Need New Boobies

I have also heard after you make goal weight wait 1 year. -
HELP! My doctor suggests I wait 1 hour before and 2 hours after meals before I start drinking my liquids again. I can't do that and still get my 64oz in. Not even close. So my question is why are we supposed to wait. My doc said something about staying full longer? I only eat 3 meals a day no snacking protein first/only. It is about 5 bites and I am good. So if that is the only reason wouldn't it be better to drink more for fear of dehydration? Please give me some feedback/ suggestions I really need it. Oh ya down 23 lbs in 4 weeks. Thanks Hanna

I use straws all the time. They gave them to me at the hospital and I found it much easier to drink with them. I am a month out and always use a straw.

Should I call the Doc?
Secret Surgery 34 replied to MaMa-C-Ta's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told 70 grams a day however the first 3 weeks I got maybe half that. Maybe. Now that I am on real food a month out it is better but I still don't get 70 grams everyday. Hang in there it will get better you will see. Just wait. You will lose all that weight and be much healthier. -
When could you start eating green salads or nuts???

My doc said after a month I was good to go for real food. I have heard salad is really hard to digest and nuts are no good till 3 months out. Please share your thoughts. -

Surgery weight - 205 Current weight - 182.2 Slow and steady! I can do this. -
Sarah first off props to you for asking for help and admitting your problem. I was thinking maybe you could send here a email. Kinda impersonal but that might make it easier to share everything. Then when you go to your next appt. She knows all and you guys go from there. Good luck to you. Keep us posted. I really hope you make it through this ok.

29 Years Old & Getting the Sleeve
Secret Surgery 34 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am 29 years old with a BMI of 34. I refuse to tell anyone other than my husband and mother about my decision to get the WLS. I don't want to be judged. I feel I judged myself enough ( ALWAYS IN THE NEGATIVE ) that I don't need to hear it from others. On the other hand this is a big deal and I need to share with someone. So I thank all of you for your posts and experience. It is appreciated. -

What happens when you get there?

What doctor are you going to? -
When I was on the liquid only stage I was soooo tired. Now that I can have soups and mushy food the higher calories seem to help alot. I get about 600-900 calories a day.

How long were you off work?
Secret Surgery 34 replied to EJStorm's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I was off work 5 days. I am sitting most of the day so it wasn't hard at all. My biggest problem was being so tired and I think alot of that was from the liquid diet my first 10 days. I am 2 weeks out and still a little sore when I bend over (tie my shoes, ext.) Good luck. -

Secret Surgery 34 replied to Secret Surgery 34's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
So now that I am sleeved I am telling. Still not saying anything at work but have or will tell all my friends and family. Now that surgery is done I really don't care who knows. Kinda crazy how that all works. Surgery went great and I am already down 17 lbs. In just 10 days. So I say judge that suckers:) -

Secret Surgery 34 replied to Kris's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like stacy160 had a hiatal hernia found during surgery. I am just over a week out and have had zero heartburn. I use to take extra strength zantac up to 5-7 times a week. Depending on how bad I eat/drink. Good luck to you. -
Depression and Regret
Secret Surgery 34 replied to Reese's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would call your doctor. It doesn't sound normal. A month out you should be doing pretty good. So sorry you are going through this. Just remember we are always here for you. -
I had the drain for the 3 days in the hospital as a precautionary measure. My doctor does it with everyone. It got drained twice a day. I didn't like it at all. It made it hard to breath. Like a really bad side ach. It never really hurt (sharp pain) hurt. Just a pain in the butt.
