    im truly struggling

I'm so sorry you are struggling. You should have been provided with a post op diet to follow. Most of the time it is liquids. Your tummy needs to heal properly, and you need to follow it to protect your staple line while it's healing. It could ease up some of the throwing up too. If you eat too fast or the wrong things, it will most definitely reject what you have put into it. Focusing on water/liquids to drink early out is very important. Dehydration is a serious problem, and can also cause nausea. How much water are you drinking and what food stage are you on? Did they give you anti-nausea meds? Are you on a PPI? Like Prilosec, Prevacid, Nexium???? I do hope you feel better soon!

  8. I am 7 wks out and on solids now. I don't know what stage you're dr has you on, but here is my answer to other similar questions: My favorite things to eat right now are the Sam's Choice Stuffed chicken Breasts, they are filled with various things like cheese, mushrooms, spinach, bacon. 34-37g Protein each but I can't eat a whole breast. I make 2 meals out of one. I also like eggs, boiled or scrambled. Pure Protein Bars. Buffalo chicken with greek yogurt and a little bleu cheese dressing. Cottage cheese. String cheese. Refried Beans w/ qeuso mexican dip cheese, shredded colby monterry jack cheese, verde salsa, and greek yogurt. I am getting stuff to make bacon wrapped shrimp soon. Also will be making meatloaf and looking for an easy asian meatball recipe as we speak lol. On the meatloaf and meatballs I am going to freeze a lot for future meals in ziplock bags in small portions. Also I am at my sis's for 4th of July weekend. I have eaten Pork BBQ with white sauce, baked beans, brunswich stew, grilled hotdogs(no bun), etc. All in small amts of course. I can do well with just about any meat as long as it's not dry and i have a sauce or dip for it. I hated dry or overcooked meat pre-op too. I also make mini cheese cakes that I use 2 pkgs cream cheese, 3 eggs, vanilla, and artificial sweetner. My daughter loves these too, because she just had her wisdom teeth cut out. Here's a recent grocery list of mine, I posted in another thread: Eggs String Cheese Provolone cheese slices Swiss cheese slices Shredded cheese(colby-m jack) Cottage cheese Fage Greek yogurt Tuna Chicken(both frozen & canned) Meatballs Sams Choice Stuffed Chicken Brst Refried beans Queso cheese dip Ground chuck Ribeye Shrimp Bacon Taco mix Hidden valley ranch mix au jus sauce (for meatloaf, stews, etc) Cajun spices Pure Protein Bars Bacon Mini pepperoni Cubed Ham Cream cheese Stevia or truvia Peanut Butter Babybel cheese Laughing cow cheese Lipton Diet Green Tea Citrus
  9. Yesterday, I wore a bathing suit and shorts in public for the first time in many many yrs! For the first time in a long time, I didn't feel everyone was staring at me in disgust. Thank you Sleeve and Dr Kelly!! <3

  10. Are you on an acid reducer/PPI??? If you have eaten and still feel hungry afterwards or too soon after eating, then it could be acid. The acid reducer helps significantly. It won't feel like heartburn, but a rumbling, hungry feeling. Keep measuring foods, as someone said, you will feel more restriction with dense protein during solids stage. But I have to eat every 2-3 hrs too, call em meals or snacks, but to get in the amount of protein we are suppose to get, I have to do that. Later on, it might be possible to get enough protein in 3 meals, but early out it's difficult.

    Frozen shrimp?

Hi, I've had the taste for shrimp but don't live where I can get fresh. Has anyone tried the frozen kind at Walmart, and is it good or nasty? Any good ways to prepare it or recipes? I saw a recipe in a magazine for bacon wrapped shrimp that sounded good. Thanks for any ideas!

    Tummy Trouble

Any fever or abdominal pain? Have you ever been tested for H Pylori? Have you added any new foods or spices to your diet recently? Did you go back to the same ppi you were on before? Same dosage? Doing liquids for a day or so may help, If it doesn't get better soon may want to see your dr. Hope you get better soon!
  16. Full fat for me for the same reasons the others listed.

    UPSET after surgery

I'm so sorry, I know it must be difficult!! But just think of it this way: You may be losing a few wks of your summer getting to do fun things, but you are gaining yrs of better health, easier mobility, which = many many good quality times with your family!!! I can already do so much more with my family, and I still have a good bit of weight to lose. I can't wait to be free of my prison of fat completely! It has held me AND my family back for so long. Your precious girls are gonna absolutely LOVE their happier, healthier, more energetic mommy.
  19. You look great!! I can see the difference.
  20. I think you are doing fantastic!!'. I was recently reading the thread of how the Jan sleevers were doing, and most of them were at 50-60 lbs lost. You are right there with them and only 3 mo post-op!!! So you try to get in around 85g protein? I usually get close to 80, i may need to increase that. Have you experienced any long stalls? Congrats on your success!!!

    Here we go again...

There seems to be a lot of stuff posted recently about potassium. I think Gatorade or G2 helps balance electrolytes. I hope you get it resolved soon!!
  22. Wow its gorgeous and so are you!!
  23. Are you on an acid reducer? Still on liquids? Liquids stage is really difficult, and I did have some hunger then. It should get betrer when you move to the mushy stage. But acid can induce hunger like symptoms too. Protein drinks help too.
  24. I can't confirm, but I hope it's true!!! I don't have that Ins and I am post-op and self-paid, but it would definitely help so many others! I hope we hear some more good news on this! Thanks!
