Miscarried. And Heartbroken :-( How To Get Back On Track?
KellyL replied to Miters36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sweetie, I'm so sorry to hear about the miscarriage You have done a very good job of losing your weight, I have no doubt that you will reach your goals. Protein first, between 80+ grams a day, plus getting all your fluids in. A lot of people restrict carbs, some say under 30. Some can have more and still lose. I would play around with that to see what works for you. Tracking with myfitnesspal helps to keep track of all this. Good luck, and honestly, you've done so well, I think you should be giving me advise. Hugs! -

Did I Hurt My New Belly, Pain After Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
KellyL replied to Felicia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not sure, hopefully you didn't do any harm and just overdid things a bit. Just try to take it easy, I know it's difficult when there's so much to do. But you gotta give yourself time to heal. Take care and please update of what you end up doing or what the dr says. -
I had a good bit of hair loss beginning at 4 months out, despite getting more than enough protein and I was on Biotin way before my surgery date. So I started making sure I took my multi w/Iron daily and added in Silica, because I read that Iron deficiency could also cause hair loss and silica would help with the hair loss problem too. I am a few days short of being 7 months out now and my hair loss has slowed way down, actually seems to have stopped. I am hoping I am finished losing, because it IS scary no matter how prepared we think we are for this side effect of weight loss surgery. I know we naturally lose around 30 a day with or without surgery, so I am hoping that's the case for me now. I have a lot of new growth coming in. All we can do is make sure we keep our protein, Iron, and other vitamins in check, but most people that I know experience the problem and there's hundreds of posts on these forums about it. I haven't heard of anyone going totally bald yet. *fingers crossed* that I don't go bald lol. Good luck!!

Disappointed About Weight Loss
KellyL replied to MrsPrissBecky's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Getting back to basics would be a start. Protein first, not eating more than 3-4 oz at a time. Using a food tracker such as myfitnesspal on your computer or phone is the easiest way to track your calories, carbs, protein, etc. -

Wow, you look awesome!! Congrats on your amazing transformation, it's very inspiring!! :cheer2: -
I'm sorry for your disappointment and frustration, and believe me I know exactly what you are feeling and going through, cuz I went through the same thing for years. It wasn't fun at all, I went through a lot of sadness and depression over not being able to have surgery. Income Tax time is just around the corner, is it possible to use a tax refund to pay all or some of the cost? That is actually how I paid for the majority of my surgery. Good luck to you, and please don't give up!

So a few pics finally . . .

Congrats on the amazing results, you look awesome!! -
I saw it too, but can't help but wonder if it's still in a way telling us how easy both gaining and losing really is, and how we could all do this if we really tried. Most of us with weight problems all of our lives, do not have a "normal" persons metabolism, and a lot of times there is a hormonal reason behind our weight issues. Some of us have Diabetes or insulin resistance. We are all different of course. I just feel this is going to turn into a "see how easy it is, now everybody lose weight" kind of lecture for us. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just have a hard time believing that any normal person with a normal metabolism can really relate to our issues. Just my opinion though, and I hope I'm wrong and a lot of positive things come out of it.
