I haven't necessarily talked to my surgeon yet about doing a single incision.....not sure if he does. But has anyone got a single incision VSG in Michigan? What surgeon did you use?
-
Every since reading about the single incision VSG.....I really really REALLY want it done like this if possible. I will be going to my surgeons office next week so I can find out if he can perform a VSG with a single incision. I know he was trained for a single incision, but I don't know if it is for Lap Band only. I would like to hear from the single incisioners.....where and what surgeon did you use?

Ok, I know this is totally bad....LOL! But I am going to ask. What about buffalo wings and fries? Has anybody tried that?

Who deserves THAT part of me and you?

Well, I haven't had surgery.....yet! But I haven't told any one but my husband, Dad and son. As of right now, I choose to tell only those 3. I know all of them will support whatever decision that I make. As far as my co-workers go.....I am choosing to not tell any of them. If they ask I will tell them I am just watching what I eat. Portion control. Or I will use one of my best friends lines, I just quit eating everything that I like! It's not a lie!! If its an obese person that asks....I will probably tell the truth. My husbands friends wife lost a ton of weight told me she had been eating only yogurt!! Yeah, right!!! I know now that she had some sort of WLS. I believed her at first. But now going through all of this.....I know she had probably RNY. But that's ok. Its her decision to tell me or not and I can respect that......however, I damn near stocked my fridge with yogurt until I was sick of it because of her. -
Honey that's how you a** got so big!

Gotta laugh......UGH!! Men, what is wrong with them sometimes? Sounds like something my husband would say. Apparently yours thinks he is a dietician too huh?? Of course they doesn't know anything. I will be cooking chicken Sausage on the grill (apparently he thinks it has the same nutrition as a Brat) and tells me I should be eating Cereal instead!!! Yeah, Frosted Flakes!! LOL! I guess the "whole grain" or whatever makes it a health food!!! UGH! My husband is a carb/sugar king!! I have no idea how he is not 400lbs!! I have a feeling my husband is going to be insecure when I start losing weight. Of course you are going to be more happier and wanting to do more things in life besides hide in the house. I am thinking me being fat makes him feel safe, though I know he would rather have me thinner. I just better not get a ton of questioning when I want to go to the mall and buy new clothes. If I get accused of cheating or something stupid, I am going to flip out!!! -
DANGIT!!!! It is official, my hair is falling out. EXPLETIVE!

I don't think it's lame at all. Its a very emotional thing for us women to lose our hair. I have medium/thick hair that is to the middle of my back. I have been contemplating what I am going to do when I start losing it. I am still pre-op right now. I have been buying the Niacin shampoo/conditioner and storing it, doing scalp massage, I bought a good mulitivitamin with the hair, skin, nails formula in it (using it now to hopefully grow more hair). I thought about extentions, but I was scared that the weight of the extentions would cause even more hair to fall out. I don't know. But I am considering maybe wearing hats or hair bandsfor a while.....or coloring my scalp!! I am more worried about having bald spots than I am having complications!! I am just planning on having a good 2 years of crappy thinning hair. 1 year for it to fall out and another 1 year for it to fully grown back in. But I still don't understand what causes the hair loss to begin with. Low calories is all I can think of. I am not a huge Protein eater now and my hair doesn't fall out. The sleevers arent malabsorbers. I have had major surgeries and never lost any hair before. I am hoping to dodge the hair bullet myself.....but I will plan on it happening.....SADLY!! -
What are my chances???

Wow! I am glad I read this post. I have been ALL OVER the place with what surgery to get until about 2 weeks ago. Started on the Lap Band, RNY, DS and now the sleeve. I feel the most comfortable with it and finally feel at peace with my decision. I had wondered which was a better surgery.....RNY or the sleeve. I didn't even realize that the RNY patients still have the "hunger hormone". I didn't realize either that the caloric malabsorption stops but the nutritional malabsorption is forever. I am not a big fan of the malabsorption thing. I don't think they know enough to know what it does to your body over a long period of time. I believe the sleeve is the healthiest way to do a WLS....as long as you have a good surgeon and follow the rules. -
