so I caved I bought the bug on mystore for 229.00 w/3 month membership and 2 phone sessions. I bought armband for 67.00 now I have to sit and wait for it to come home but I'm curious about the membership I haven't really heard much talk about it can you do anything with the bug if you don't buy the annual membership package??

I just ordered bodybugg its onsale online at bodybugg armband device fopr 235.00 including shipping considering that I wanted one 6 months ago but it was 399.00 I jumped on it this offers only good till 10 am tomorrow good luck I'll keep you posted on how it works. I know someone comented on a heart rate monitor I have one by Idoc its a ring really cool I only wear it while i'm working out and it works great.

The product is manufactured througha company called sensawear but they only sell bodybugg the units. So sensawear creates software and upgrades etc. The watch is only available if you have the upgraded unbit wich came out after november of last year or so I was told my a tech rep from the company. I was also told my a rep at bodymedia that late 07 early 08 they were going to be selling a smaller unit that will be available in different colors. When I asked a rep at bodybugg he said he had no clue. Go figure either way I guess what matters is that it works. ah they also have 2 different kinds of software if you get the version from bodymedia you can use it with your dr to monitor everything from you pulse to your sleep etc or you can get version from bodybugg that monitos cals in and out. I still havent purchased one Im trying to get mine from bodymedia and use it in conjunction with my nutritionist.

I read this book and was unimpressed. but there is a great series for people with bypass that has loads of information that could be usefull to banders. portion wise and lifestyle changes. its from bariatric associates I think I'll have to ask my nutritionist I borrowed it from her.

ok so I got my first rash of this kind sadly its not that Ive been working out and the funny thing is I think the deoderant may have caused it. I was using the deoderant because I was shaving bikini area and then out of no where I had this burning sensation and then I knew it was like a yeast infection but on the skin. Honestly I was horrified as someone else stated I was like damn Im fat as if I was unaware of this before this moment but it stood out because its like finally Im excersising and finally Im starting to loose some weight and here comes this irritating little patch thats keeping me from doing much because it hurts so much. Im going to see my dr tomorrow and see if I can get rid of it and prevent it from comming back.

Has anyone tried the hairmax??

Hi Jenny, Thats a great question to be honest I've heard of people speaking about thier ports but I've nver really heard anyone mention if they could feel the presense of thier band. I've often wondered this myself since I am a very sensative person if I would be aware of my band beyond feeling full. Since I am not yet banded I have no answer but hopefully someone does. Eva

Hi Cherry Bomb, There are some great resources out there. Yogajournal.com (excellent resource as is there magazine) Some good books Mega Yoga (yoga for plus size has great information about proper poses and how not to hurt yourself but get all the benafits) Kripalu yoga (has step by step instructions for Kripalu style yoga) I love almost all the DVD by Shiva Rea and Baron Baptiste though there styles are different. I'd start of light if theres any yoga studios in your area call around and see if they have a beginners class or free intro. If your already going to the gym and they have a class try to meet up with the instructor and let them know your new at it and ask for advice on proper form. Ultimatly give it a try but dont over do it start slow it takes time to stretch into ourselves it doesn't happen overnight. But I love when Im able to accomplish something new in yoga that I couldn't before when I feel a deeper stretch or even just after class. You'd be suprised there are forms that will make you sweat and could even replace an arobics class. I'm currently trying to work on my daily practice its hard but I know I'm seeing changes and will only see more as long as Im consistent plus I try to go to atleast to formal classes a week so like 4-5 x at home and 2x at gym. I've been doing yoga for years and have just begun to get into some serious poses and wonder how and if the band will affect my flow. My Yoga instructor suggested I should be concerned once Im banded if I were to do any inversions or complicated poses because she said your organs shift in some positions. So Im wondering would the band prevent me from getting really seriously into Yoga? When I asked my Dr. he said he didnt know. Does anyone here have a serious commited daily practice? and has the band had any ill effects on thier flow? Do they feel limited in any ways by the band? Any advice or opinions greatly appreciated as well as if anyone is interested I'd love to have this be an ongoing thread about Yoga and aspirring yogis. Namaste

Ive been loosing weight preop and find myself out of my size already to be honest I've been shopping old navy because they are so cheap. Also Ive been buying pants with a draw string waist dont laugh I can reel em in later lol and I bought my shirts a little more snug then I like so they will fit right soon.

Your right I did take offense and perhaps I came accross abit strong. I am just a very upfront person not so much mad. Its just when I read posts that express opinions that are made without experience it does offend. I come from a major city and honestly I've traveled alot around the country and see how the views as well as living conditions differ dramatically for immigrants. its just to be truthfull I find some of the comments offensive and there are those who can tell me then dont read the post but then you'll never realize that what you say is offensive to others. As for the comment of voting I am a citizen and a registered voter and have every intention to vote. I dont agree that people who came before the immigration laws have more rights then those who came after. I know what the laws and they need to be followed but what I am expressing is there right to be here on a continent perhaps my views of the world are a little larger then others and perhaps I see things through a a different set of glasses, but I dont beleive that this country is mine its everyones I dont see the neigborhood as belonging to me so much as me belonging to it. Hey if you dont see my point you probably never will but if you also dont see how some of the comments were racist and very suburban housewife driven I cant help you either way I wont be keeping up with this thread since to be honest Im here to learn more about the band and how it can help me improve my life not try to change someones views on the rights of the rest of humanity. Hrm I guess my point was to say we all have the right to be here. But to see some one say that because there were no laws when the pilgrims came were not all illegals here wow what an ignorant statement. Are you a direct desendant from the mayflower whos family is inbred and not mixed with something else lol I cant belive you would make such a statement. Sadly thats the racism and the attitude of entitlement that destroys our country. When you can crawl out of your shell and get over yourself and your feeling of the perfection that you see in your self and your children and realize this country was founded on the belief that we all have the right to be here then maybe this country will have a chance. Untill then sadly other peoples children will continue to be frowned upon by people like yourself who think better of themselves and continue to perpatrate the circle of racism. When you say that its unfair that children have to learn spanish reducate yourself. this country at least a good part of this country was stolen from mexico so why not have to learn spanish. Its so sad that you see the Country as belonging to you and not see it as the melting pot it is. There is truth in the need to create a more secure method for people to enter this country but to think that any single one of us is better then any other who landed here is truly an ignorant and racist statement to belive that you do not in any way affect the life of others in a 3rd world country is just lack of information on world trade. Unless you live in an omish community that grows and does everything naturally your affecting people in another part of the world. The very existance and life style we are afforded in this country is at the expense of others. Of this I am very much aware and try my damdest to give something back to my community and to organizations that help others. You'd be supprised how much better life would be if you put yourself in someone elses shoes and thought before you spoke or typed.

Funny Funny Funny, This is amusing to me on so many levels. As a first generation american whos parents both entered the country legally and both speak english as well as a few other languages fluently I feel compeled to share my part. On the topic of legal vs illegal entry into this country. Get over it!! ok I would love for people to get checked for safety reasons prior to entering the country but as far as limiting there ability to enter due to concerns for them not following the process I can only laugh. Not one person here unless they are full blooded american indian or mexican has any entitlement to this country. We are all imigrants and every last one faced discrimination from the group before them and let us not forget land of opportunity... On concerns that people take advantage of the system and then go home. Ok LOLOLOL hello they go home and sew your clothes and make your shoes. Its so funny how americans who are the largest consumers in the world forget where all those products come from dah the poor countries and what do mom and pop who came here to work and go home and open a buisness do? they try to build a buisness in the poor country. That buisness eventually feeds or clothes the people who feed and cloth you. Stop crying or we'll have to pay more for Polo and Tommy and puma =P On the topic of national language well again if were not speaking a native american tongue or spanish truth be told a get over it already its about time americans spoke a second language take advantage of the neighbor who speaks limited english and learn there language. Its sad but our kids are falling behind. STOP enabeling them force them to learn stuff. Recently while in the supermarket I was speaking to my husband in another language an non other language speaker stopped and gawked at me. I was not speaking loudly I stoped and asked her if I could help her with something I mean she looked stuck like.. she said oh no i didnt think you spoke english I laughed at her and told her she may want to try not trying to eaves drop on other peoples conversation she may be a little less offended. Ok maybe I sound like I was on the defensive but no you had to see her expression it was like disgust and it was offensive. I personally on many occasions have experienced racist remarks while speaking another language. But it always amuses me as to how quickly someone will appolagize and act as if they were not rude when they see you respond in english. So get over it and be carefull alot of us speak english as a first language but speak a second language when we dont want you to listen. so you just never know now do you? While in Arizona I had friends talk about how much they hated mexicans and I could do nothing but laugh. People mexicans feed you.. they raise your children, wash your houses, work at all the places americans are to good for and all we do is hate them. Again get over it. I see few people fighting for the jobs that migrant workers take I dont see many americans picking strawberries or tomatoes. You know worry about the indians or the chinese who speak your english language because they usually speak thier language and a few others also and they not only will take your jobs but export them because we americans are becoming so lazy that our mom and pop companies are moving overseas to find employees. Stop looking for exuses in others and force our kids to get the education they need so that we can be on top again. Ok Im done by the way I am proud to be an american =P
