Feeling great and loving my sleeve...for the first time ever, I really believe I can reach my goal weight! Still can't believe that I weigh less than 200 lbs...I can't even remember the last time I was under 200. My mind has not yet caught up with the loss though. For example, I have a small ladder with a weight limit of 250. I used to climb on it very carefully, well aware that I was over the limit. I was on it the other day and was thinking, "I have no business being on this ladder when I'm so far over the weight limit!" when it hit me...I'm way under the weight limit now! LOL Things like that. A few days post-op... 198!

Thank you so much! You can definitely do this! As far as my diet goes, I focus on Protein. I still have good restriction, so I don't fit in much else. I would say I low carb it, but I'm not as low as a lot of others I know with the sleeve. Maybe if I had done that I would be at goal by now, who knows. Most of my carbs for each day come from my myoplex lite Protein Bar that I love for Breakfast and peanuts. I love peanuts and they are an easy snack, but my weight loss seems to improve when I cut them out. I track everything on MyFitnessPal...if you are on there and want to friend me, my username is Johnso53. My calories are usually around 800-900 now that I am over 8 months out. As far as exercise, early out, I was walking a lot and then I added swimming. I was swimming either .5-1 mile a few times a week. The past month and a half my swimming has been much more sporadic because I got distracted with moving, but my goal is to get back into it regularly in the next 2 weeks. I'm also going to add strength training because it is supposed to be wonderful. Wish me luck!

5 months out, 113 lbs down! With Photos
Lindsey replied to warrior68's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I just started shopping in the regular sizes myself and I LOVE IT! It is still kind of weird though because when I'm in the store, I feel like other shoppers or the employees are looking at me like, "Does she think she can shop in here??" Then when I fit into the clothes, I feel the need to walk outside of the dressing room in them so as to say, "Yes, I do fit into your clothes!" to my invisible audience. LOL I can't wait for my head to catch up with my new self. I am also looking forward to "onederland." I am about 9 lbs from being under 200 for the first time in my adult life. I am hoping I will hit this by my birthday in late August! So exciting! Lindsey -
ALMOST 9mos POST OP!! PICS!!!!!! :D

Looking great! Congrats, Lindsey -
I'm not very active on this site, so I hope I am adding these pictures correctly, but I was so excited by a recent NSV that I had to share! First pics are immediately post-op and then the other day in a TJ Maxx dressing room, lol. I am just over 6 months out and about 88 lbs down. I recently fit into and bought a size Large Calvin Klein top for $7.00!!! I was excited that I fit into a regular size (I've been in plus sizes FOREVER and am still a 16W or 18R on the bottom). It blows my mind that if I could just go down one more pant size that I will be done with plus size shopping for good! Thanks! Lindsey

Wow, Meg...your husband's capacity sounds much larger than mine. I'm just over 6 months out. Do you know anything about the bougie size used for his surgery? Reading your post made me a little nervous about how much more I might be able to eat in a few more months.

Wow, what amazing progress! Congrats! I can't even remember the last time my weight started with a "1", but now I feel it is actually within sight and I'm hoping to hit it before my birthday at the end of August.

My Biggest NSV's so far
Lindsey replied to Nikkeystar's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
What awesome NSVs! Your body must be so happier 120+ lbs lighter! I have a PCP check-up coming up in July and I am actually looking forward to seeing the doctor and getting weighed. Wow! That is a new feeling. -
I started experiencing some hair loss about 4.5-5 months out and am still experiencing it. No one can tell except me and maybe my hairdresser, but I do notice a lot of hair coming out in the shower and when brushing my hair. I'm just hoping that it will stop sometime soon. Most everyone I know who has experienced hair loss says that no one else noticed and that of course it grows back in time.

That is hilarious about the girl not working there! What an awesome NSV! I can't wait to be able to go into those cute boutique shops I see whenever I'm traveling somewhere fun. You must have felt fantastic...you certainly looked fantastic! What an amazing feeling to know you can find something to fit in any store around. I can't wait to get there. Congrats on all your success!

Need help from band to sleeve revision folks
Lindsey replied to fern's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had my band removal and VSG done all in the same surgery; however, my band had been unfilled for several months prior to my surgery. I have heard several people able to have the removal and revision done in one procedure but have heard others that required some healing time after the removal. I guess it will depend on her specific condition. I was sad when I first decided to do a revision and realized my band wasn't ever going to work the way I thought it was going to...but now I couldn't be happier! I hope all goes well and she gets that band cut out! Best of luck! -
Thanks everyone for the replies! I'm completely cleaning out my closet this weekend and it is so freeing to say good-bye to things I didn't really like, but bought and wore because they were in my size. Woo Hoo!

Thank you! I am getting to a very exciting phase of my weight loss. I'm about 1 lb away from getting out of the obese BMI range and then 15 lbs to onederland. I can't wait to see what this summer has in store for me!
