after you get your band file a formal compaint with whomever she works for lol

have you tried stevia? its all natural

I think its Olestra just over the counter. Im not banded yet but honestly I dont think you should take anything without checking with your dr. If its the same as olestra essentially it punishes you for eating high fat foods by giving you the runs and gas with leakies. Personally I dont need to punish myself like that since I do enough mental punishing when I eat overly fat stuff on my own but you know whatever works for you.

My BFF is a natural 0-2 shes a tiny little thing and to be honest I dont think I'll be telling her about my plans to get the band. She would only always hold it over my head or tell people about it lol I love her she is like a sister to me but I also know her all too well. Such is life. One can only hope people will be happy you are trying to make your life better.

Need to pick my surgeon in MA...
EVA replied to gingin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I picked Dr. Hess at BMC he only does two procedures the lapband and rny its a center of excellence and has had a 0 mortality rate for both procedures for 6 years. I picked him because my weight loss dr recomended him and I trust her implicitly. She is the Director of nutrition and weightloss for boston medical center and a nutrition consultant for nasa sadly she recomends rny and in this Im having a problem trusting lol but I still have some time to decide. Though the surgeon recomends either procedure go figure hehe. I definatly recomend finding a surgeon and clinic you are comftorable with and can get to easily. Best of luck -
Ok so the funny thing is I decided to go look up the asbs thingy and what do I see my dr's name as in my dr is one of the major panalists lol the same dr that told me if in my shoes would choose rny. Im about 250 and am 5'3 so I could have either procedure so Ive been really wanting the lapband its just funny how I feel like Im being pushed the other way. Just thought I'd vent about how Karma's laughing at me.

Re: Ive been searching for info and support re lap-band surgery
EVA posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
ok so Im officially frustrated over the information out there on the web. Ive attended my first WLS live group support meeting and not one patient was there for having lapband surgery they were all rny or waiting for rny. This is a center for excellence. Ive also have been searching online for information and was super frustrated when I came accross this page. Laparoscopic RNY Gastric Bypass vs LAP-BAND Read it and then tell me what you think this is supposed to be from a center of excellence. You would think that inamed wouldn't want this doctor using there device if he felt this way about it. I just need to talk to people who have succeeded with the band and I keep getting information about those who haven't. Any suggestions? Eva -

at this point in the game I am best where I am. I have one of the top surgeons in the Boston area considering Boston is world renowned for medacine that says alot. My surgeon suggested I would lose approx 80 lbs with band and about 130 with rny. He is not the one swaying me. He told me I would be a great canadate for either procedure. He also performs about 25% lband to 75% rny with a few thousand bands under his belt. They have been banding at this hospital for over 6 years. Its the wls groups, the nutritionist, and my wl dr who are swaying me. I know this is my desicion its just a hard one I had my heart set on a band and I feel like everyone outside this forum is saying dont do it lol. Its alot to swallow and I have very little time I need to decide by the 1st thats when they submit it to my insurance. Well wish me luck. Eva -

Well today didnt seem to help me much either. I went for dr approval and got it along with her suggestions that I get rny she said that Id probably only loose like 30lbs with the band. This is so frustrating for me I really want the band but am feeling disouraged she suggested with rny I would achieve my goal weight within a year. She even said you can go with the band now and always get rny later if your not sure. I dont want rny but I do have alot of weight to loose. Im so confused now. -

Thanks
