Never in a Million Zillion Catrillion Years....
Disney replied to SFOTraveler's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Oh my! You look so good! Sooo tiny! You have a very pretty face, too! Congrats on your great success and on your wedding! -
I agree with Irene...it may be hard now, and I know it is, I have a three year old, but it will be soooo worth it later. Not to mention next summer. Goodness, you will be an entirely new person by then. More energy than your kids!!! Hang in there

lab result came back bad
Disney replied to Tipsynoodle's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Right! It's better to treat it now. You sure don't want to give your new angry little tummy anything ELSE to gripe about after surgery!!! -
I also don't function well on low-carb diets. Your brain needs carbs to work properly. The key is to not over-do it with the carbs. I have never done low carb since being sleeved. I can't stand the dizziness, and sluggishness I feel when I low-carb. You are right, everyone is different and while those type diets work for some, other diets can work just as well. Try to LC after you are sleeved. If it doesn't work for you again, try something else. Trial and error. Good luck to you

Red Lobster 4 Lunch Today
Disney replied to Purdy in Pink's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you did just fine. Lick the biscuits. That made me laugh out loud!!! Hey, you still have to enjoy life. Just like everyone already said, an occasional treat is not going to derail you. Deprivation is what leads to excess in my opinion. Let yourself have treats now and then. I love Red Lobster, seafood is my second favorite food after Mexican. Yummy! Happy Birthday, btw. -
March Role Call!!
Disney replied to VSGandMe2011 (DisneyMomma)'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
16 weeks here and down 57 pounds from day of surgery and 67 pounds since pre-op. Ashamed to say I have not been exercising at all. I can tell it, too. It is just so dang hot here and the treadmill is so boring, but I KNOW I need to for my own good. I feel like my muscles are wasting away Thanks for reviving this thread. I hope everyone is feeling good! Oh! btw, I have been losing hair like CRAZY for about a month. I have lost at least 1/3 of my hair volume. People say they can't tell, but good grief, I am worried because most people say they lost their hair for at least 3 months. 2 more months of this, and I will be buying myself a blue Katy Perry wig!!! lol I don't care, though. It's ALL worth it. Already down from a size 20 to 14/16 in my jeans and boy does that ever make me forget about the hair! It will grow back!!! -
My story... thus far a 19 month journey that's just beginning!
Disney replied to Sarah E. S.'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Sarah, thanks for sharing your story here. I think you have done a tremendous job already and I congratulate you on your huge loss! That kind of work takes such determination that I know you will do fine after surgery! You said that we were probably wondering why you would opt for surgery, but the truth is, we have all lost loads of weight, over and over and OVER again. The hard part, and the part we can't seem to master, is the keeping it off. Maintenance is the tricky part. I know I never could manage it for long. That's too bad about the 19 months not counting towards your supervised dieting. But, hey, you are an old pro at it now. It should be a breeze!! So, yeah, we understand for sure! Glad you decided to come here and I look forward to any updates you have. -
I second the true lemon. It's just like squeezing lemon juice on. So refreshing during the summer. Just mix it with ANY type dressing.

Narrowing down doctors in Mexico
Disney replied to dallasmom's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
You can search Dr. Aceves' name on this site and read lots of info. He is who I used and I could not be happier. Looks like you are doing your research for hubby and that is the smartest thing you can do. Read, read, read! Good luck! -
I second the idea of stir frying them. They taste better with something on them! We get them all the time and enjoy them. I have to say though, I live in the South and you CAN NOT beat some good 'ol fresh Gulf shrimp. The oil spill was devastating to the Gulf, but they have recovered. Just went to Biloxi a couple weeks ago. Soooo yummy!

Hey, I'm all about some yummy bacon!! DE-LISH! Easy protein. That salad sounds so good!

does a lower body lift include a tummy tuck?
Disney replied to msleesa's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I think a lower body lift is like a combo of a: tummy tuck, butt lift , and thigh lift. They cut you all the way around and it lifts and tightens everything. -
Sleeved on Friday and still in the hospital
Disney replied to lyndynojo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yikes, that is so scary! Another reason Drs should let their patients stay in the hospital longer. I hope you are feeling better soon. Best wishes your way. -

Disney replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Disney........... SW-253...............CW-226...............July 4th goal-185.................Lbs to goal-41 Disney............SW-253...............CW-197...............July 4th goal-185..................Lbs to goal-12 Awwww, doesn't look like I will make it either (well, maybe if I go hard-core low-carb..=), but I am happy with what I have lost so far. Got myself into onderland, too! Can't complain!!! Hopefully I will have lost another pound by the 4th which will put me at 30 pounds lost for this 4th of July goal and that makes me so hopeful!! Good luck everybody! We're in the final stretch -
Been sleeved 6 days...
Disney replied to kpbrighton's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You might want to check with your Dr. to make sure the itchiness is not an allergic reaction to any meds you might be taking (possibly the liquid vicodin?) Allergic reactions tend to start on the torso. Good luck! -
Maybe it is the bread, but I will say that sleevers can tolerate bread after surgery, just maybe not as early out as you are. It will get easier in time. That sounds like a lame cliche, but I certainly found it to be true. Good luck to you, and believe me, you did NOT make a mistake by being sleeved.

Congrats! That is truly amazing. You might need to change your ticker...it still says 94 pounds left to lose!!
