A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
bandanarama replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi all I am leaving tomorrow for Toronto (about 2 hours from here) and then my surgery is scheduled for Thursday morning. I haven't really had any time to be nervous because I've been tying up loose ends at work and home (I'm leaving my 20 month old with my husband and he always needs a little help:). I'm ready for this day and it seems like I've been preparing forever but now I can't believe the time is actually here. See you on the other side! deanna Dr. Mumford Apr. 26/07 338/318/175 -
A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?

I am so glad I found this thread. I know that everyone is fighting the fight but it is different to be fighting to lose 150 lbs than those who need to lose 40 - 50 lbs! It's so depressing to wish you looked like someone else's before picture! I am scheduled for surgery on Apr. 26 so I am counting down the days now (5 days in case you're wondering). I have been on an optifast liquid diet for over 2 weeks now and if I can make it through that I think I can make it through anything!!!!!!! I've really enjoyed reading all of your messages (even the toilet tong ones!) and look forward to getting to know all of you better. deanna Dr. Mumford April 26 338(H)/321/175 -
going crazy pre op?
bandanarama replied to RAYSBABE's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been on Optifast for the past 2 weeks (1 more to go) and the thing I have realized is that I don't think I even know what physical hunger is!! It's always head hunger telling me what to eat and when and how much but I have completely lost touch with my own body. I think this will be my biggest lesson to learn. deanna Dr. Mumford Apr. 26/07 -
I have just joined this board after lurking for several weeks. I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Mumford on April 26th so just 2 weeks of Optifast left:). I have been reading this board especially the canadian section and have found it to be great. I have enjoyed be able to go back through the 'oldtimers' posts to see their progress from surgery until now. Just wanted to say hi and to say how much help this board has already been to me. I really like the support given and the light hearted attitude (not quite as serious and solomn as some of the other boards I have visited!). deanna

When you were on the Pre-op diet....
bandanarama replied to susansilver's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
When I found out about the preop diet I sat my husband down and nicely told him that he could cook for himself or he could starve! :omg: - actually he has been really good about it, he pretty much fends for himself and most days he and my daughter have eaten by the time I get home from work. So far I haven't had to cook for him since starting Optifast and preparing something for my daughter is pretty easy as she is still a toddler! -
I completely agree (I mean with with the awesome part!)

I went through several weeks of the last supper mentality. Put on about 8 lbs. because of it. Now I am on Optifast and I am in definite greiving about food (I cried on the way to work today because I don't when I'll be able to have kraft dinner and hot dogs again!). Oh well, I guess it's all part of the process. 2 more weeks until surgery! deanna Dr. Mumford Apr. 26
