You look beautiful! So proud of you girl, you got this!
  3. Guess I'm a slow loser! I started at 266 lbs, and at 6 months I am down 71 lbs. But I have lost steadily with no real stalls, and only have 45 lbs until goal, so I am happy! Good luck to you!

    February 25 Check In

Hello friends! I weighed 195 lbs Saturday morning, making me down 2.7 lbs this week. I am still losing steadily with no real stalls, but it is definitely slowing down. I am not complaining though, at least it is still going down! Libbe, I think you are doing wonderful! Your body is healing from such a major trauma, plus you are close to goal, so it could be moving slower than you would like. But it sounds like you are doing what you're supposed to do, and if you keep that up there is no way you won't get there! So proud of how strong you have been through your ordeal, I know you can do this! Debbie, I am so glad you are feeling back on track! I had a few days this week where I too was feeling less than successful, but I really do feel that we can do this, and that a few poor choices will not stand in our way. And I am so thankful for this forum, in particular this topic. You all are what keeps me focused. I look forward to our Saturday check in each week so I can see how you each are doing! Have a great week All-Stars!!! We may be 6 months out, but we still got this!

    One-Year Surgiversary

I am so proud of you! You have done amazingly well, and are such an inspiration to me. I have really enjoyed reading your posts over the past year, I think you have such a great attitude about this whole crazy journey we are on. Sometimes we do well, other times not so much, but this is REAL LIFE and we just keep plugging along! I can only hope to be as successful as you. Thank you for sharing yourself with us, I know I appreciate it!

    February 18Th Weekly Check-In

My surgery was August 24, so I was 6 months out yesterday and I am down 70 lbs as of today. I started light exercise, mostly treadmill, about 6-8 weeks out from surgery and have slowly been increasing the intensity and adding in strength training. I weighed 266 lbs when I started the 2 week pre-op diet, weighed 258 lbs the day of surgery, and now weigh 196 lbs. My goal is 150 lbs (I am 5'7") so 46 lbs to go! I would recommend starting slow with exercise, treadmill for cardio and light strength training for muscle tone. The key for me has been to steadily increase the intensity each week so it doesn't get too easy and my body doesn't get bored. I have also started to mix it up a bit with classes such as boot camp. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions! I know I am not the fastest loser here, but I have lost very steady with no real stalls so I am happy with my progress. Most importantly, I am making changes to my eating and activity that are permanent. Best of luck to you!

    All These Emotions...

I felt much the same way before my surgery. Now, almost 6 months out, I no longer feel that failure is an option. The sleeve is not a magic wand BY ANY MEANS, you still have to put in the effort, but it is the tool I needed for my efforts to work. YOU CAN DO THIS!!! If you decide right here and now that you are commited to changing your life moving forward, no regrets and no looking back, then I believe you will succeed. Much luck to you!

    February 18Th Weekly Check-In

Good morning All Stars! I weighed 197.3 this am, I have actually been at this weight for 4 days now. This puts me down 1.2 lbs from last week. Not a great loss, but it's still a loss. I have increased the intensity of my workouts this week, hoping that will help rev things up a bit! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
  13. So sorry for your loss Coops, and thank you for the reminder to embrace life

    February 11 Check-In

Well my check-in today is for the past 2 weeks, because I was in Disney last week. I weighed 198.5 this morning, making me down 3.2 lbs over the past 2 weeks. I am very excited about this, because I definitely indulged some on vacation but still lost, and I am now in ONDERLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has been 10+ years since I have been here, and it feels sooo good to be back!
  15. Quest bars are my favorite, I eat one every day. Vanilla Almond is my favorite, soooo good! Not only are they delicious, but they have the most protein and fiber of any I have found, with no sugar alcohols. Love them!
  16. Morning All-Stars!!! How was everyone's week? I weighed 201.7 this am, making me down 2.2 lbs this week. I briefly hit 201.4 the other day, I have been bouncing around there for a few days. This is how I lose, after bouncing around the same few ounces I'll have a good drop. That's ok with me! I am getting very anxious though, Onderland is calling my name!!! I will be in Disney (!!!) next weekend, so I will check back in in 2 weeks!
  17. You're gorgeous! You have done an amazing job, good for you!

    6 Months Post Ops

I agree with you! Culvers is also my family's treat of choice, about 1-2x per month. I eat one chicken strip and about 4 fries; it satisfies my craving and I move on! I am 5 months out, and I don't think I eat much more that I did at 2 months out. Maybe a little, but I still have really good restriction. I hope it lasts, at least until I hit goal!

    How Different We Really Are

I like this topic! I am 5'7". My highest weight was 266, when I started the 2 week pre-op diet. I was wearing mostly 24s, some 22s, and 2x in tops. Day of surgery I weighed 258. I will be 5 months out in 2 days, and I now weigh 203 and wear a size 16 pants and L or XL tops. My goal is to weigh 150 and wear a size 8.

    January 21St Check In :)

Yay Libbe, that is GREAT news!!! I forgot to check-in last week, so my update is from the past 2 weeks. I am down 1.8 lbs from 2 weeks ago, weighing in at 203.9 this am. Not a great loss, but I have been dealing with severe constipation issues, and I am sure that is not helping. I will be 5 months out on Tues 1/24 and have not had one week yet where I didn't lose. I'll take it! Hope you all are having a fabulous weekend! Kristina
  23. Actually, everyone's surgeon and NUTs have different guidelines, and not all of them believe that carbs are evil. Most believe in a more realistic approach: protein first then GOOD carbs if there is room . This surgery is supposed to help us live a normal healthy life, and good carbs are a part of a balanced diet. I eat low carb 90% of the time, moderation is the key.
  24. I LOVE Skinnytaste!!! All of her recipes are delicious, well-balanced, and relatively simple to prepare. It has become my go-to site for recipes!
  25. You're only 4 weeks out, you'll get there. At that time, I was lucky if I hit 600 calories a day, usually about 500 and most of those calories came from 2 protein shakes. I am now 4.5 months out and have no trouble getting 800-1000 calories per day, usually in 4-5 mini meals. Just focus on protein and water while you are healing, and you will be fine. Good luck to you!
