I am 24, no kids yet, and pre op. At this point I am saving as much $ as possible for the surgeries I may need post-op (i.e. tummy tuck, boob job, hopefully wouldn't need body-lift). I am going to stick with the 1 year post goal weight obtained before I would get surgery, but do I need to wait even longer....as in weight for any surgery until after kids. Would it be okay to have breast implants and go through a pregnancy? What about a tummy tuck? I have my fingers crossed that my youth, lotion, and exercise will help me through the worst. But just fyi, I am a pear shape but I with a C/D cup. What do fellow pear-shaped ladies out there think about their thighs/hips/butt post op?

I've used my Wii a few times now, and my favorite is the skiing game! Although to burn more calories I try and do the advance step. I still working on getting into a workout routine. I use the elliptical at my house sometimes but the Wii is a lot more fun!

pro's / con's to being honest about having surgery
Gipsprettyface replied to newmefeb8's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a horrible liar, so I plan on telling the truth. My biggest fear is that I will be one of those "who gains it back" but I am hoping to use that fear to keep me on track with eating choices and working out At first I was only going to tell family and friends (even my gorgeous skinny-minny ones!). Since then I have decided realistically if I do lose weight that fast and take 2 weeks off, won't it be pretty obvious what I have had done? Better to be upfront about it, if someone has something they disagree with me about then that's their opinion. I'd rather be able to face them and their opinion than have it said behind my back. My surgery won't be scheduled until March, but everyone I have told about it has been positive and just wants the best for me -
Today is the first day of my journey

18 year old sleeve surgery
Gipsprettyface replied to Pinkbabe2011's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
PinkBabe, congrats on your surgery date!!! I wish mine were that close, I am tentatively scheduled for June...so far away, but I'm using the time to work on my eating habits I am 24 so not a teen, but maybe a bit closer in age I'm with you on the eating meals with people will be one of the hardest things about vsg, but it's not like you can't eat, you just have to chose healthier choices and eat slower. -
Irene I am definitely a boob girl too!!! Only drawback I really see to VSG:( lol, I already have looked into surgery and starting a savings for 2 new lovely ladies:) I know someone mentioned scarring... many of the places I looked at insert the implant through the belly button and inflate it once it is in place which eliminates scarring.

Julie, they size you for free there if you are iffy on your size. But personally I absolutely love their Incredible bras, they are pretty much all I wear. Plus the bands are wide, helping with back flab:) I also like the Biofit a lot too

I am 24 years old. I graduated from college about a year ago. For the most part I am happy with my life but am hoping to move to a larger city. I am about 260 at 5'2. I know I an very overweight and will eventually have major health problems if I don't do something about it. I also want to look better and be more comfortable doing everyday things, and I do believe unfortunately that some people do judge you on looks. Despite this, for the most part I feel that I have a fairly high self esteem. In my opinion I have a pretty face, and for the most part carry my weight well. I have always struggled with my weight but I gained a lot of weight in college and since. I have tried on several occasions to lose weight, and succeed up to a point, then eventually I ended up gaining it all back and more:( Over the past year I have been considering weight loss surgery, and in the past 2 months have come to decide on the VS:) I am excited for this new part of my life. I have already been attempting to change my diet and exercise according to the doctors orders (however the journaling big is the hardest part for me). I don't know anyone personally who has had weight loss surgery and am looking forward to connecting with people who have:) ps can anyone tell me how to add the weight tracker things at the bottom of my posts? Thanks:) *The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results*

On the Path to VSG...Hopefully Best Decision
Gipsprettyface replied to Someday160's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Glad you made the decision! I too have just recently joined and have felt the support way beyond what I was expecting I also have tried WW in the past and it worked for awhile, the idea on a whole is great, just didn't quite meet my needs. I am glad to hear that you have done your research and have chosen VSG, pretty much any question you have about VSG can be answered on this site -
Glad to hear people like their Wii's I just got one have yet to use to...I think being weighed everything is a bit intimidating, but probably something that will help with accountability!

Good luck on your surgery Look forward to hearing from you soon!!

help find a vsg surgeon in Indiana!
Gipsprettyface replied to determined1's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I am doing my surgery through Team Bariatrics through Goshen Hospital...it is an awesome place. It is a separate building site setup just for weight loss related issues. They have a gym, nutritionalist, and a whole team of doctors to chose from and help you out ps that is in Goshen, Indiana...it is pretty north about 30 minutes from Notre Dame University or the border of MI. -
Where to get protein foods and samples
Gipsprettyface replied to MacMadame's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
This is great guys! Thanks, I am still about 6 months out but this was definitely things I was thinking about!!! Quick question, do you guys use the protein shakes as meals even after you are on solids, and way post op? I know I use drinks called Isopures for lunch sometimes if I am busy, they aren't hoooorrible, just not great -
Naysayers! Blah....
Gipsprettyface replied to Dusti's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on the surgery date Dusti! I understand the second guessing yourself, my best friend is my only naysayer but it sucks to make this big decision that will improve your life hugely, then have to defend it constantly. In time I should be able to change her mind, hopefully you can change your naysayers too! And hey, once they see your new hot bod, they can't help but see that VSG is a positive thing -
Body after the Sleeve
Gipsprettyface replied to Gipsprettyface's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Lol, thanks guys I will just plan on buying some push up bras for now and just go with the flow! Tiffykins, you are so right about fat rolls versus wrinkles! I will have to keep that in mind -
I am getting the sleeve done in June of this year (2011)! I am really excited for the prospect surgery seems drastic, but maybe that is what I need to keep it off! I am fairly young (24) and am wondering about what your body will look like after. If I keep up with working out and such, will my boobs be completely deformed, and will I have sagging skin everywhere? That's my biggest fear and only mental holdup at this point. fyi I am 260 at 5'2, pear shaped but with some in the tummy, and I think pretty nicely sized chest.

Wanting to Better Myself
Gipsprettyface replied to Gipsprettyface's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
One other thing, would you guys mind posting what you eat in a normal day? It sounds like most eat the least in the morning and the most at night...do most of you snack during the day to help get in your protein totals? -
Wanting to Better Myself
Gipsprettyface replied to Gipsprettyface's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow, guys I am even more excited I found this website/blog/thing:) Julie I feel so many similarities to you:) I am even more excited to get started on my surgery! Most of the people in my life have been very supportive so far, all except for my best friend. She has really had me questioning some things and second guessing myself. Reading these blog post has really kept my spirits up, and in the long run I think the support here combined with the surgery will help me live a healthier, longer, skinnier life -

How much non-surgical shrinkage is possible?
Gipsprettyface replied to ouroborous's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Will that's hilarious!! Although in my case, I'm hoping to keep my boobs I don't have any tattoos to worry about for post op, but I think I might just get one if I reach my goal -
I haven't had the surgery yet, but does it help to buy bottled water? I hate certain tap water and Dasani, but love Evian.
