Elliptical : 61 min. Wt. Training: 34 min. Treadmill: 31 min., this is to replace the walk to & from the gym, as it was raining today & I didn't feel like getting wet. Whosyadaddy- I'm going to change my goal as soon as I get to 170, because I want to lose more, especially before my LBL in December.

Looking for North Central Idaho Band buddy
angelnurse replied to TrimKim's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
sandy pants- As you can see by my signature, I had Dr. Pennings place my lapband almost 2 years ago. I was on the liquid diet for 5 weeks but I believe you have to be on it a minimum of 4 weeks Pre-Op. As for the tests, some of that depends on your medical history. I had a history of GERD, so he did an EGD (esophagealgastroduodenoscopy) basically put a scope down my esophagus to check for ulcers, varicies, etc. I think he does an abdominal ultrasound on everyone and of course there is the blood work. Heather Miller the Program Director or Coordinator should be able to tell you what you need or Sue or Terry, Dr. Penning's nurses will let you know. Ask questions! Good Luck to you. Do you have a surgery date yet? You can PM me if you have any more questions. -

Walked 4.4 miles, 68 min. No gym today as I didn't have that much time today after working all night. My PS Consult is tomorrow, so I'll be skipping the gym, as I work nights and have to go home and shower before going to the Consult.

Dibaby-If you remove the inserts that came in your shoes, the gel ones will fit without making the shoes tighter. It really helped me.

Walked to & from gym: 2.79 mi., 43 min. Elliptical: 65 min. Wt. Training: 30 min. Dibaby- Did you also try gel inserts in your shoes or running socks that are padded. These help me with my feet.

Walked to & from gym: 3.77 mi., 50 min. Elliptical: 77 min. Wt. Training: 30 min. I pushed it at the gym as I'm going to the movies with friends tonight and I'm having an extra protein bar today, so I needed to burn-up an extra 170 calories.:faint:

Foods you can't eat?
angelnurse replied to ShineNSta's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't eat soft breads, tortillas and flat bread are good. I can eat crackers but I choose not to eat any except 100% whole grain Kashi crackers which are healthier than your average cracker. No saturated fats and whole grains. I sometimes have a problem with eggs, I need to chew the whites up real good or they seem to get stuck. I don't do any read meat except for ground hamburger because by the time you finish chewing it it's the consistency of dog food. I have to really be careful with raw carrots and chew them up. Everyone is different depending on the restriction with their fill. The first year has a learning curve and you'll figure out what works for you. Good Luck! -
Took a walk for a little over an hour. It's warmer today than when I went walking yesterday. I'll keep walking as long as the weather holds out. Not looking forward to winter. Hope everyone had a good day today.:biggrin1:

Dibaby- I know all about the feet going numb and then burning. I've got plantar fasciitis. My feet used to start tingling and going numb after 20 min., then they would start to burn at about 30 or 40 min. I got some extra thick running socks and that has helped some. I've just gotten used to the feet doing their thing, as soon as I get off the elliptical it takes a few minutes, but I get the feeling back in my feet, it doesn't last long and the results are worth it. You can also try some gel inserts for your shoes.

Taking it easy cause it's the weekend. Walked 4 miles to the grocery store, it took a little over an hour. I'll probably walk tomorrow too, then back to the gym Monday morning. Got my consult with the PS changed to this coming Friday, I'm soooo excited, I can hardly stand it!!!!!!!! Dibaby, I'm sure you could do 66 min. on the elliptical, I started with 20 min. and gradually increased it.

How long from initial appointment to banding?
angelnurse replied to ambaloosa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My appoinment with my surgeon, after I had been to the informational seminar, was 11/10. My surgery was on 12/21. It helped that I was Self-Pay, as I didn't have to jump through any hoops before getting the band. -

jmcambra, Thanks! I'm really hitting the exercise hard because I have a PS consult on the 15th and I want the Doc to say I can have the belt lipectomy(lower body lift) this year instead of next. I have the $ now, as I just refinanced my house.
