All things considered, it isnt about the calories or the sugar. its about the bubbles. Those bubbles given enough expansion and contraction have the ability to distend(stretch) your sleeve. If that happens you will be able to eat more and more, thus drinking more and more of the bubbly beverages and the cycle continues. My thing is, and this is just an opinion, youve gone through so much, and if you live in the US youve paid quit a bit of money for this sleeve. Youve been to hell and back why ruin it? You are free to do as you wish, just remember what got you into the "i need weight loss surgery" category.

Well, its not physically possible to binge eat with a sleeve. Thats assuming you dont like vomiting. The strong desires for food will be gone due to the fact that the part of your stomach that controls the hormone releases indicating hunger have been removed. If food is your comfort for something that you are emotionally making up for, not to be harsh but definitely consider meeting with someone who can help you address those issues. I say this, not to be rude or condescending but, statistics show that people who undergo WLS and arnt emotionally stable tend to run into major issues emotionally. No harm in putting first things first.

*7* Truths Post-Op
chicagoanthony replied to BZButterfly79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1) I still get hungry feelings...after 5 hours of not eating 2) i am having regular bowl movements 3) I still hate Protein shakes, but im getting by. 4) I can eat eggs 5) I eat around 5oz per meal 6) most of my back pain has subsided 7) blood pressure came in today at 120/75(without medication) 2 weeks to the day post op. -
Well, give this a shot 10oz skim milk=10g Protein 1/3cup dried milk=8g of protein 1 bag of swiss miss hot cocoa mix=1g protein just about 20grams of protein in 10oz of liquid the Protein shakes weren't sitting well with my stomach, so i tried this and the nutritionist said it was a good idea. Do this 3x a day and BAM 60g of protein Also, if you can try to add 2oz of tuna into your diet thats around 10g of protein. possibly some cheese thats 4-8g protein. my surgeon said, protein is my number one goal. so everything i eat or drink has some protein in it. 4 glasses of milk per day =80g of protein and everything else is just to get me to that 100g mark. Also throw some yogurt in that mix! hope this helps

pro's / con's to being honest about having surgery
chicagoanthony replied to newmefeb8's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, i waited until the day before surgery to talk to my family. They were semi supportive. But, it was never up to them. People can poke and prod into your personal life with their opinions but at the end of the day these statements are true You have to live your life You have to make the most of your life You can never please everyone Do what you think is the best decision. Vertical sleeve hindsight is 20/20 but there are no "re-dos" In my opinion, you get one chance. just one, to make the most of this life. Give yourself the best fighting chance. Being obese, is a problem. If you can get it fixed, fix it . Be happy in your own skin, your the only one whos in it. -Tony -

Is anyone having problems with bowel movement?
chicagoanthony replied to valleygirl's topic in Food and Nutrition
Consider mixing in a supplement like "benefiber" with your protein shake or water. Fiber never hurt anyone -

It took them 4 business days to give me the approval. If they keep giving you issues, dont forget the law is on your side. Consider a lawyer. Just a suggestion. -
