Hi - I think everyone is a little different from a pain tolerance perspective plus everyones surgery situation can vary. As for my experience, I was very muscle sore the first 3 days and swollen and "sore" at the incision sites the first week but was off pain meds by day 4 due to an allergic reaction. You sound like you have quite a bit of pain but that may be unique to your surgery situation. If it continues, you may want to let you doctor know just as a precaution. Good luck to you. Wonderful journey ahead.. -

Thanks Tim. I used the HTML code. I will copy the BBCODE and see where it gets me. Appreciate the help. -

OK - I feel like an ignoramus. I pasted the link in the 'signature" section of my profile and it displays the code itself and not the graphic.. Where did I mess up? -

OK - I followed the instructions. Let's see if it shows up. Thanks for the assistance. -
Dustin - I had my surgery 9 days ago. I don't remember anything about the breathing tube at all. The worst thing for me was the thirst. I basically went more than 24 hours without liquid. The paid was manageable - keep on the pain meds for at least 3 days. I think it helps you get mobile and walking which is important. The recovery has been easy and so far I have no regrets. Good luck and God Bless!

Thanks for taking the time to respond. From the responses I received, at least I know this is somewhat normal. BTW - how the heck do I add by weight tracker. I have the link and created by own but I cannot figure out where to store it in my VSG Talk profile. Thanks, in advance. Debbie -

Thank you for the response. The meds impacting my sense of taste/smell makes sense. I don't really mind it as I am less interested in food as a result. Yes - 10 days post op and on "pureed" foods ( not solids). So far I have only had egg......not sure what will happen as I add pureed chicken, etc. Are you a sleeve pateint or gastric bypass (this surgery has you on liquids for I think 5-6 weeks). -
You need to do what is right for you but I will tell you I know how you feel. I went in for my sleeve surgery last Thursday. I went into the hospital at 8 but my surgery was not until 10:30. I had too much time to think. When they took me into pre-op, I started to second guess myself and had visions of running out of the hospital (I spent 8 months preparing and researching). I just prayed for strength and kept reminding myself of all the reasons why the surgery my sense. Well, here I am 10 days later and even though it is early on, I can say I know this was the best/right choice for me. I am healing rapidly and ate my first solid/pureed food this morning with no issues. You need to weigh the quality of your life and health as it is against what is will be. I have no regrets. I will you well!

Hello - I am 10 days post op and amazingly excited about the future. I did have my first solid (pureed) food today, a egg with sliver of lf cheese. I noticed food just does not taste like it used too. Good but nothing special. My sense of smells is also very sensitive. Is the dull tastebud syndrome normal and does this go away? What about the sensitive smeller? Thanks, in advance, for the feedback.
