    Hiccups ..why?

OMG, the burping is the worst for me. I tell everyone that is my only complaint. It is so embarrassing and you cannot help it!! I would give anything to figure out how to eat and drink without swollowing so much air. My doctor says it will get better but, I am 10 weeks out and still burping away!

    2 months after sleeve

I think 38 pounds is amazing. I never could have lost that much weight this quickly on my own. Look you are almost 1/2 way to your goal in only 2 months. Celebrate it!!! I know I will when I get there. I have a lot further to go than you. Keep up the good work!
  3. doing good, except i am not losing weight, still stuck. went to doc's and i lost 1 lb in the last 3 weeks..sux.....how about you?

  4. It happened to me too and let me tell you, "This Too Shall Pass!" During my second and third week after surgery I fluctuated between the same three pounds for TWO WEEKS!! It was so frustrating. I only wish I had take my measurements during that time because, I know I lost a lot of inches during this time. Once I FINALLY started losing again, I also have become obsessed with weighing myself. I am so afraid it is going to go back up!! I think our bodies go through shock. We did have major surgery and we are eating a fraction of what we did before. It is a HUGE adjustment both mentally and physically. It took me a while to figure this out. I sounds like you are doing all of the right things. My advice is to be patient, (as hard as this is!) be kind to your body and before long you will be a big time loser. Congratualtions on your surgery and good luck on your journey!!
  5. How are you doing???

  6. Thank You all for your encouragement. I wanted to post back that the "stall" has FINALLY passed! After bouncing between the same three pounds for TWO weeks!!! My weight finally started going down again last Saturday. I was skeptical at first but, I have lost a total of 6 pounds this week. Hallelujah!!!! I feel so much better!! I wish I would have been taking my measurements during the time of the stall because, even though I was not losing punds, I know I lost several inches. There is NO arguing with my clothing. Everything is very loose. YEAH!!! I had this surgery as a birthday present to myself. I am so glad I did!! For the first time in over 10 years I feel like I am headed in the right direction and will succeed in losing this weight!!
  7. I'm doing great! I'm not going to say all has been easy but, it is defintely worth it!! I hit my first plateau weeks 2&3 right after surgery. I think my body was just in shock!!! But, since I got past that, it has been smooth sailing!!

So, your surgery is Dec 20th. That is awesome. You get to start the new year creating a new you!!!!

  8. Sometimes while I am chew, chew, chewing my food, I seem to make sooo much saliva that it makes me seriously nauseous. I wind up not being able to eat and it just compounds the whole issue. It is so frustrating. I wish I had a scopalomine patch!! Does this happen to anyone else???
  9. Houston friend! How have you been doing with your sleeve? I get mine on December 20th.

    Constipation

I had this problem too. When I talked to my doctor's PA about it she too told me to use MiraLax every day for a few weeks and then as needed. That stuff works wonders!! They also told me I could take it three times a day to get things moving. It is nice because I just add it to my drink and you don't even know it is there. No cramping or anything. It really works.

    8 week update!!!

Wow, that is so awesome!!! Way to go!!!
  13. Wow, reading your post was like Dejavu' (sp??) I remember feeling the same way. I too was 36 when I had my surgery. I turn 37 tomorrow and gave this surgery to myself for my birthday. What better gift to give to yourself. I am so happy for you. It is awesome to see that you are in Houston. I am too. Our stats are about the same. Today has been one month since I had my surgery and I am down 25 pounds. It has not all been easy. It is such a adjustment. I can tell you that Tiffykins is right, the faster you get up and around, the faster you will feel better but, take it easy. I keep overdoing it and hurting myself. This has made my recovery slower. If I just would have waited another few weeks to rearrange my sons play room!!! It hasn't been terrible just pain in one spot on my right side. My PA says that is where the most internal stitches were. Good Luck tomorrow. I will be praying for you!!

    Time Off Work?

I had every intention of going back after one week. I think I am so tough. But, there was NO WAY!! I was still in a lot of pain. I took 2 weeks. And even then I was super tired half way through the day. I think it also helps to have the time off to adjust to your new way of life. It's a huge adjustment.
