unjury is a good and taste smooth. I mix the strawberry sorbet with crystal lite lemondade, and today I used the unflavored one with OJ/lite I dont lieke the GNC soy at all...it is gritty!!!!!!

Wow....ok, last night I wanted to raid the fridge, but didn't....had my protien shake for breakfast on my way into work today.....managaing my hunger in the am. I am not moody either.....just a little tired..realized I didnt have as many calories as I should of yesterday...so that is my goal today....and to ride when I get home. I am so readyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

miranda, my protien shakes are 1-2 on pre op, but by the 3 an 4th week after surgery they want me to get the most of it from real food...NO PROBLEM..at least I hope Good luck

leslie, my surgery date is the same as yours and I am on day 2 of the pre-op..I am actually doing OK? I left the house tonight becuase I wanted to attack anything in the fridge, but went to get a hair cut an worked through it. I know I have been so excited and now I am ready for it to get here, an start my new phase of my life. I truly beleive we will forever be changed. Diet means DIE, and I refuse to die, I am going to LIVE Good luck..email me anytime

hi, I am getting banded the 30th of this month!!!! I bought a bike no speed comfort style, old kind of breaks this weekend at walmart. I want to get a better bike that is more versatile as I loose weight.....let me know how you like yours.....

that is the reason only selected few know about my surgery. It is a personal choice, and we cant live through them. My mom was always heavy, until she got into her 60's and now she is the EXPERT on weight loss, and has no problem telling you about how unhealthy and awful you look My husband and direct family made the choice to keep it private....and I am happy I did.... I do wish I could of called her and told her I was approved.......but....when she sees for herself how good I am doing maybe she will just be happy!!!! WE can ONLY HOPE:phanvan

Yes, I think the staff is great too. I know all I am waiting on is my insurance. They have had it almost a month now, and they have said that all the paperwork is complete and just waiting the final approval. I am tired of waiting....Was really hoping to plan this around the holiday for my time off, etc...but oh well.... Good luck to you during your journey. Let me know how you do on the liquid diet.....you will be shedding some pounds I betcha!!!! Traci:clap2:

I am from Evansville, moved in 1998 to Martin County. I graduated from Reitz....and as a kid never dreamed I would be going down this avenue... I am waiting for insurance approval to get my surgery done. I had to have a consultation with the surgeon, pshy exam, and evaluation from the nutrionist. Insurance is not who is requiring the liquid diet pre op, it is the doctor.The want your liver shrinked as much as possible prior to srgery as it makes working laproscoply easier. That is great...I liked him Dr. McEwen too...his whole staff was friendly and helpful. Who is your insurance through? We have Lumeons, BC/BS and we had already been told we were approved too if we met certain requirements..which I meet....so.....my insurance has record that they recieved it on Monday...now begins the waiting.... please email me along your journey..it would be great to talk with someone going through it and also same doctor.... Ok, this is a grose thing to ask, but......since I had my doctors visit and I was told to reduce my calories by 30-40%, I have given up soft drinks, and fried foods, etc. I have been adding new things or trying new things all week and drinking lots of Water. I have noticed that my stools first turned green.....and than the last 3 days are like water!!!!! IS this my bodys way of getting rid of all the garbage in it???? I wonder when I do the pre-op liquid diet, is this what it will be as well?? I didnt know if I should be taking something for the loose stools or to just let nature take its course.. I just thought I would put the question out here. Thanks Traci:help:

When we met with our surgeon, he told us up front that if my BMI was over 50 he would not do the surgery. He noted complications were higher, and the need for them to be able to work aroundwithout going open. I am not sure what the statistics are, but DONT GIVE UP.....YOU ARE GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION......CHECK AROUND AND FIND OUT THE PRO'S AND CONS OF ALL OF THE SURGERYS......AND HOPE YOU GET YOUR INSURANCE TO APPROVE YOU.... SORRY YOU ARE HAVING ALL THE PROBLEMS WITH IT.... TRACI

Hello to everyone in Indiana. I went to Carmel for my Psych visit but my surgeon was actually in Fishers, about 5 miles up the road. I found out today that my insurance paperwork was submitted and now the waiting begins.....:cool: I called my insurance company as well and they said that the lap band is a covered surgery as long as I met the requirements...so man I am hoping everything was properly written....I am so ready This week has been a trial and error for me...tried the protien shakes and didnt DIE>>>> I actually found one at the GNC store. Unflavored, powder...but man it takes alot to keep the powder mixed up.....and it is defiantly no good warm....YUCK I dont like vanilla and chocolate, so I am not sure what other kinds to get, but am looking. :confused: I also have tried yougurt, and have been off all carbonated drinks since Monday....2 days of headaches, but better now. Well, I am rambling, but I am so excited and ready to do this. Looking forward to talking to some more of you from Indiana... :nervous
