    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

OMG...I never realized it, but I did and do the same thing pulling a hill????? WOW.....must work on that tonight when I go out..... Hmmm...just really didnt realize that.......I am always in the drops pulling a hill...... I have been included in a "faster group ride" this weekend.....she called 2 rides and the first one will pick up the second group of riders and than head back.....I asked her where she thought I should be, and she told me with the first group....so, I am pleased....I have allot to prove to her and to me......and i am doing it each time I hit the pavement...even last nights ride, short as it was, I did the hills without going to the granny gears and it felt awesome!!!! Have a Happy anniversery day!!!!!!:tongue_smilie:

D...I am almost at 500 !!!!! To me that is just awesome......I am setting some major goals for myself over the next 10 weeks...maybe 11 since I will be gone a week for work... But...I believe that challenges make us strive for something better...something that we never thought we could achieve.... I went to ride tonight because you told me you were going out for a ride....I knew I had a choice...either sit here because my husband did not want to ride, or go.....so, my daughter and I loaded the bikes up and off we went. Bad thing was is it was already 7 and we only had so long to ride...so going where we could get in the mileage was out of the question considering we would have to drive 30 miles one way to get there. So we went 10 miles away and got in what we could and challenged ourselves on some killer hills.....You know, I am reallyyyyy getting tired of the hills....but doing them in a harder gear when you use to walk the same hill, it is truly a wonderful feeling...........and the burn........oh ya!!!! Ok, got to get to bed....LOL

suzzie....Good for you with the food choices.....fresh food is soooooo expensive. It is so hard for me to buy enough good food for 5 people without breaking the bank. And our problem is my son will eat all of it in 2 days.....instead of making it last...and usually I end up with none of it.....UGHHH!!!! Keep your head up~

Sorry BG that the rain messed up the ride. I had a friend who was doing RAIN today and she had bike issues. She held on until 92 miles and had to stop. Her bike was not down shiffting at all for her and she was dealing with the heat on top of it. She is in her mid 50's, and I am very very proud of her! she is a wonderful person and a great inspiration to the ones who know her. She writes articles for the paper about the adventures of biking granny. They are pretty neat. Anyway..no ride for us tonight either/ The heat, and then the rain. So....hoping to get one in Sunday early Hope all had a good weekend

ok......thanks BTW for the compliments....I have had many bumps in the road and still have so much more too loose...but I am so much better than where I was a year ago.... Honestly, the big seats are fie for small short rides....but I know you will think I am crazy, but the smaller the seat, the easier it will be on your butt!!! I thought the same as you when I started out last year, but the bigger seats actually make your sit bones in a unnatural position, and it really does not help with comfort....this is my opinion only! Keep riding though!!! The more you do, the easier it becomes. Wow...what part of Michigan? One of the girls on the other thread is near detroit. I camped in South Haven. Nice area.

Hi BIG B.....Sorry I am just posting back to you...I just turned the computer on....It is great that you got you a Trek....looooveeee my Trek!!! My daughter now has a Trek 7.2 FX....I had a Trek 7200 last year at this time and loved it. To let you know, I started at 335lbs and was barely getting in 4-5 miles a night..and I thought I was going to DIE!!! Of course I didnt.But....everytime you get on the bike it gets easier...some days will be easier than others, but you are still accomplishing something each time you get on. If you go and read some of the post back from the start, you will see how D and myself, and BG and J all started just like you. You keep your head up, keep pedaling and most of all....HAVE FUN!!!!! PLEASE POST ANYTIME..WE LOVEEEE NEW PEOPLE

point taken....and not offended. Slang language is used allot, and I tend to not think when I write something, so I am sorry it offended you. Yes, I do know you well enough to know you are a good person, as I am as well. If you remember correctly, I also have a brother who chooses to love another man, and I respect that and respect him for his choice. I didnt mean to be "rude" though, so once again, please accept my appology

hi there yes there is they make wired computers or wireless computers for the bikes. There is a sensor that goes on the tire and than the computer mounts on your handelbars. We bought a CatEye Strada wireless and love it. We made the mistake of buying one at walmart that is wireless for our daughter and it does not wrk correctly Depends on how much you want to spend, etc....but we paid around $45 for our wireless ones. Go to nashbar.com or performancebike.com they usually have good deals or your LBS and they can put it on for you(if they are nice.. best of luck, and happy riding!!!

Nice of side roads with allot of rolling hills and nice area in general...not much traffic(I like) We just need to figure out what to do about my left foot and the cleats on that side. I am having major issues with it going numb, but than hurting extremly bad when I stop. It is like I am putting so much preas:angry_smile::cursing:ure on one part of my foot and it is affecting the toes.....anyone else have this issue>>>> I have changed shoes.....and it still didnt help?????
