About Me
I am a newly retred senior who has fought weight all my life. In my 30's and 40's I could manage it with diet and exercise, but as I get older it has not worked. I am a Weight Watcher Lifetime Member, have tried Optifast, Nutrisystgems, and common sense. In spite off all my efforts, I no longer could get below 200 pounds.
I had a cancer scare in December, and made a decision then that if I got good news, I would take drastic action to live a healthier life in the new year.
January 3rd I started researching doctors I could pay out of pocket. You see, the last 10 years I have been denied bariatric surgery by various insurance companies as I was not 'fat' enough or 'sick' enough. Now I decided to bite the bullet and do it myself.
I had the gastric sleeve installed January 27th and so far I am thrilled. I realize now that if I had the operation years ago I would have had the lap-band, and that is not really a perfect solution for me. This seems to me to be the perfect solution.
For those of you who are concerned about the operation, please know that I feel well, and hope to continue to do so.
