    4wk out and frustrated

Have you guys taken your measurements? I'm pre-sleeve but know with everyother diet (the milion I've tried), my measurements would show significant change even though my scale didn't. I'm going to chart my measurements also.

    Weight loss

I have not been sleeved. But, I know from experience with other diets, its really important to also track your measurements. I would not have lost a pound but lost plenty of inches.

    6 Month Update

Thank you for posting and giving such detail about your journey. It gives me more confidence about my decision and a reasonable expectation.
  4. @DJackson, I also teared up. I still don't get the people who poo poo weight loss surgery. I read these forums and see miracles happening every day.

    Average Weight???

Pictures of People at different heights and weights. I like looking at this site. I too can only guess at what my goal should be. At 53, my goal is probably different than a 23 y/o of the same height.

Another sleep study tomorrow night!! Ugh.

BTW, my son had to use a full mask (covered nose and mouth) because he could not sleep without his mouth open. Good news, he lost over 125 lbs on his own and doesn't need it anymore.

Another sleep study tomorrow night!! Ugh.

I have a cpap and swore I'd never use it UNTIL, they had me try it at the clinic and I woke up amazed thinking "Ahhhh so this is what it is like to have sleep!". There are much better masks available then when I first started using a c-pap. Some were masks that almost covered your whole face. I use a mask now that is a couple of straps and "pillows" that rest in my nostrils. Considering your morbidity rate goes up something like over 30% when apnea, there is no question for me to use it. Hopefully one day after surgery I won't have to. I encourage you to try it and embrace what good things it will do for you. You might have to try a couple of masks to get the right fit, but ask them for the "For Her" mask.
  8. The first facility I interviewed required a 4 to 6 month waiting period before surgery even though my insurance requires one (Anthem BS CA). I'm interviewing another this Wednesday who only requires what the insurance requires. Pros/Cons on the waiting period? I know what to do, I need a tool to help me do it.
  9. What are the questions I should ask when I go for my first appointment? I've written down a couple from the posts here. For example, I had not clue to ask how big a sleeve the doctor would leave.
  10. NtvTxn, How do you get your protein in on 550 & 750 per day. Any recommendations? And congrats on your progress.
  11. Thank you for including "Days Since Sleeve" and your weight loss. It is inspiring! I'm in the process of chosing a Dr and getting approval. I'm excited and hopeful!

    C-Pap and Bi-Pap Users

I am so looking forward to getting rid of the c-pap. I take it when I travel or spend the night somewhere.
