Thank you. I had my surgery on Thursday and they were able to put a new band in! I am on my way to recovering from the surgery, but I am happy to say it is not as bad as last time. I am ready for my stomach muscles a d ribs to quit hurting, wow!!! Everyone keep up the good work and remember our band is our tool to success Traci -
5 years ago today I had my lapband procedure and was well over 325lbs( after losing from 365 from first part of the year) I at my lowest was 180, but have had some complications over the past year and currently are at 202. Today I go in for a band revision/new band hopefully, or possible removal! I am hoping for the first! At first I wanted it out and over with , but after I got my strength and appetite back I quickly realized WHY I have my band Slips are no fun, not 2!!! So, I am hoping next time I most I will be a new 2012 bandster!!!! Traci

5 Year Anniversary/band Revision
hoosierpoms posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
WEll, I am at the 5 year mark on May 31, and I just recently had a band slip and am scheduled for a band revision or removal on the exact same day at the exact same time. At this time, my hopes are for a revision as my doctor is planning on putting a new band in place which he feels is going to do a better job and have less risk of slippage than the one I currently have. I have been back and forth with my decision and think that if its possible that is what I am voting for. This is a way of life for me now, has been for over 5 years, and I just cannot think of living any other way. I am happy to say that I started my journey at 368lbs, and am down 173lbs. On surgery date I was 321, so from 5 years ago, I am down 126lbs and are within 30lbs of my goal weight of 165. I am hoping that when I report in next year at this time, I will have lost that 30 and be in maintence:) Just wanted to share, and say hello to all the 2007 May Bandsters. Traci -
That was my day to Dolores!! Way to go. I am so thankful for the band, even though this past year and a half has been quite a challenge with it...... I started at 368, and am down 168lbs....200. I have had some health issues and a band slip which caused me to put some back on, highest I got back up to was 225! Scary. My lowest was 180, and I am planning on trying to get back to that here over the next several months. I have learned a lot, and I hope to stay healthy while getting to this goal weight....Good luck!!!! Traci

Gina, How are things going with your evaluations at Dr. Ray? How far away are you from surgery? Are you still excited about the change in your life it will bring?? I know that when I was waiting for approval, I was scared, but so hyped......I had not shared with anyone, except the immediate household...so it was hard for me to keep quiet..LOL Have you been able to go by Bike Smiths to take a look at the bikes?? Were they helpful..? I am hoping you are doing well, and if you need to chat, please shoot me a email anytime...would love to help in anyway I can. Traci

Hello everyone.....I, just like most had my struggles with my band, but it has been a tool for me that I am still learning to use to my advantage. I had done very well at the start in 2007/2008....than in 2009 we had a family issue and my mom was hospitilized for over 3.5 months. Being back in my hometown with all the comfort food of home got the best of me. A good friend got me back on board last summer and I went back to my doctor....got real, got weighed, and got a adjustment. I have since started biking and hiking more, and am getting close to my doctor and mine goal..... My biggest challenge has always been gaining during the winter, so we hiked in snow, and rode when we could both inside and out. Mountain biking has really got me energized...loving the challenge, and excited for the scenery. Everyone on this site has always been great and supportive of one another, and it is nice to know I can still check in and say hello... Keep up the good work everyone...band or no band....we can do this.... Traci

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!
hoosierpoms replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am down over 100 lbs and am 22 lbs away from my doctors goal for me....but I know that I will want to still lose more after that is reached.... It was hard....the first was easier.....and then stress happened, old ways came back and showed it's ugly head....but I can say I got back on board last summer and am very close now!!! It is reachable....but it takes patience, and determination. Everyone...keep up the good work. -
I agree...even though the $200 bike sounds good...you can get a great bike for just a little bit more at the LBS... Good luck.....
