Had an MRI today on my back. Checked no to all the boxes about having any metal in my body, Got home and then realized that my entire stomach was stapled together. Anyone else have an MRI after your sleeve? What happens to those staples??? Hope I haven't screwed myself up. I am nine months out from surgery, but never thought about this until now??

I Hit 100 Pounds! (lost And Not Gained)
QueenBee posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello my March 2011 Sleevers...... How is it going for you all? I hit the 100 pound loss this morning on the scale. Have to admit it's one of the best feelings I can remember. Hope all of you are losing well ; ) This forum has gotten me through it all. Thank you all for your posts and stories. Sometimes they are just what we need to hear. I remember the Dr telling me I would probably lose 100 before my 1 yr surgiversary, and I thought he was crazy. Even a couple months ago - I didn't think I would see it before the end of the year! THANK YOU LORD for allowing me to have this surgery. I DO have a new grip on life. Gonna have to figure out the picture posting and do a before and after. Wishing all of you A Merry Christmas and a skinnier 2011!!!! -

Any one with no hair loss?
QueenBee replied to Pagie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine started falling out about 13 weeks post-op and fell out for the next 3 1/2 months. Gone from a head full of thick hair, to very thin wirey hair. My hairdresser did say that I have tons of new hair growth and said it was probably from the Biotin. Good luck -
How many people have you've told about your sleeve?
QueenBee replied to Maddy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Only shared with 2 people. My husband and good friend (who can keep a secret). Didn't feel my medical info was anyone else business. To each his own. Best of luck on this wonderful journey... -
BIG secret... good or bad?
QueenBee replied to indy sleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Five months out now, and shared with no one but my husband. I didn't feel it was anyone's business. Good luck with your decision. Greatest choice I ever made, was to have this surgery!! -
I started the Biotin way ahead of surgery, and started using the NIOXIN shampoo and conditioner too. Three months post surgery, and the hair started falling out like crazy!!! This has been going on for 4+ weeks now, and I am really starting to get concerned. The shower drain and hairbrush are constantly full. Fingers crossed that I'll see a change soon.

No butt at all but big belly and sliding pants!
QueenBee replied to beckyboop74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One step at a time... The belly of course will be the last to go. Told my husband, that I might do better by putting my pants on backwards, since the belly is bigger than the butt ; ) -
Day 6 Post OP Pain and Overall Blah
QueenBee replied to Jimeez VSG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When you get to the point of wondering if you'll ever have energy or feel good again....You begin to notice that you DO feel better. Took me a good month to begin to feel like my old self. I wasn't in pain, but had no energy. Got my fingers crossed that you'll be feeling better soon. Take it as easy as you can. -
Graystonia - How exciting to have the surgery date scheduled. Things are progressing on my end. 8 weeks out this coming Tues. Still making some adjustments to my routine, but have NO regrets with having the surgery. July will be here before you know it.

Inspirered to show B4 and after shots
QueenBee replied to jovigrl62's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Woo Hoo!!!! You look great! Good for you. -
Not sure who you were referring too. I am now almost 6 weeks out. (In 2 days) Anyway, I have lost 39 pounds LOVE that! Still not getting in all of my Protein or my Water. I really "feel" that I need both, but there's just not enough room in my stomach. I go back to Dr. D tomorrow, so we'll see what he has to say. He's an excellent Doc, and I am sure you will be happy with him. So happy to be back on real food. Just remember...the first week is gonna be rough, but each and every day gets better. Here if you want to talk or have questions

Thanks all! Thought I would ask my sleever friends. I will follow up with the Dr on Monday.

I am 5 weeks out from my surgery. Had a complete hysterectomy 7 years ago. I am noticing a "small" amount of blood when I wipe. Not sure exactly where it is coming from. I no longer have periods because of the hysterectomy. Any thoughts on what is going on? I am talking just a slight coloration on the toilet tissue. Not every time, but maybe once every other day. This has been going on for about a week.???? ps. I see my Dr on Monday afternoon.

60 Days post-op, just getting to know the sleeve ..
QueenBee replied to dudeman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just wondering... Are you eating and drinking at the same time? This could be the reason for the frequent vomiting.?.? I am to wait 30 minutes between drinking and eating, and then 30 minutes after eating before drinking again. Just a thought. CONGRATS on being a sleever!! -
4 day update and questions
QueenBee replied to Ms Lady in NC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone seems to go at a different rate. I am amazed that some people are getting in the water and protein after the first couple of days. "My Dr" (AND I am NOT a Dr) told me to just work on sipping the water and walking the first 2 weeks. I was really tired and it took me a little longer than some of my fellow sleevers to bounce back. I am a little over 4 weeks out now, and still getting in less than most of them... BUT - each day gets better. You will become stronger and be able to get more in. Just don't push. Praying you will get over this hump and be on to being a happy sleever! -
First 2 weeks post-op
QueenBee replied to BeachWithMyBabies's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There was no way I could get it all in. "My" Doctor said to just worry about the water the first week or so. I was lucky to get 20ounces in per day. It takes a little while for the swelling to go down. I am sure your Doc will talk to you about the first week, when you go in for the surgery. It all works out. I am four weeks out, and still have trouble getting all the fluid in each day. -
Slowing down the eating...
QueenBee replied to Can'tweight's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't have any great answers. I have taken to eating in the kitchen standing up. I take one bite and then set the kitchen timer on 4 to 4 1/2 minutes. Then I don't take another bite until the timer goes off. Still learning.... When I am at the table I just eat too fast! We'll get there. -
Question re: Fatigue for extended amt of time?
QueenBee replied to Rev Me Up!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Feeling the same and I was sleeved the day after you. Like the post above says, it's just a lot to recover from. Take it as easy as possible and try going to bed early each night. Good Luck! -
Scared and Not telling anyone
QueenBee replied to Coookies's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I decided it was something I didn't care to share with everyone. I told one girlfriend, and my DH. Trust them both, so no need to worry about it getting out. I wouldn't share personal "woman" surgery with everyone, so why would I share something so personal to me. My kids were told I was having a hernia repair (which luckily I did not have to do) Anyway I am happy with this. It is best to go with your gut feeling. You will be so happy when you are on the other side of this surgery. Good Luck and God Bless. -
TMI shaving before surgery?
QueenBee replied to bugirl928's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did get a cath. They put it in after I was put to sleep, and took it out before I woke back up. Was worried the first time I pee'd, as I felt like I was getting a bladder infection. The nurses said "Oh that's just from the cath... It should go away really quick" (and it did). Best Of Luck!! -
VSG compared to C-Section
QueenBee replied to kaygarr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Much easier than a C-section. But like the others said - the first 2 - 3 hours after surgery are probably the toughest. Gas and I felt a lot of pressure in my chest. I am sure you are thinking it will be worse than it actually is. Good luck, and walk walk walk, and sip sip sip! -
2 Weeks post-op with Dr. D. My first week was hard. But nothing to do with the Doctor. Just had to get the body up and going. Would love to talk if you need to. He seems to be a wonderful man. He always listened to everything I had to say, and never made me feel silly for asking. ~S

What does full feel like?
QueenBee replied to MissyG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wondering the same thing. Sleeved 3/8. I was able to eat 1/4C mashed potatoes yesterday. 1/2C Cream of chicken today.....But I know that was pushing it. Still can't define the feelings in my stomach.
