2bhealthe... You live in Bowling Green?? WOW...I am about 2.5 hours from you!!! I live about 30 miles North of Jasper, In. I am a member of the Jasper cycling club and they have a couple who may actually be riding in your ride coming up. I am leaving for Florida on work that day, or I would be coming as well. Sounds awesome.....DO you have any other rides during the year scehduled??? Hey..I have to set a goal, or I will come home after work and sit on my butt...LOL BG...How awful!!!!.....
-
well, I completed and surpassed my goal for the week I am training for my first century ride, I was supposed to get in 103 miles...but I got in 118.10!! I am real excited..could defiantly use some cooler weather
-
wow the board has been quiet today..... I got in 23.5 tonight which pushed me over my weekly goal of 103 miles I had to get in for my training.....I went over by 15.10..woohoo!!! GO ME!!!!! Actually, we skipped out on the afternoon ride with our friends due to the heat, and went out instead with our daughter this evening. She was poundin the pavement and seeming to have a pretty good time.... I had some issues at first with my seat and knee pain...so we moved the seat back, and I am hoping that will take care of the ouch of a pain.....The new multi release cleats are ok........i have allot more movement with them, and I can get out easier...which is good...but I do still see going with a new style for next season...we will see...been checking them out....not sure....just yet... Hope all that got out today stayed cool.... I have to get in at least 112 miles for next week........I am going for at least 120......anyone up for some fun???????????
-
sorry have not been posting my week on here But, I got in (not including what I am doing today) 94.6 miles on the bike. I am hoping for at least a 20-30 miles ride this evening. I have decided to train for a century ride....my goal for this next week is 112 miles. everyone is doing great...keep up the excellent work

2bhealthe....YOU LOVE HILLS???? I know what Kentucky has, and You are right there are tons of hills. I am in Indiana, and we have our share as well......in fact.....as long as they are a good rolling hill and than a climb I am all good...but to just out right climb...whew!!!! Congrats on your banding.....I was itching so bad to get back out on my old single speed bike after my surgery it wasnt even funny. Now I am on a road bike...LOL. How 1 year can change you. D...You are on !!!! My goal is to at least get the training schedule in at least and that is 112 miles. So, weather permitting, schedule permitting, that is my goal. Your speed last night was amazing....what is the roads like when you get that kind of average?? triple L.....I know...I find it amazing to not be afraid to go out and "try" to do something I was afraid of doing before or something I couldnt do..... Keep it up g

oh an D...you are only 202 miles ahead!!!! I need 15 miles in this week to get my training schedule completed. I have hit it all week and currently have a pretty good thing going. Next week I have to increase by 9 miles....My friends are wanting to do a 77.6 mile ride next saturday....The ONLY way I will go is if it cooler and we go early.....Getting off the road mid day is NOT fun So D.....112 miles is the goal for me next week....JUST SAYN!!!!!

long 2 be.....WOW!!! Isnt that a great feeling to accomplish something that seemed so far away just a short time ago??? That is how I get every time I get out there. WE hit it pretty good today, but I had to stop before we got back due to the heat....it was hitting me hard, and the last 8miles were nothing but hills and more hills...I was DONE. Keep up the good work LONG 2B triple L...welcome.......you keep getting out there...keep having fun...that is what it is all about..... And good job on your surgery!!!!
-
well, we got in 43.6 miles ( or 44.6) cant remember....lol had to bail out of the last 4 miles due to the heat....but it was the most exhilarating feeling... We had 9 bikers with us when we met up with the group that was riding from town...we all headed back out and had a nice casual ride, yet fast paced for some...( I was one of those people at one time) anyway....it was a good day, good friends, and great roads. Hope everyone else had a good day!!!
-
HELLO I am dissapointed as well, but I have been pretty easy going about it when they ride. My 14 year old is going more than the 17 year old, so she is use to what my riding style is becoming. I wont worry too much, because saturday and sunday are going to kick my butt...is going to be super hot, and humid....but......it is all worth it I also got my new cleats today for my shoes..so hopefully that will be good. Have fun tonight!!!
-
D!!!!! You are the sweetest person I could of ever met!!!! Thank you~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, we got in a little over 10 miles this morning after my test. The 2 girls wemt, and we got about 5 miles in the ride and she noticed her handelbars were crooked....BAD So, we deverted over to the bike shop and waited for him to open so he could fix them. Got them fixed, and they were done...they wanted to stop riding...I was not happy.....we did finish and that was a ok warm up ride for tommorow..... kind of dissapointed to tell you the truth n

But, allot of us are just starting out biking and working out. Buying the correct gear can get pretty expensive. So, I was putting things away today, and noticed I had 2 pairs of bike shorts that I bought last season and a bike shirt from last season. They are in great shape. 1 pair of padded bike shorts are from Junonia and are a size 4x. I wore these when I was still in 300's and high 280's.... I also have a 4x jersey The other shorts are from Aerotech and are gel pads. they are a 3 x. If you are interested in purchasing these and seeing pictures of them, PM me, or email me.

We have been there. I am a year out, and I still have cravings and weakness....which is why my weight has stalled. I got comfortable, and got lazy with my diet.... good luck.....and try the bullets...sometimes I will drink a little and than add some water so it is not so thick...makes it easier to. The grape is my favorite -
Major Bandster HELL!!!

To be honest...I thought the first month was the hardest of all. You are right...you do crave food......I can suggest what worked for me was to use protien. I got the protien bullets....(they taste like kool-aid) and they were my dearest friend. Hang in there...it will get easier....when the weight starts coming off and you look at this, you will be wow! Another suggestion that helped....I got OUT OF THE HOUSE when I started craving something...that is how I started getting on my bike more...or go for a short walk....and take Water with you..... Stay strong...it is worth it:rolleyes2: -
No ride for me tonight.....we got about 5 hours of sleep last nite and work was busy today. We are planning a 25 mile ride tomorrow evening...Saturday and Sunday plan to rack up the miles...I am going to get close to getting in 100 miles !!! Wohohooooo That will defiantly help with my training. Welcome all the newbies!!!! it is so great to see the thread so active again. We are all in it for the same reason and enjoy helping...so if you think a a question is dumb, ask anyway....I am sure we have asked it to,

hey, I am 228 and have a big BUTT that gets bigger in spandex....and also always getting into fights with my jersey.....I know people look, but I dont care anymore at all. I love the feel of being on that bike.... You guys hang in there..and yes, yes, yes.....the hotter it is, the harder it is to ride. I always TRY to ride in the evening or in the am....but sometimes mid afternoon rides are the only time...I always cut it down when I do that.... Drink and drink.....
