  1. I was having this same sensation/pain the first week or 2 after surgery and I noticed, when I took my leak test that when I sipped the barium stuff, the top of my stomach (right where it meets the esophagus) was moving when I got those pains. I don't know if it was a spasm, or just the normal movement of the stomach. My Dr. nor the radiology guy said anything about it, other than everything was perfectly normal. Also, the more it moved, the more air came up from my stomach and I could literally see a burp moving through the barium. I learned that it was when something entered my sleeve that it gave me that little twinge and also the liquid filling my sleeve that made the burp come up. I'm 3 weeks out now and I can't even feel it anymore. I can't pinpoint when it stopped exactly, but It was somewhere around 10 days to 2 weeks out so this should start to get better pretty soon. Good Luck!

    The drain

I had my surgery in Mexico and had a drain and had to take it out myself when I got home. I was SOOOOO scared. I begged my Dr. to PLEASE take it out because I was so afraid of having to do it myself, but he wanted it to be in for while I traveled home. After flying all day with it I was so ready for that thing to be out of me. As soon as I got home from the airport I took a shower, snipped the stitch and whipped that baby out. It was a weird "snake swimming in your belly" feeling but it didn't hurt at all. I think it helped that I took a shower before taking it out because the skin around it was soft and hadn't begain healing around the tube. Try not to worry about this part of the surgery. I know that's a lot easier said than done. Honestly, and this might be a little too much information for everyone, but the worse part of my entire VSG experience (so far) was the yeast infection I developed after being on the antibiotics from surgery for so long.
