    VSG??? Scared... :'(

:welcome: Hello and welcome!! Wow, you had a difficult time with the band. I've read this a lot on the boards, but maybe not as bad as your case. You may have already asked, but does Medicaid cover revisions? If so, do they cover the sleeve as a revision to option? I know all states are different, but my state would not cover the sleeve, only Lap Band or RNY. They would also only cover WLS one time. Your case and your state may be different. I also agree, you should find a good and experienced surgeon that has experience with a patient that had a lapband. Make sure you are healed enough, and how extensive the damage was and how much scar tissue you have. As far as acid reflux, this can be a problem immediately post op. I would try to find out if you have a hiatal hernia and most drs can repair at the same time you get sleeved. Most drs put you on a PPI for 3-6 months while your sleeve heals to protect the suture line and to reduce any acid problems. I am 3 mo post op and have discontinued the PPI. So far no problems. Good luck!!

    Three Months Out - Pics!

    Congrats, you look fabulous!!
  5. I was going to recommend probiotics too, and you will probably have to do this in pill form if you can't eat the yogurts. I would discontinue any protein shakes and try to get all your protein from food. I hope this helps you, i have IBS but its gotten better for me since being sleeved (except for first 2 wks). I believe i had a yeast overgrowth cuz i had thrush on my tongue immediately post op. So i did probiotics and those little bottles of liquid yogurts called Dan Active. It seemed to cure me. Goid luck!!
  6. Yes, sounds right to me. Your swelling probably hasn't gone down yet. You will probably be able to get in a little more between 4-6 wks or so.
  7. Everything will be ok, and things WILL get better. You're still in pain and making adjustments on eating and drinking are not easy in the beginning. Try to stay hydrated, and add in protein how and where you can. I'm sorry, I don't have answers for you on the insurance question. I will say through my own experience with 4 different insurance companies, what we think they should do or what is fair...isn't always what they do. I wish you well on that and hope it works out for you. I haven't regretted my decision to be sleeved for one sec, even immediately post-op. I didn't have a lot of pain. But we are all different and tolerate pain differently. I've been waiting many yrs to have the surgery though, and thought it might not ever actually happen. So I am very grateful to have a chance at a healthier life. As things become easier, and you adjust to this way of eating, I hope you become happier with your decision. Good luck!!

    Mexico of bust!

Thanks!! I did it cause I know how anxious I was about the surgery AND going to MX. It can be a bit overwhelming! I wanted to share exactly how everything is. Good luck and keep me updated on how things go and how you're doing.
  9. Congrats on your weight loss, you are doing great! Thanks for the update.
  10. I had a very easy recovery too, and felt really good. I was very surprised! I felt very blessed and grateful.

    Two months out with PICS

    Congrats, you look fabulous!
  13. This doesn't sound right to me at 4 wks. No, you shouldn't be throwing up everything. I would call the dr, see why you're having these problems.
  14. You can try myfitnesspal on the pc or a phone app its great with a huge food database. It's easy and helps a lot.
  15. If it's happening with everything, you need to call your dr. They will probably need to do tests. Are you on a PPI? I would get on one asap if not. It might be acid. Feel better!!
  16. Congrats!! Good luck to you!

    I love Chipolte!

I've never been there, but it sounds delicious! I do enjoy trying to find healthier options when we go out. I don't feel deprived at all.
  18. I'm sorry you're going through a rough time. I never was able to do any protein mixes, but i did ok with the ready to drink ones like Atkins. My fav was vanilla. They have 15g protein. I preferred the more bland taste of the vanilla even tho normally i would like chocolate. Further out I did like the mocha latte one. Your tummy is just more sensitive this early. People talk about the premier from Costco and the Pure Protein ones have 35g protein, but i used atkins cuz they were at my local Walmart so more convenient for me and I was just happy to find one that i liked. Good luck, don't give up!!!
  19. Definitely a difference, you look great in both pics!!
  20. Have you been running fever? Even if you haven't, I wouldn't take chances, I'd call the dr asap. I hope you feel better soon.

    My story....

:welcome: You've been thru quite a lot. Welcome to the forum and I hope you are healing and recovering quickly from being sleeved.
  22. Oh, I see. Sorry for misunderstanding. Thanks for sharing their story here.

    Brand, Spankin, New here!

:welcome: I love it here too, so glad we all found a way to come together and share our incredible journey. I wish you luck on getting a date for your sleeve soon!!
  24. I had the grouches when on the pre-op liquid diet for sure. Not as much post-op. I am 3 1/2 months post op and have no energy problems, feel great, and I have had no intolerances with any food at all. I can eat anything just way smaller portions and I feel just as satisfied as if I had eaten a lot more. The RNY is so different because of malabsorption. Your friend needs to have labwork done to see what she may be deficient in. They have to be really compliant with vitamins and sometimes have to go in for iron via IV. Dehydration can also be a problem with any WLS if you aren't getting in enough fluids. I have had no complications or problems, my type 2 diabetes seems to be in remission and I can already do so much more with my family. I love my sleeve!!

I ate 2 Del Taco Tacos

I'm not sure, but it seems there was time between the first 3 bites, then you waited to finish til after the gro was put away. Then a little later you had the other taco. If you drank with the meal it probably helped it all slide thru. I try really hard to not let myself get too hungry. I try to eat every 3 hrs some kind of protein so I am not so hungry that I over eat.
