    6 Month Diet

Yes, my surgeon's office gave me a form to give to my PCP. They made 6 copies of it and we filled it out each month.
  3. I feel your pain Shelli, the same thing happened to me. I'm planning a trip to an amusement park 6 months postop as part of my "hello me" tour. :-)
  4. I'm honestly looking forward to a little bit of downtime before surgery. The first part of the 6 months seemed to just crawl along. But now that I'm getting into all the requirements and having to make all these appointments, time is flying by. I am by no means a patient person either. Once I make my mind up on something, lets get it done! I hope everything goes well for you.

    Psych Eval

Has anyone ever been denied due to psych eval? I haven't been through mine yet but just setup the appointment. I was told it would be a 45 minute interview and then 2 units of testing. My coordinator said that it is rare for someone to be denied due to the eval.

    Approved!

My Dr. shared some interesting facts with us during the seminar. The national mortality rate for the sleeve is about the same as gallbladder surgery. If your gallbladder needed to be removed would you hesitate? He also said that the mortality rates for centers of excellence are even lower. Personally, I am more afraid for life after surgery ... not the surgery itself.
  7. I'm with you IMSKINNY. The surgeon already requires a lot of testing just to have the surgery. I would be surprised if they don't require you to have the sleep study anyway.
  8. Trying to stay up for the NASA Curiosity landing. Not sure if that is going to happen. #oldman

  9. Holy smokes I wish isopure tasted like G2, I could actually drink it! I haven't tried the powder yet but the liquid flavors take work for me to drink.
  10. Interesting ... My Doc said I could start weight lifting again at 2 weeks.

    Ive Cheated Every Day

I just want to add that my surgeon does not require a preop diet. However, weight gain is something that will cause him to cancel the surgery. I would be more concerned about where you are mentally going into a surgery that is life changing without being able to follow preop rules.

    6 Month Diet

Same thing happened to me! I always thought I was 5'10. Turns out I am 5'8.5. I feel short now.

    Bougie?

Are you talking about the tube they insert into the stomach during the SG to help guide the surgeon on the appropriate size to make the new sleeve?

    Insurance Problems

BS of CA had a 6 month exclusion on preexisting. Just so happens they also have a 6 month supervised so it didn't matter in the end.
  17. My truck came back with a brand new scratch on the opposite side and some strange looking glued protectant cover. WTF Abra!?! Ugh!!

    Low Testosterone?

I went in to see my PCP and talk about the VSG with them. As soon as I mentioned it, they wanted to run blood work to make sure everything was good. The results came back and he said my testosterone level was way under where it should be for a 24 yr old. Something like a 170. He then started talking about metabolic disorders and I kinda went blank. I had just got up the nerve to talk about VSG and now I have disorders! I am scheduled to see an endocrinologist next week. After doing some research online, a lot of the side effects make sense. So my questions are; has anyone had the same issue? Do the side effects get better with medicine? Will I have to have injections? Is there anything I should ask the endocrinologist? Could this have contributed to my size?
  19. Smokin' - Congratulations!
  20. My baby has her first boo boo! A cracked tail light and damaged quarter panel. I will admit that I cried a little inside. :( ... Now to wait on their insurance carrier to make her all better. Not the best start to a weekend.
