NEWS ALERT!!!! HP HAS BROKE IN HER NEW PEDALS AND SHOES BY FALLIN ON HER ASS!!!!!!! Yes as graceful as I knew it was going to be, I knew I was going down, could not stop, and on my butt I went.....I am glad I was laughing....But I was so excited because I have bruises and BLOOD to show for it!!!! WOHOOOOO!!!! I know sick...but it was good...now I know what it feels like and know not to do that again!!! Made a huge mistake though! Did not grab my helmet since it was just going to be a short ride.....Never again will I leave the house without it. If I would of not caught myself...I would of smacked my head on the ground.....But I have good landing gear So, we got in 11.2 miles tonight......learned some tricks on the bike. Gearing is different from my Trek, but I love it. The handlebars are defiantly better than my other bike.....and I believe I will get allot of workouts done on this bike. Still have my eyes on an expensive Road bike for next year.....my piggy bank needs to start getting filled daily. Anyway. I will post my new picture soon.....I wore a huge t-shirt.....wish I would not of done that....but oh well......I am still prett y self concious in my bike pants....LOL ZZ....SOOOO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR DAY.....AT LEAST YOUR BIKE IS GETTING FIXED...AND IT IS NOT COSTING YOU AN ARM AND A LEG.......

You know, I may get to my goal, but I will always be the "fat Bottom Girl" And you know what...that is fine with me..... I can't believe we have snow in March.....Melt!!!!! Supposed to be nice all week here.....the pedals are way too awesome... Night!

J!!!!!! Love your new picture...and love your hair!!!!!

hey you know what...this thing has been in layway since October...and it is not the nice expensive one I wanted, but you know what...it will do, and I will eventually get me one. I started out with a single speed bike from Wal-Mart last May....$79 bucks.....I loved riding, hated the hills....plus it was rather chunky!!! I than bought a bike from Target.....too small for me, it is now my 14 year old daughters. Than I got a Hybrid Trek....and I thought I was breaking the bank when I got that....but I had puppy money...so it was ok. This was my gift for me......I want to still get a road bike (with drop handelbars) sometime...but this will be a good investment for me, and my poor old husband is using a old Raliegh bike from the 80's....So... We all start somewhere.....and the bottom line, no matter what kind, how much it cost, or what it looks like.....WE ARE OUT THERE...RIDING....USING OUR ENERGY IN A GOOD WAY AND BEING HEALTHY!!!! BEST OF LUCK ON YOUR JOURNEY!!!

well, we took our bikes over to the lake this evening, becuase it was 46 when we got back from the grocery. Realized that the LBS guy had put my cleat on backwards on one of the m, (or upside down) and that was the reason I could not clip in. I felt like a dork. But, we worked on it for a little bit, and with the brief time we was out....I love them....I defiantly am glad I made the choice to get them. SO, we are going to be trying to get out more this week, as it is supposed to warm up. Thanks Turller for the advice.......

Catching up.....Congrats J on getting to your 1 year mark.....Look at how far you have come in 1 year.....you are truly amazing and should be so proud of YOU!!!!! You have allot to look forward to this next year, and getting to your goal will be so much easier with your attitude and determination.....:smile2: I have my space too...I will add all who would like to be added. Ok, So...I have my new bike...it is a Giant road bike with flat handelbars. I know I am a woooseeee!!! But......for me, and for now, that was the most comfortable position at this time. ANYWAY.. I ended up trading out the cage pedals and got Shimano SPD M520...yea...OK???? attached is the picture of them. I also, was fitted for Diadora shoes. So, I may not be curled over on the "real" road bike, I will be upgrading allot from my comfort bike of last season to this one. He told me that watching me ride both (the LBS guy) that I looked more comfortable on this and he felt like I could easily achieve my goals this riding season. So...That is what I have done. Now...we have 8 inches of snow, it is 40 today which is good...but the roads are not in the best shape for riding I am afraid. Plus....I dont own a trainer, so I will be learning how to ride with clipeless on th road.... Anyone with suggestions or advice....I would GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.... TAKE CARE EVERYONE......

I totally agree that if you want a no frills doc, that will be honest, caring and supportive....this is your man. he and his staff are wonderful....I look forward to seeing him each month. The surgery center they are associated with is also excellent....You will not be sorry by choosing him..... best of Luck Traci from Martin County -
Well, I am about 9 months out from surgery now, and I am very pleased with how the band has worked with me so far. I did real well before and up till December, and then recently seems to be getting into old habits that are really bad to break. I am at 90lbs since March of last year, and 70 since surgery. I really want to make it to 100 by my annisversery date of getting the band, but I am really going to get my butt in gear to get that done. I bought my new bike last night and splurged and got clipless pedals and shoes. Wow.....some may say the bike I chose is not the one I should of, but for me and for my ability at this time, I feel like it is a good choice. I ended up getting a Giant FX2 Same componets as the road bike, but has a flat handelbar and bar ends. So......no i wont be riding all humped over just yet....but...it is a big step up from where I was last year. I am nervous about trying out the clippless pedals...I just know i will wipe out.....but hey.....have to try. So....do I like having the band...you bet I do. I need to re focus and get motivated to get moving again, and will get to that goal.

Hello everyone!!! It has been a real long time since I have been on here and actually was able to read and look at all the new pictures. We have had some odd weather in dear ole' Indiana, and yesterday we were without power for over 11 hours due to high winds and such. So....I had homework that was due, library's were closed, and so we head off to a nearby town, and found a hotspot for the internet, that was only running at 11, and uploaded my work......took a bit, but I got it done...wooohoooo J.....awesome, awesome, awesome about the run..........You totally amaze me that you completed that!! I am very proud of you........ BG.......YOU LUSH!!!!!!!! Glad you are still losing and looking so great...keep up the good work...you will get that last 33 lbs off soon.... I had noticed that B, and JC , and SUzzie, and TX has all joined in lately as well. I sure do miss talking to everyone. I am so ready for spring. My weight keeps going back and forth, my diet is back and forth....some days I eat crap, some days I feel like I am backsliding.... But.......holding my breath, getting ready to breathe and get my butt in gear. I defiantly am going to feel a difference when I get on the bike this year and am weighing so much less than I did when the season ended last fall. Well, take care

-
hello to all, I went to the doctor yesterday and did not get a fill. This was the first visit I have had with him that i didnt. I have lost each month, and I am at a good restriction, and I need to take responsibility for what I am eating and drinking and try and get over using this as a crutch. I have to make some clear choices if I want to continue to loose, and not eat and drink around the band. So, kinda like starting over but not.....I am happy that my weight is still at 247 which is good since I have creaped back up in January. I went to a store at the mall, and bought 2 sleevless sweaters in a size 16!!!!!!!!! And yes I am wearing today. I know that if I loose what I need to the next 5 months, I will be at a really decent weight, and I am very excited to say, that I am making every effort to kick my ass in gear and get that going. I just wanted to share, and tell everyone hello.......
-
Staci......congrats on your excellent year. j is correct in saying you are truly an inspiration to all of us!!!
-
JC....hey there !!! Thanks!!! I miss talking to you, and it always nice coming on here and seeing ur post. Hello to all... I am really struggling on this school thing. I have internet classes, which would be ok, but I am not getting my math test back, so I am kinda upset about that. Not allot of feedback, and I am not getting it....and this is supposed to be the BASIC math.....LOL I think I am in trouble... Well, better get going...Nite all

haha!!!!! Cute Miss TX!!!!!!! Nope no burnt chicks today!!!!! And way to go Giants!!!!!
-
you guys look freakin awesome!!!! Wow!!!! I hope I get my butt in a target swimsuit this summer too!!!!! C...I am moving to a road bike with mountain bike handelbars and I think they are called side bars. I tried the road bike with the handelbars, and I still am not ready for them. My new bike has everything the road bike has, minus the handelbars. So....we will see. I bought 3 new bikes in 2007...Ha... Started with a Wal-mart bike single speed. Moved to a target bike(hybrid schwinn) and moved from there to a Trek hybrid. So.....my husband can understand, but he is still riding with a 80's road bike....hahaha B...hope you get better... My husband smoked ribs today......they were great.....and it sucks that I could only eat a few.....but my scale will thank me...

Hi carol I am HP, short for Hoosierpoms I cant say that I live near flat land becuase it is mainly hilly around here..which is good and bad I started this process last year about this time. I went to the doctor in Feb(family doctor) and was 336, went for my first consult in April, and surgery was May 31. It has been an interesting time, and my husband and I started cyclying together in Late May. I have a hybrid bike and am upgrading here next month. I love being outdoors....it is great. Well, if you ever need anything, please feel free to ask, and you are more than welcome to email me as well.
