  1. Do you have a laptop you can bring. If there is an internet connection you can always skype for free. Even if you don't have a webcam you can still make the phone call.

    120 lbs and plication?

Here's my info straight forward: Plication with Dr. Watkins on 12/29/2010 Total loss (including the 2 week pre-op liquid diet): 31 pounds (8 weeks total) Total to loose: 125 pounds I was NOT told I had too much to loose for plication and I feel fantastic. I have no regrets. Good luck with your decision!
  3. I had GPS 3 weeks ago and have lost 15 pounds. Since starting the pre op diet 5 weeks ago I'm down a total of 29 pounds! I'm very happy with my results. The only trouble I'm having is getting in all my calories and protein. I have been focusing on the protein lately and it seems to feel better. I haven't thrown up or experienced slimming. I also haven't come across any foods that aren't sitting well. Most everything it good as long as I eat slow and chew well. Good luck to all!

    gurgling belly

I got that the other night. I just assumed I was digesting and was only hearing it because it was quiet and I was going to sleep. I'm 3 weeks out.
  5. I'm just about one week out from surgery. I'm down 6 lbs, that's probably the liquids but I'll take it! I haven't felt sick or thrown up. Today I'm moving up from liquids to mushies, but my post op instructions say most food is considered mushy if chewed well enough and taken in small bites. I am looking forward to eating regular food and since I haven't had any issues so far I'm optimistic that it will go very smoothly. lunch today is probably going to be mashed potatoes and maybe some cheese. Day 1 after surgery

2 days out now. Feeling better about the gas pain. Sipping on my Water and protien shakes. Had some applesauce last night and that went well. Tonight being NYE I'm headed out to a bar that's down the street from me. Couches, live music and tea. I bet I'm home by 10 because I'll be exhausted but I'm just happy I feel up to heading out. Ran some errands with the boyfriend this morning too. Happy 2011 to everyone out there! Good luck to those working towards your goal and be strong those still pre-op.
  7. So I had my GPS yesterday with Dr. Watkins. I can totally feel the gas pain but my abs and incisions don't really hurt unless I stretch or stand tall. I can walk around the house pretty normally and am considering taking the dog out for a walk later. I only took the pain meds to sleep. Haven't taken them any more. Also I've only been drinking Water to stay hydrated. Feeling good there so I'm going to make some chicken broth for lunch. Made some Jello and that's chilling in the fridge. Something I didn't know before hand... How freakishly dry my mouth was all day after surgery! Maybe that's how they get you to keep sipping that water. Mouth isn't as dry today. I'm sitting with a heating pad on my neck/shoulders because of the gas pain... Not unbearable but a little uncomfortable. The only excruciating pain was when I got the hiccups last night. Talk about bad. I was in tears. I couldn't guzzle down water to get rid of them and holding my breath hurt too. They finally went away and that was a huge relief. I'll update more later!
  8. I agree on the Lane Bryant cc! I want to buy boots. In 2011 I want less back pain. I also want to cross my legs without effort. I want to fit in the roller coaster rides like I used too. I don't want to have back pain anymore. I want to wear heels! I want to go dancing with my girlfriends without sweating. Hope your surgery went fantastic! Mine is on the 29th!

    New and interested

My surgery is on the 29th of this month with Dr. Watkins. My GPS procedure including 2 years of follow up costs $9,900. Good luck to you. The day I decided WLS was right for me was the day I started feeling happier with myself.
  10. I am getting the GPS procedure with Dr. Watkins on December 29th. I really liked that the cost of Dr. Watkins included 2 years of follow ups. Every thing's included type deal. He's a bit more expensive that Dr. C but I think him and his staff are worth every penny. I didn't do any research on Dr. C since I live in Cincinnati it made sense to go to the close Dr. I'm sure you get wonderful care and skill with either Dr. Good luck with your decision!
