NEED ADVICE -- I am almost 6 months out. I have been fluctuating between 186-188 for the last 8 weeks. I am drinking water and getting protein. What am I doing wrong???

My surgeon was Dr David Kim and surgery was performed Feb 14, 2011 at Trophy Club Medical Center. Can not recommend Dr Kim, his staff or the hospital enough!! 5 star treatment/accomodations! I was in the hospital 2 nights -
Tomorrow is will be my 3 month anniversary since surgery. I am down 53 pounds!! 65 pounds to go! I CAN DO IT!!

Hello Penpen! I used Dr David Kim in Colleyville. Absolutely would recommend him to anyone. He and his entire stafff are very friendly and the whole process was so easy -- from the insurance approval to the post-op appointments. Great Dr! -
YOU ARE SO RIGHT!! I should be thankful that I am finally on my journey and I don't have to lose all the weight in a month! I need to change my way of thinking -- the scale is going down and not up - thats a good thing!!! Its so funny because my husband hid the scale from me!! He says I am being a little obsessive - which I agree!! I am going to weight only 1x per week. Thanks for encouragement!!

I feel like I am doing something wrong!! I was sleeved on Feb 14 and the scale has slowed down to a very slow crawl!! I even gained 1/2 pound at one point. I know I should be happy with the 25 pounds I have lost (includes pre-op diet) but I just feel like I should be losing more than I am. Is this normal??? Will it get better once I start the "mushy' food stage?

Good Morning Kelly'sChipper!! I am doing well - 9 days out from surgery. I have lost 24.4 pounds. I am a little lethargic but Dr says thats normal after surgery. Started back to work today - will have to see how it goes without my daily naps!

My "bariatric University" class is scheduled on 2-8-11. Will you be there or have you done it already?

Dr Kim is my surgeon too!! I was told during one of my insurance required classes that the 2 week pre-op liquid diet is to help shrink the fatty liver to make it easier to access the stomach. I will do my best to stay on the liquid diet but 2 weeks is a long time without food and without the sleeve to help me! My surgery date is Feb 14. Good luck to you!
