    ONEDERLAND AT LAST!!

Sweet! I have finally gotten to onederland myself! I am almost 3 months post-op and the weight loss has been slow and steady. I am so glad the scale is moving in the DOWN direction!!! I've had to get rid of some clothes (too big)! Happy dance today!
  2. I'm 48 years old and work in an office. Lots of computer work, but also walking to printer, other offices, meetings, etc. I started back to work today after taking 3 weeks vacation from the date of my surgery. I feel fine, and could have gone back last week. I was really just enjoying sleeping in and relaxing by the fire with my Kindle! My girlfriend came back to work after 1 week!
  3. I am two and a half weeks post op. I lost 15 pound the first week and a few days. Then I gained a pound - on a 300 calorie a day intake???? I have since lost that pound, now I'm stuck. What's up with this?

    One week Post op

I am also 7 days out. Tomorrow I am allowed to start eating Carnation intant breakfast, pudding, and creamed soups. I am SOOOO looking forward to something other than broth and jello and clear protein drinks. I bought sugar free dulce le leche pudding, sugar free chocolate and butterscotch pudding, cream of potato/chicken/asaragus/mushroom soup... I'm thinking this is GREAT! I'm sick of jello. I'm also moving from clear protein drinks to protein shakes. What a bonus! Ok, it's not pizza... but I can do anything for one day. (I've been saying that for a week!) This week was actually better than that time I did the raw cabbage/apple/carrot diet for 4 months.. Just saying....
  5. Hi. I am four days post op. What I needed the most at home was Isopure Apple Melon zero carb drink (very thirsty) and sugar free throat lozenges (got a really bad sore throat from being intubated). Also put a heavy table next to my bed so I could grab it and pull myself up to use the bathroom. The one incision where they took the stomach out is very sore. Keep breathing as you roll over and ...

  6. My name is Cathy, and I am a 47 y/o 5'3" wife and mother to 2 boys and 3 stepdaughers. In the summer of 2009 I had "raw dieted" my way into a size 12. By this summer I was back up to 222 and not fitting in my big size 16s. I was put on medicine for high blood pressure, told I was pre-diabetic, and had obstructive sleep apnea. I was losing my breath climbing one flight of stairs. Both knees were bothering me, and I had bursitis in my hips and ankles. Just miserable. I got Lyme disease and ended up with a fairly serious depression. I am tired all the time. My dad died in January 2010. I just sat on the couch and binged my way out of all my clothes, and all my enthusiasm for life. The day before yesterday I had sleeve gastrotomy done after one day of clear fluids only. Today I am still sore (but better). I can't possibly drink all the fluids they want me to drink, but I'm trying. I am not at all hungry, and looking forward to 2011 being a much healthier, happier year for me. My surgeons were Dr. Val Prokurat and Dr. Earl Noyan and the surgery was done at Robert Wood Johnson hospital in Hamilton Square, NJ. They also have offices in Freehold and do surgery in Freehold. Just having a little trouble with terrible thirst. I want to gulp my fluids, but I can't. I'm happy to deal with it as long as I can climb the stairs again and not be out of breath. A good night's sleep without apnea will be a major bonus too!

    January 2011 Sleevers

Hi Liz. I was not on a pre-op diet. I think it depends on your starting weight and BMI. One of my friends had a lot more weight to lost than me (over 150 pounds more) and the same sugeon put her on a pre-surgery diet.

    January 2011 Sleevers

Hi I'm Cathy, and I had my gastric sleeve done on January 3rd. So far, so good. A little sore, very thirsty, not at all hungry, and tired. I just keep sipping and sipping the Isopure (Apple Melon is not bad at all) and walking and walking. A bit hard to get out of bed because my abdomin is sore where they pulled the stomach out the one hole. I've got a very low-grade fever they told me not to worry about unless it gets up to 100.5. They said not to force all the Fluid they recommended the first few days - just keep sipping. When I have to cough, I have to press on the one wound with a pillow. that helps alot. I haven't gotten on the scale yet. Not worried. How can you not lose weight when you haven't eaten in 4 days! I am taking 3 weeks off work (using vacation). This is a very exciting time! I'm going to be 48 on January 8th. I started this journey at 222 pounds
