You're doing great! It was 6 weeks & I was eating beef & pork plus popcorn (my favorite!) as it seems to be my slider. I have "slimed" twice with chicken tho. We are supposed to wait 4 months for raw veggies, correct?

PCP won't do 3 month tests!!!!
Luanne replied to wash's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
3-12-11, UPDATE: My doctor ordered the upper GI & blood work tests, they all came back perfect plus my insurance paid for them--no questions asked! -

Put metabolim in search, there's great advice here. Mine surely has to be messed up too ~ I lost 90 on my own, put 20 slowly back on, & then bam--another 45 in 3 months. I was out-of-control and that is when I knew I needed it done asap. 38 lbs: You're doing great at around 3 months! I've been on a stall until a few days ago due to my own laziness and the don't-want-to stuff. Plus having ice cream on hand = what was I thinking?!! Journaling my food & exercise seems to be the key to keeping me on track. As they talk about on here, try shaking up your calories & exercise, make sure you're getting enough protein, or maybe your body is just catching up...we have a great lifetime tool. Lu

I am sooo glad that I was by myself thru the liquid stage and that I didn't have to smell or watch food being eaten! I did go out to lunch a few times on the pureed stage and brought baby food to eat while my companions enjoyed theirs. Theirs looked good and I made a mental note to put it on my to-eat list when I could BUT the small sacrifices leading to a lifetime tool is extremely well worth it!!! Hang in!

I figured that I thought I'd tell those closest to me and thought it would go no further as it would be MY business to share. Several did not respect the confidence whatsoever. I was sitting at dinner with about 15 friends, talking about the HGT diet that one friend was on and he blurted out, "Ya but Lu had weightloss surgery!" I just quietly said, "And my decision to share..." This would be the Perfect Idiot: AFTER I had it done, a friend kept saying she just wasn't good with it and so negative about the what-ifs (stomach cancer, etc.) and what could go wrong that I had to flat tell her, "It's too late now! Either support me or get over it. It's done." I've been out to dinner many times and order small or what I want and then get a go-box. I might mention I ate a big lunch or nothing as it is none of their business.

changing sizes......
Luanne replied to italianmama41's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I buy good bargains in smaller sizes to shoot for my goal [of getting into them]. I keep trying them on until one day they do. Many go to thriftstores from what I've read and why not. Good luck on your journey ~ my weight loss may have turned into a shopping addiction...it's such a great feeling to be able to try clothes on that fit and look good! -
Way to go!!! ~ I have 7 more til I'm there!

"They" say no to anything with carbonation as it could stretch the stomach. Try putting a little baking soda in atad of water...that should help you burp, worth a try anyway!

Looking to and living for Tomorrow
Luanne replied to ranchersdaughter's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
As you, I gained, lost, and regained. After losing 90 "the right way" I emotionally put 65 back on...45 of that in 3 months. I was out-of-control which made my final decision asap! The Sleeve has been a wonderful tool for me. I'm 3 months out & can eat anything but alot less of it. Good luck = YOU're worth it! -
We're hand in hand! = 55, surgery 12-9-10, about 36 lbs lost, and I'm almost at onderland too, 207 this morn. Great to meet you! Lu

has anyone been on Pristique? before surgery and what to take after surgery
Luanne replied to kelli's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I switched to a liquid Prozac and at 10 weeks was back on Pristique. What does your doctor say? My choice is still liquid vitamins tho. -
I was just in for my 3 mo checkup and my doctor suggested this Galvanic Spa ultraviolet for me! The results look amazing!

How long were you in the hospital?
Luanne replied to sychadelic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had mine done Thurs afternoon and out Sat about 5 pm. They told me I looked like a gal that hadn't had surgery...I was up walking the minute I came out of sedation. I was atad uncomfortable on the 2 hour ride home but recovered at home by myself after that with no problems. -
You look amazing!

Dr Aceves in Mexicalli = I had VSG on 12-9-10. I drove my car the 2 miles in, parked at the hospital 24hr security parking lot, and was shuttled back 'n forth to my hotel.
-
Mine was 12-9-10 and I started back on my regular meds last week with no problem. I decided liquid Vitamins are something I will stick with for a long time tho. I just had my 3 month upper GI test yesterday and the radiologist told me, "no leaks, good to go."

I've always had "a want to be size" that I try on until one day they fit! I buy smaller sizes to work into. Don't be scared!
