    Surgeon

I have not used Dr. Keith, but I did use his former colleague Dr. Lana Nelson. She is at Journey Clinic in Moore, but does the procedure at Norman Regional. I am fortunate enough that my insurance covers, so I can't tell you price. I will say that she is great, and you may be happier with her. Good Luck!!
  2. OK, I am 8 days post op and I have had a horrible day!! I am sooo sick of this liquid diet.............don't know how I can handle 6 more days! I was nauseous all night and have had difficulty sleeping since I came home from the hospital. This morning I had the expected "I can't believe I did this to my self" meltdown. I have been a blubbering idiot all day, and cry at the drop of a hat. Please fill me with the wisdom to get through this! My DH is being soooo wonderful, but heavens how much can he take! Thanks for listening to me vent.
  3. Thanks again everyone. The virus has greatly improved and I was able to stay out of the hospital. I am doing a little better today. Still having my moments, but much better than before. This is a wonderful site with really caring people!! Thanks so much!
  4. This may be a stupid question, but how do I update my weight loss ticker? Do I just make a new one each time?
  5. All of the posts have really helped lift my spirits. I now know what is causing the nausea. I apparently have contracted a stomach virus Spoke with my doc earlier, and as long as the diarrhea ends quickly all will be well. So, I'm taking Imodium and drinking Gatorade as ordered and crossing my fingers!! If it's not gone by morning, he's putting me in the hospital Not going to take a chance on the dehydration. Anyway, the other issues have improved with reading your uplifting, encouraging posts. Thanks so much for them.
  6. Thanks to both of you! I know I will love the end result.........I keep telling myself. I'm not trying to lose weight, so I can be this perfect thin person again. I want to be able to play with my kids without feeling exhausted in 5 minutes, I want to sit in a seat on an airplane and buckle without tons of effort, I want to ride a bicycle with my kids, I want to be able to shop in regular stores!!! Anyway, I guess I just needed a reminder that it WILL GET BETTER, thanks again

    One week Post op

I am 7 days post-op today and am having a similar experience. The protein shakes make me want to gag, and when I think of eating jell-o, pudding, or yogurt it just doesn't sound good at all. I literally ate 4 bites of pudding for lunch yesterday, and 2 bites of cream soup for dinner last night. I'm also having a hard time getting my fluids in...........I drank an 11oz protein shake yesterday(took me all day) and about 4 oz. of decaf tea. I'm scared I'm going to get dehydrated, but it literally makes me nauseous!! I know it will improve, but having a hard time dealing now.
  8. There is a brand called "Spanx". They are ultra comfortable, and have several different styles to choose from.
  9. Hello, I am a 33 year old that had gastric lap band surgery in Sept. 2008. Never had any success with it. I couldn't keep my band filled. I would swell every time and be unable to drink water. I had numerous hang ups. Don't know how many times I felt like my chest would cave in! Anyway, I started my weight loss journey at 280 lbs, and weighed 260 lbs. last week when I underwent the conversion from lapband to sleeve. My surgery was Thurs. 12/30/10, and after 4 nights in the hospital, I'm on my 2nd day home. So far, things are definitely better than the recovery from the band. (I spent 10 days NPO after my band, because my stomach had swollen completely shut) I read the posts from this discussion forum for weeks before making the final decision to do a conversion instead of just a removal. I am currently 254.2 lbs, and am looking forward to getting to know everyone and tracking my progress. I am the mother of 3 amazing children, and have been married to my high school sweetheart for 14 years. He has never had to worry about his weight, so he doesn't quite get my struggle. I'm blessed though, cause he loves me as I am. I'm just ready to love myself as well. Thanks for listening.
  10. Thanks girls. I think not only am I recovering better physically, but my mental attitude is way better this time around.
