Thongs are the skinnest, but you can also buy T-backs which are a little wider at the top and more comfortable IMO. I wear T-backs now on occasion and have no problem.

Anyone Wish They Had Not Done Their Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
ATLGirl replied to Karelia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thought the approach may have been harsh, I think June was right on point with her advice to Tamz. As someone who is almost 6 months out, I can tell you it gets better. The first week was pure hell. The first month hell. And you know everyday it gets better. At almost 6 months out and 70 pounds gone. I'm happy I did the sleeve. I am even a happy slow loser. I think the only people giving you advice should be those who are AT LEAST 3 months out. 6 months if you wanna know about real remose. The first few weeks are NOT always nice, but you can have a really crappy early sleever talk you out of the best choice you can make for your life. Then in 4 months when Tamz posting NSVs and buying sizes in the misses section, you'll be wondering why the heck you listened to a new sleever. In my opinion. -
Make sure its really hunger. If liquids are not helping, try an antiacid. Some sleevers never get rid of the hungry feeling. Some have it come and go. But its too soon to move to the next stage. Egg drop soup sans egg helped me in the beginning.

Labor Day - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???
ATLGirl replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I failed miserable for my 4th of July goal. My body stalled out like crazy and other health issues got in the way. I didn't gain, but I didn't lose anything in a month. So I'm back at it. SN..............219........219.......199....... 20 -

I figured I might as well update here too. I surgery about 5 months ago, and overall I am happy with my weightloss. To date its about 65 pounds. The last few weeks (almost a month) I have stalled between 218-220. I keep telling myself that my body is just going to be one of those bodies that need a little more time. It was my goal to get to ONEderland within 6 months of my surgery. I don;t know if that will happen. I am actually, for the first time since surgery, on a "diet." I am hoping this jump starts my weightloss again and get me to ONEderland. I can tell I am losing inches, but there is nothing like seeing that scale move. I haven't worked out as much due to another health related problem, so I know that is also apart of the problem. But I am still hopeful. My skin is not bad at all. The stretch markes are out and about, but I'm okay with that. My husband doesn't mind. I think my boobs are shrunk about all they will shrink (fingers crossed) and my hair is still thick and full. Being in my 20a getting the surgery has me feeling optimistic about the rest of my life. I am a new mom and new wife waiting to embrace this new life. I thought that I would be a quicker loser because of my weight, but as we see this is not the case. Though I am happy to report I lost 2 pounds yesterday! I am glad I don;thave to look back over my ife and question why didn't I do anything sooner. Wish me luck on my ONEderland goal 26. is my 6 month mark. 18 pounds to go. Well that's about it. Any questions, let me know. -

I got tree braids (simialr to micros) the week of my surgery. I am natural, but I didn't want to worry about maintaining anything while I recovered. This helped me with my self esteem too in the beginning. Even though I was feeling crappy, slugglish, and like a bolder, I know my hair looked fly...lol. Hope this helps.

Loss, stall, loss, stall
ATLGirl replied to USMCwifeandTEACHER's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh honey I share you pain. I have been at 218-220 for a month! A whole month! I am back at the basics and still nothing. I KNOW this is NOT where my body is bottoming out. Truth me told, I am going on a "diet" for the first time since surgery next week in hopes that it will kick start something in my body. I know this is not a sprint but a journey but come on- being at mile marker 220 for a month hasn't been a thrill. -
I was sick in te beginning too. I think it was becasue I was still trying to figure out what was my limits, how did this or that affect my body, and what didn;t sit well. I didnt introduce bread until well after 2 months. i stuck with my protein (maily fish and turkey plus cheese) and with my vegs. Make sure you are not eating and drinking at the same time. Everyone's body is different. So if you are still feeling sick, you may need to go back to mushies for a week then try again. Hope this helps.

Of course I know I got the sleeve for long lasting results and I am happy with my weightloss (most days) so far. But a few of my family members and friends are on the HCG diet and doing well. Like really well. I have been researching it for the past week. I watched the Dr. Oz and The doctors episode about what HCG is, does, and doesn't do. For the last month I have stalled out though I am doing a lot to break it. I went back to the basics for a week (100grs of Protein, 20 carbs), I have shaken it up (upcoming calories to 1200 while on Zumba), and mroe. So I looking for something to kick my body back into fat burning mode. I figured, doing this for a month might do so. Again, I know why I invested and went through the procedure to have the sleeve. I know all about the money I took from my savings, the money going to Mexico, the prayers, and the 61 pounds lost so far. I really don't need to hear "I lost 150 pounds in 6 months with my sleeve only" leave the diets out. I would like to hear from those struggling, like me, and have tried some form of dieting (perferable HCG) and it reved back up their weightloss. Thanks. :-)

will the weight loss speed up again?
ATLGirl replied to faithstar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Glad to see I'm not alone... 5 months out and I have been up and down the last 3 pounds for at least 2 weeks. In the 220s for a months. :-( -
Thanks Tiff. I really respect your POV. I just feel like I need to do something to shake my body up. I want to get to at least 170 before my body even thinks about leveling out. I don't know what to do really. I still feel the restriction and eat soooo much protein. I don't know.

Nikki, do you knw there is a Sleeve Plication forum also. There is a huge difference in the sleeve plication and the traditional sleeve. The weighloss and challenges are not the same. I too considered the plication first, but opted for the sleeve (love my sleeve). You are welcome in the space (of course) but I wanted you to be aware of the other site. -
Sometimes I feel like I am on the right track, and then there are days like this. Still stuck at 221. Been in the 220s for a month. I get protein in, water, and everything else. I know this is NOT the end. But I am getting a little discourage if I must admit. I sooooo want this number to start with a 1 by November BUT losing 10 pounds one month then stalling for another won't get it. Looking for hugs. I sooooo wish I was one of those "1 lost 100 pounds in 6 mo" people. *Sigh*
