Heather-I think my tastebuds have totally changed...it is a bummer. But, I am glad to know I am not the only one. Question to any/all-how do you know you are stretching your band? I know this probably sounds stupid. Would you feel sick/nausea?

it is interesting to see all the different ways of thinking....i would love to think that being conservative will help in the long run. but, what i am concerned about is that i go onto the "regular" diet in two weeks. that is 6 weeks of trying to eat as if i have restriction, but not having any. i am worried i will gain all that i have lost and more. i am trying to think positively but i am definitely worried.

very, very jealous of everyone's fills. i just logged onto My Chart and my first fill is scheduled for September 9. i was banded on the 21st of June. sigh. my doctor is a tad conservative.

hugs to all those experiencing their first outings since banding...i totally identify with you. i am not looking forward to it, and am actually being quite a chicken and avoiding those situations.

    First Fill

thank you all for your honest posts...i knew this process/journey wasn't going to be easy and somehow it makes me feel so much better knowing that i am not alone in having difficulties. i haven't hit this stage yet, but i am now banded 12 days and it will be almost 8 weeks by the time i get a fill. i feel it coming...the hunger and more frustration. it is nice to know others are struggling as well. thanks again, and good luck today!

faith, i am blown away as well. everytime i read someone else's post-op plan, i run to look at my paperwork again! i think i am going to ask my surgeon at post-op about all the differences and the Allergan site info....he is going to love me:eek:

Congratulations to the newly banded Junesters! I am now a week out, and my diet paperwork said I could have a couple of Tablespoons of Cream of Wheat or mashed potato thinned with broth or milk during week two. I had a little potato at lunch and dinner (i had just two protein shakes yesterday)...it was heaven to eat something that wasn't sweet!!! I don't get to go to mushies till after my two-week post-op. Seem like forever. Scale isn't moving. I know it won't....but it is still discouraging to eat/drink this little and have it stay the same. KWIM? I am sure you all do!!!

I am curious about what everyones doctor said about driving....when I left the hospital the nurse said "several weeks" which blew me away. I emailed my drs. office but haven't heard back. Faith said her dr. said until she stops taking the painkillers (which makes sense to me). What did everyone else's dr. say?

I have a fill question....I was banded Thursday (21st) and have a post-op July 6th, and a post-op nutritional class the 27th. No mention of a fill. So, I am guessing that means it is at least August before I get one. Is that possible/normal/usual? Seems like a long way away compared to some. I wonder if I will make it!?!? :cry

i was banded on thursday...still in pain. not loving the lortab taste either, but need it so there you go. i was uncomfortable in the recliner and ended up in bed with tons of pillows to move around and help support what needed it. i guess everyone is different. i still have a bunch of gas pain...someone said it went away in about a week? so glad to be banded...trying to eat but just not that interested. congratulations to everyone who got banded last week!

Pippz-I am concerned about dehydration, too. And to anyone who had to do clear liquids for more than a day, I applaud you. I am dying here! Terrible headache and so tired. I thought the last two weeks of low-carb, low-fat would make this a breeze. Wow, was I wrong. :faint:

Wow, I have just (attempted) to catch up since my last post...you have all been very chatty! I am going in the day after tomorrow...I am so nervous. That is normal, right? I have been eating low-fat, low-carb for two weeks and start Clear liquids tomorrow. Good Luck to everyone being banded tomorrow!!! :scalesno:
