Days 1,2 & 3 of Protein Challenge: Got in at least 90 grams of protein all three days. Haven't had time to post everyday because of work and/or training for the 12K. Survived the 12K today and then went to Church, just waiting for them to post the times online as this idiot didn't look at her watch when she crossed the start line. Maybe the next race I'll remember to time myself, LOL. Can't wait to hear what the next challenge will be as this is helping me to stay on my plan.

Wynn, This is exactly what I meant. Some of us, myself included, can be a little tight in the am or "pressed" for time and need to or choose to drink their protein at times, so I count the grams of protein in my protein powder and if I use skim milk, I count the grams of protein in that too. Most doctors want you to get "solid" protein, but sometimes you can't get enough in the food you eat and have to "supplement" with a protein shake or protein bar.

Wynn, Can't people that are on liquids count their protein grams? Most protein, in solid form, has approximately 6-7 grams of protein per ounce. Couldn't they just make sure that they get 3 meals of at least 21 grams of protein? Just a thought...

Left knee doing okay, will probably have to wear my brace for the 12K on Sunday, but....Hope you all are doing well with your exercising. Bonnie, sorry to hear about your fall, hope you are okay. Day 1 of Exercise Challenge: Just got back from an 8-mile walk/jog. Very happy that I finished in under 2 hours, but decided that I'm too friggin' old for this, LOL. After next Sunday, I think I'll go back to leisurely walks or bike rides. Good Luck 2 everyone on the challenge.

Wynn, I'm in for the next challenge. I got in over 100 ounces of water per day for the last challenge, but thankfully I've never had a problem getting my water in. Keep the challenges coming as this is helping me to get back on track, thanks again!

Question about compression garments
angelnurse replied to lellow's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
lellow-I had a lower body lift a little over a year ago & I didn't wear any underwear under my compression garment. My doctor has everyone wear them next to the skin, it compresses the incisions better & they need to be tight w/o any wrinkles. If you wore underwear, the waistband would probably rub on the incisions. Your doctor will let you know what he/she wants. -
Mum, Good Luck with your surgery. I had a lower body lift a little over a year ago and have no regrets. Sorry to hear about your marriage though. My Doctor would not let me go home unless I had someone with me 24/7 for 5 days. Hope you can get someone to come & stay as it really helped me. I wasn't able to shower w/o help, as I needed someone to take off the compression garment, dry me off & put on another garment. It was also helpful with getting in & out of bed & going to the bathroom.

Quennee, I had a lower body lift a year ago. The recovery is different for everyone, but it was harder than I thought. I had to take off 2 months from work & the gym. I would swell so much after being up all day, but you may not have that problem. The surgery was also more painful than I thought it would be, but everyone has a different pain threshold, so...Good Luck with your surgery. It is so worth all the pain though, so go for it! I was a size 12 b4 the surgery & within a few weeks was able to fit into a size 8 jeans. Now can wear a 6/8 & never thought I'd be that small. Hope you have as good of results as I did.

Denise, Have you tried taking Probiotics on a daily basis, thereby maintaining a healthy bacteria in your body. I've only had one vaginal yeast infection due to antibiotics and have had chronic bronchitis and been on lots of antibiotics in my day. I used to take acidolphilus every day, but there are much better Probiotics on the market now. I take one called acidophilus pearls, made by Enzymatic, they are very small & easy to take. Their website is www.trupearls.com Worth a try? Good luck!

Revised From Band to Sleeve: Did you have a large mass where your port was?
angelnurse replied to 4meonly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
4meonly, Can you call your doc in MX? How large a "mass" are we talking about? It's probably just scar tissue, but if it was me, I'd want to make sure everything was okay. -

Probably just scar tissue from the port. As for the other question, stool color can be affected by dyes, food & medicine. -
Karen, Hang in there! I had one of my drains for 21 days, you just get used to them, the first one was out on day 13 post-op. Hope things are going well with your recovery.
