbs before surgery and had a very very long stall. What makes it harder is everyone keeps asking me everyday how much I've lost. I hate to keep saying the same amount!! My hubby has assured me they keep asking because it looks like I've lost more. I just stop weighing and focus on getting the protein in, have faith it's gonna happen, and think positive. -
I finally made it to Onederland

2 Major Issues - Advice Please :)
KellyL replied to june13sleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will get better everyday, but you have to keep a drink with you constantly to remind yourself to drink. Carry a bottle every where you go. I set the timer on my phone to remind myself to drink or eat. Liquids are more important than protein early out. But it takes planning to get everything in, especially if you are working. String cheese is a good thing to take. I am not sure about the incision pain but it seems you would run fever with an infection. Maybe its the stich pulling or on a nerve. If it doesn't ease up, i would insist on treatment. Congrats on being sleeved!! Just take everything one day at a time. -
Congrats, you have done amazingly well. Thanks for sharing your success, it's very inspiring!! :cheer2:

When you were able to start eating regular solid food, what did you eat?
KellyL replied to juzmejnee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I usually measure everything still. 2-3 oz meat. 1/2 protein bar at a time. I use myfitnesspal on my phone to log everything and generally get in 600-800 calories in a day, but I focus the most on getting the protein in. 70-80 is my protein goal and carbs low, usually under 30. The small amts are pretty satisfying too thanks to my sleeve. -

KellyL replied to juzmejnee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, my favorite things to eat right now are the Sam's Choice Stuffed Chicken Breasts, they are filled with various things like cheese, mushrooms, spinach, bacon. 34-37g protein each but I can't eat a whole breast. I make 2 meals out of one. I also like eggs, boiled or scrambled. Pure protein bars. Buffalo chicken with greek yogurt and a little bleu cheese dressing. Cottage cheese. String cheese. Refried Beans w/ qeuso mexican dip cheese, shredded colby monterry jack cheese, verde salsa, and greek yogurt. I am getting stuff to make bacon wrapped shrimp soon. Also will be making meatloaf and looking for an easy asian meatball recipe as we speak lol. On the meatloaf and meatballs I am going to freeze a lot for future meals in ziplock bags in small portions. -
Hmmm. I don't know the carbs on these but pre pre-op I used to use the sun-dried tomato wheat thins then top em with cheese and mini pepperoni or diced ham for tiny pizzas. ETA: you can microwave a few seconds to melt the cheese

Yeah, it's called Vanity sizing! There's a thread around here somewhere discussing this. I just can't imagine being in single digit sizes!!
-
Sorry to y'all that are on pre/post op liquids!! This will be helpful to you soon!!
-
Thanks for all the input and ideas, they sound great!! The only way I've ate shrimp and fish in the past has been the battered and deep fried variety lol. So I am not very creative. This all sounds yummy! I will definitely give them a try.

Thank you!! I wanted to check before I bought it.

The K20 mixes are usually in the pharmacy area of my Walmart around the diet stuff and protein shakes. They also have fiber in them. My Walmart only carries the kiwi strawberry flavor.
