Hello Everyone, I have been looking to find a doctor in the Sacramento area that will accept people that were banded in Mexico. It has been six months of searching and disappointment. A few times I came close to getting a doctor near me but then it becomes a nightmare with insurance issues. I have even offered to just pay cash and because I have Medicare they say they can not do that. Anyone know a fill doctor near me? Thanks

I go to Taco Bell and order from their lo cal menu. And don't have any problem as long as I chew thoroughly. But remember not to drink while eating.

Hi Kate, I was living in Ferndale when I had my band put in. I had it done in Mexico though and no problems with that other than not having a fill doc locally. Now there is Northwest fill center in Arlington, Wa. I went to them before I moved to Ca. this last May after living in Bellingham-Ferndale for over twenty years. They are very affordable and friendly. So you can rest better knowing you have local after care-fill service. I hope this helps you and any others that did not know about the fill center. Jratkell

Starting the holiday detox early, anyone wanna join me?
jratkell replied to Boo Boo Kitty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Thread, I started my detox on the first and today is the sixth day of liquids only. I feel the need to do this as I do not have a fill doctor in my area that will help people that got banded in Mexico as I did on 3-19-07. I want to ask you what the pouch diet is? But I'm doing so well so far maybe I should just stick with altering liquids and small portion meals again. I am already past most hunger pains since the first! I'll continue with you. -
does anyone have thoughts on DR. Lopez in TJ?

Hi There, My wife and I were both banded in TJ by Dr. Lopez Corvala in Angels Hospital on 3-19-07. Nothing but good things to say about him and the team that work with him. If you want to know more ask me! -
Hi, I was banded in TJ by Dr Corvalla on 3-19-07 at Angels Hospital. My wife too. We have nothing but good things to say about him and his team. For the then price of one band here in the States my wife and I were banded. So I say go for it! I have lost over 80 lbs and I'd do it all again if I had to. Good luck, JRATKELL

Hi There, I know what your friend is going through. I was banded a little over a year ago myself and for the last 3 months I have been vomiting up salvia (a lot of it) when I try to eat certian foods. I too have lost over 80lbs and have had only one small fill over six months ago. I have a appointment with a specialist to see if my lap has slipped. Tell your friend to switch to soft foods for awhile. I'm able now to eat solids if its not greassy food. I also make up protien drinks. Yogurt stays down good too. When I find out more about this problem can I email you? Happy to help a fellow bandit.

Hi, I have a almost the same problem. I spit up alot of saliva after eating a few bite of food. I chew the food until it's mush but still cough up saliva not the food. It seems to happen with solid foods. Yogurt, ice cream and soft food never sets it off. I have been banded since March 07 and have had just one small fill 6 months ago. Also have loss over 80 lbs. I just started having this problem a few months ago. No other health issues. Let me know if you get an answer to this. Thanks.
