    Considering instead of placation

Hi, I was in the hospital for 3 days and a nice hotel for 2 nites(well actually 1 but 2 are included in the price). Dr Kelly was my surgeon and I had Trish as a coordinator. She is actually right there in TJ. I had very little pain and no nausea. I had a very quick and easy recovery, no problems or complications. I am not sure what current prices are, but my cost was $5500 + flight. My day by day experience is on my profile in the "about me" section. I was very happy with Dr Kelly, Trish, and my whole MX experience! And I love my sleeve!! Good luck!!
  9. It could be acid, a lot of people use the PPI's up to 3-6 months post-op. Some even longer. It depends on a lot of things, such as the size of you sleeve, post-op swelling, "false hunger pains", nausea, etc. I am 3 months post op, and have stopped taking them with no problems yet. But I don't have any info on the habit forming aspect. Whatever you are feeling may be acid, but I don't believe anything you did caused a permanent acid problem. It's fairly common to use acid reducers for a while post op. Hope you feel better and you may want to see a dr about the problem you are having. Good luck!
  10. Who is your coordinator?? I would not go with a dr that I had not been able to research or if I didn't feel 100% comfortable. I would contact Trish directly and let her know your situation and verify what has happened. Perhaps she can ask Dr Kelly his advise on the situation, They may be able to help you out some way. It doesn't make sense they would schedule you then schedule a meeting the same day. Good luck!

    dr garcia in tijuana

I don't know anything about Dr Garcia, sorry. But I highly recommend Dr Kelly in Tijuana MX. I was sleeved in May with him. I had a wonderful experience. Very little pain, no nausea, etc. His coordinator Trish is right there in TJ also, and is very helpful and will do everything she can for you. You can read my day by day experience on my profile in the "about me" section if you're interested. Good luck!!

    After Surgery Shock

You may have grouchy moments, and be more blunt because you won't be able to eat those emotions away. It's definitely an adjustment. I feel like I am having to learn how to communicate at. 47 yrs old. But I am actually enjoying it now. It's nice standing up for myself for a change. No longer a doormat for the world. It's a learning process. But I am not hungry at all. That's the great part. I am loving my sleeve!

    Oh no! I swallowed it!

No, I don't think it's going to hurt anything.
  14. Amazing!! You look absolutely fabulous!! Congrats!! :cheer2:

    Just a question regarding eating

Agreed, you really need to focus on the liquids. You don't want to become dehydrated. Theres the G2, Powerade Zero, propel, Crystal Light, etc. It sounds like you still have a lot of swelling. This usually goes away by wk 4-6. You may want to discuss this with your dr if things don't get easier soon.
  17. You're welcome!! Thanks for reading it :)

    Back at Home

Congrats on being sleeved and being home!
  19. When i searched chobani the peach fat free came up in the list, not sure whats up. I have the app on my iphone. I like myfitnesspal cuz it has the largest food database.
  20. Yes I agree, if the scales are driving you crazy, then you need to stop weighing, especially numerous times a day. I would actually suggest weekly over daily weigh ins. The other issue is more of a concern. Try to get more water and fiber in. If not getting fiber thru food, then put benefiber in everything. Hopefully that will help you. If not call your dr.

    backing out

It is very natural to be afraid before this surgery. I know I went through this too. I was more afraid to not have the surgery than to have it. My health, mobility, and self esteem was suffering and getting worse everyday. My weight was not just holding me back, it was affecting my whole family. I couldn't do a lot of things, and family trips like amusement parks didn't happen because I wasn't physically able to do that. Just simple grocery shopping was almost impossible!! I was disabled by my weight. A prisoner in my home. A prisoner of fat. I am so glad I found the courage to be sleeved. I am far from goal, but I love my sleeve!! The quality in my life has improved dramatically in a short amount of time. My type 2 duabetes seems to be gone. I can walk a lot and shop all day at the mall with my kids. I am not as self conscious of how I look. I feel like I have reclaimed my life. I am worth it and deseeve to be healthy and happy. It's ok to love and take care of myself. Bottom line though, you have to feel ready to do this and comfortable with the process. We're here for you and know exactly what you're goin thru.
  22. Awesome news on an easy recovery!! Congrats on being sleeved!
  23. You look great!!! Congrats, thats amazing, so happy for you. :cheer2:
