My new bladder...is this okay?
soon2bsleeved replied to decamom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As we lose weight, the pressure on the bladder is also decreased, perhaps this is why. I also used to go way more frequently than I do now. Cheers -
Surgery Yesterday
soon2bsleeved replied to DivaDee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too lol! I was sleeved last Friday june 24th and the first few days were horrible. Constant vomiting, nausea, couldn't even suck on an ice cube without throwing it back up. I was cursing the forums (only briefly lol), wondering why nobody told me it was going to be like that haha. Then as quick as it came, it was gone and by 4 days post op i was feeling much much better. Today I am 1 week out and have lost 12 lbs since surgery. i feel great, just a little sore, like I did a bunch of sit ups, and can eat pretty well, although I am still on full liquid diet for another week. I just kept telling myself it has to get better than this, and sure enough it did. Congrats on your surgery and in a few days you won't care about those first bad ones! Cheers -

June 22 Surgery date
soon2bsleeved replied to MissyJ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sometimes it helps me to think about all the pre op testing that we had to go through. I was thinking about this just yesterday. I had back surgery 2 years ago and I wasn't screened as carefully back then as I was for this surgery. I mean they have tested me for everything, I have had a sleep study, scope, chest x-ray, blood work, stress test, and EKG, so they have made sure that we are fit for surgery. And of course there is always putting our faith in the hands of something greater. Everything happens for a reason, and we've been given this opportunity to do something with it. What sort of liquids will you be allowed on your pre op diet? I have 4 diabetic Boosts or Glucerna per day. Up to 1200 cal, 60-80 gm Protein, and 100-130 gm of carbohydrates I am allowed broth, fat free yogurt, Jello and pudding and popsicles to make up to the 1200 cal. It's not too bad, I like to blend them with skim milk makes them taste more like chocolate milkshakes mmmmm. -
