I do not trust myself with candy in the house. I just asked my kids to hide their candy in places I will not find it, lol!

I also had my sleeve done by Dr. Suh, exactly 2 months before you on 5-16-11. If you follow his protocol, you will lose the weight, just be patient. I just went through a 5 week stall and it was beyond frustrating, but the scale is moving again...thankfully! If you are concerned at all, call his office and talk to his nurse. They will give you suggestions and will listen to your fears. One of the main things is to get your protein in and drink your water. I know I don't have a lot of answers for you, just know that you aren't going to be a failure, but you are going to be a "loser" . And, also that you are not alone. Everyone goes through stalls, some at 2-3 weeks, and some at 2 months or more out. Good luck!!

What is your favorite recipe website?
graygirls replied to Texasmom65's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
I love Eggface the most, but I have also used www.bariatriceating.com/BErecipes before, too. They have tons of easy and simple recipes that are categorized and organized into types of food for easy reference. -
My husband and I are in the same boat! I was sleeved on May 16th and his surgery date is July 26th. I am thrilled for him to start this journey, too! I will keep your husband in my prayers as he embarks on this life changing journey. Congrats to both of you!!

Welcome, Epiphany! Good luck with all the insurance hoops and the patience of waiting! The sleeve is an amazing tool -
Oooh, adding it to the Lipton soup sounds great! I have some Unjury chicken broth and at first I liked it, but now it is too strong. Thanks for the suggestion. I am glad to hear you are doing well. You were in my thoughts all weekend.

Yummy protein bar I can not only tolerate...
graygirls replied to MegInNOLA's topic in Food and Nutrition
Thank you for this suggestion! I am seriously gagging on all my protein powder samples. I am not getting near the amount of protein that I should. I am only a little over 3 weeks out, so I will have to wait on these, but it is something to look forward to. -
Happy Surgiversary!! How exciting! You look amazing and sound so upbeat. Continued success to you on this new journey of maintenance.

I am so glad you posted this because my stomach makes the loudest sounds, too. I am only a week out, but every time I drink something, the noises are terrible. It is not a hunger growl, but something quite different. I guess we are all in the same boat.

Good luck to you! We will all be here on the other side, saving a spot on the loser's bench.

Truly amazing!! Continued success to you

Home from the hospital and so happy to be SLEEVED!
graygirls posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just thought I would post a quick update that all is good and am so glad to be home. I didn't get much rest at the hospital and am hoping to sleep (and walk and sip!) lots today and this weekend. I am having trouble, though, just getting the one ounce of liquid in at all. There sure doesn't feel like there is any room for this stuff to go. It feels very tight and restrictive. I guess that is a good thing, but it is hard getting the required liquids so I don't get dehydrated. Anyways...so glad to be on the loser's bench!! Looking forward to this journey and keeping my eye on the prize and to be a better steward of the body God has blessed me with. It is all going to be in my attitude. If I choose to concentrate on what I can't have and how the foods/drinks I can have don't measure up then I will be miserable and will hyper-focus on reaching the stage where I can "eat again". This journey it all about learning to deny my overwhelming need to gain instant gratification through food. It is going to be difficult physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, but in the end if I do it God's way, I will never regret it . -
Home from the hospital and so happy to be SLEEVED!
graygirls replied to graygirls's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
@ exoticheart: I really love Dr. Suh and his whole staff. My experience has been wonderful. The hospital stay was...well, a hospital stay. The nurses and surrounding had nothing to do with Dr. Suh. They weren't bad, but I guess I was grumpy and irritable, so even the best nurses would have irritated me . Can't wait to hear about your consult and the next few weeks! My husband just had his consult with Dr. Suh and hopes to be sleeved this summer, too. I am glad I went first so I can help him and be his helpmate! Good luck to you! -
