Worried that I have messed up my sleeve
IB150 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am two months out and I feel like I can eat too much food now. Is it possible that I have stretched my sleeve out this quickly? Should I do the 5 day pouch test? I have lost 30 pounds so far, but I am really worried that I can eat too much. I didn't lose any weight last week and I think it is because I am eating too much. I can't eat as much as I used to before the sleeve, but I can eat much more that I could. I still can't gage how much I should be eating. I can easily eat a cup of food at one time. is this normal? I would really appreciate some feed back from those with experience. I am really worried that I have messed up!!! Help! -
Worried that I have messed up my sleeve

I will ask him next visit. I know that I had a huge hiatus hernia that he had to fix at the same time. He said it was the largest he has ever seen. I wonder if that effected the size of the sleeve. -

For example, I can eat 3 or 4 oz. of meat and 1 cup of veggies at a time. Is this too much at one time? I just feel like I should not be able to eat this much at one time. -
About how much should I eat at one time?
IB150 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my procedure 4 weeks ago today. So far I have lost 21 pounds which I am pretty happy with. My question is about how much I should eat at one time. Is there a certain volume, like 1/2 cup or cup? I think I have heard with the band that the tummy can only hold 1/2 cup. Is it the same with the vertical sleeve? I am really having problems knowing the amount to eat. It seems to me that I can eat too much at one time, but then when I think about what I used to eat, it is definitley a much smaller amount. I guess I am looking for a guideline. I don't want to undo the surgery or prolong the healing process. Thanks. -
Another app is "SparkPeople." I have it on my droid. There are two versions, one is free the the proversion costs money but I don't know how much.

Can someone please share with me what a typical menu might look like on liquids/puree? I start puree in a few days. I am having trouble figuring our what to eat. So far I have mostly been doing Protein shakes and broths, but what will I do when I can have pureed food? As always. thanks so much for your time to answer.

Hello, It's been one week since my surgery. Things seem to be going well. I have been tolerating fluids and Protein so far. I have been following exactly what I am supposed to do so I haven't felt "full" yet. I am wondering what it does feel like to be full? Do you have the same feeling as before surgery? A few times I thought I have probably drank too much Water at one time, but no negative effects came to be.

Thank you so much for not only replying to my questions, but for all your repsonses. I have read many of them and you are truly an inspiration! It's wonderful of you to help many of us out even though it seems like you have made it!! I look forward to being in your position and helping others. How many calories did you aim for during the weight loss stage? How much Protein did you aim for? My Dr. has not really given me a calorie goal, just protein, but that may come later.

WOW!!! You are doing great!!! I had my surgery 1 week ago and they kept me in the hospital for 2 nights. I think I am doing great, but I don't think I want to take on a treadmill yet. Maybe I am just being a baby. Please just be careful. I have read posts from others who have over done it the first week and then it took them longer to recover. I guess what ever you Dr. says is the right thing for you. Congratulations!! Hey, can you tell me how to show a ticker at the bottom of my posts?

I am trying to figure out how to add the ticker weight tracker. Sorry if I am confusing people. I really think it is inspiring to watch the numbers go down!!! Any suggestions? http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/w3g0hON/weight.png[/img]

Any December Sleevers?
IB150 replied to weightnomore's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is scheduled for Dec. 8th. I can't wait, it seems like I have been waiting a life time. I hope I do as well as others on this site. Good luck. Be sure to post and let me know how it went!!! -
I am scheduled to get the VSG on December 8th. Yesterday I had the required appointment with the diatician. She said that I should consider the gastric bipass since I crave carbs. I read that the VSG DOES stop the cravings since the part of the stomache that is removed produces the hormone that promotes cravings. She said that if would be a shame for me to go through this and then still not be able to control my eating. I would really appreciate any comments from post VSG people. Thanks so much.
