    My Consultation

I like this website but you may like to visit WLSinfo.org.uk , you have to pay to read the forums but it is a UK based websire, there are loads of threads relating to pre op worries etc. I usualy find that between the two sites you can always find the answer to any questions. The surgeries working by restriction section iseary all about banding. Good luck anyway! Trish
  3. I started off at 16st 3lb and I am 5ft 3in, mind you 1 stone of that was panic eating in the last 3 months waiting to save up for the band . I have lost about 2 stone and was banded on 10th April. I think it is vital to talk to as many people as you can before having the op and read everything going. Bear in mind that people trying to sell the band to you, may leave out the negative things. I don't regret it at all but it can be very difficult at times and it is a real learning curve. It is by no means an easy option, but having said that it works. But every bandster I have ever met has had days when you just wish you could rip the thing out. PM me if you want to know more, mind you I am still learning myself. Good luck Trish

    UK WLS web site

I am not having any problems with the website, this may be a daft question but are you using your normal computer, have you had an upgrade or anything? Don't know about ssupport groups in Kent as I am in Plymouth, but good luck and hope you find one. Trish

    Fizzy Drinks???

This is something I too have been worrying about. I am no way going to give up alcohol either and wine makes me drunk really quickly. I Don't really like Vodka with fruit juices so will try the flat coke route. I only had my first fill last night so am a bit scared of everything at the moment, cos last week I could (and did) eat or drink anything! Trish

    Wine or Cocktail

I had my first glass (red wine) yesterday when I was 6 days post op. :embarassed:

    6 days post-op

I too was banded on the 11th April. I was told just to eat pureed food, rather than liquids. So I am having loads of nice things, (Its amazing what you can manage to blend until fairly smooth. I actually feel pretty good. I was getting quite hungry, but since yesterday when I started going out and about and keeping busy I have not noticed the hunger so much . A couple of times I have forgotton about the band altogether and eaten something unpureed, once an ice cream complete with cone and the other time a banana. The only thing troubling me is my scars which are SO itchy. Trish

    Anyone getting banded in April?

 Hi I was booked for April 3rd at Taunton Nuffield, unfortunately 50 minutes before I was due to go to theatre the surgen rang in sick!! I was GUTTED It's the first time he has been off sick in four years. Anyway I fnally had my band fitted on Weds 11th April and I am feeling pretty good. So if there are any April bandster clubs please can I join??? I live in Plymouth, I am trying hard to think of the band as my friend and not my enemy at the moment, so need lots of encouragment. Trish x
