I would be glad to. -
You are looking great man! I'm down from 368 to 217 @ 7 months but things seem to have slowed down a lot for me. I'm trying to mix things up at the gym but have been in a two week stall. I'm debating on a personal trainer to really mix things up. Would you mind sharing what your doing?

High Blood Pressure prior to surgery
JonathanS replied to yologirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I really doubt it would be cancelled. I believe they only took my BP once on the day of surgery when I first got there and I'm sure it was high, I was nervous! I'm sure once they gave me that lovely little shot that it came down. -

High Blood Pressure prior to surgery
JonathanS replied to yologirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was diagnosed with high blood pressure but was only prescribed a Water pill since I was having surgery anyway. It was normally 160/120. I remember going to have my PICC line put in that the lady said I was 180/? and that I needed to calm down. Immediately after surgery my BP was normal. It has been normal ever since. I'm sure that the preop diet helped get a lot of the salt out of my system and I've been intaking very low sodium since. -

October Sleevers-How Ya Doin?
JonathanS replied to Holly5.3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i was sleeved on 10/17. Things seem to be going well. I'm down 56 pounds (83 total). I just got my gym membership last week and have my gym bag packed for tomorrow. I'm looking into a personal trainer as I want to start lifting and know nothing about it. I'm already seeing some skin issues in places. I'm hoping that the personal trainer can help with that. He seemed confident it would. Water is my kryptonite. I have to focus on it so much! It seems that if anything happens during the day that throws my routine off that I never can reach 64. However, protein is pretty good. I've been able to keep it around 65 - 85/day. Calories are around 600. Carbs are the hard part. I try hard to keep them under 20g. Everyone around me has been congratulating me on my weight loss and how much better I look ... just wish I could see it! Hope everyone is doing well on their journey! -

I Thought These Would Go Away....
JonathanS replied to PerfectlyImperfect's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
*sigh* ... even though I am a guy. I lost my butt too! It was funny when a coworker came up to me and said "boo, where did you hide your ass?" while looking for it. -

What Should I Take To The Hospital?
JonathanS replied to Yasmine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am right there with you. I packed all kinds of stuff and didn't use any of it. Chapstick was the only thing I brought from home that I used. Everything else the hospital supplied. Well, that and my phone charger. Good luck! -

October 17Th'ers.. Where Are Ya?

Mslnzee, I learned that lesson the hard way today too. I had two or three bites of tilapia and 1 cluster of crab legs. Needless to say I ate it way too quickly and it came back up. Throwing up is strange for me now. It isn't like it used to be. But more of just a hard burp. It didn't hurt but wasn't enjoyable. I felt so much better after. I'm going to have to start using my food scale because it is really hard for me to judge 2 oz. -

Unjury Unflavored has come highly recommended. However, I haven't tried it yet. It is amazing what we learn here! -

Mom3, are you mixing them yourself or using premixed? I have been using Premier Protein (Sam's Club) since surgery and have found it the easiest to tolerate. The ones I mixed myself in the shaker bottle just seemed full of air. -

Kmasden, I'm right on track with you. It only takes me about an hour to get down my shakes. I'm also eating about 1/3 c of soup. I can't say that it makes me full but I don't feel hunger after. I decided for me that I was going to try some tuna last night from the package (not can). I had about 2.5 oz. and 3 cheese crisps and had a nice satisfied sensation. The meal was 160 calories and 24g of Protein which is what a Protein shake is. Technically I'm a few days before my soft food phase but I have rationalized it that I'm only 25 and heal quickly ... lol. I have faith that in a few weeks when I start trying more substantial food that I will fill up quickly. I could have had 12 oz of tuna, 4 pieces of bread, and chips for a meal before surgery. -
Puree Vs Soft Foods
JonathanS replied to imlosingit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would like to know from someone that has been here too. I'm a huge texture person so it is very hard for me to puree anything. I have basically stuck with protein shakes & soup. My NUT said that we should progress with our stomach just like a baby would. We need to get it used to eating thicker and thicker foods. I already feel that something like tuna salad wouldn't bother me but I haven't taken that chance yet. The technical definition I was given is that if you put it in a cup, poke a hole with a pen at the bottom, it should drip through. -
Indeed. Mine had me start chewables right after surgery. Don't tell my surgeon, but I keep forgetting them! I'm going to have to get in a routine to remember 3 calcium, 1 multi, 2 actigal, & 1 antacid (can't remember the name). I'm not really used to taking medicine other then my 1 a day blood pressure.

Congratulations! Keep up the great work!
